New Site: Video Game Art Archive!

A few months ago I started a topic here about posting new video game artwork in replies to it. After that I started to really get into finding some artwork that was difficult to come by, or could only be found with a big logo on top of it. After a few months of searching, flipping through magazines, and sneaking into official press sites, I've unveiled the new site, The Video Game Art Archive!

It's very easy to keep updated, so any help adding new artwork or help broken links would be appreciated :)

Sure thing, my e-mail is rlan@emulationzone.org, It can hold whatever your sending :)

I'm not really sure how I'll actually give credit to people. My other sites have an easy design to do it with, but this site uses a php script to show up the images, and adding them in is very time consuming for a site I don't want to consume too much time with :P All I can think of is just having a "thank you" page somewhere, but other than that, any ideas?

I got a lot of nice Darkstalkers 3 art taken from the game disk, but they are .bmp. Should I save them as .jpgs before submitting them?

Here's a really nice collection of old and new Nintendo artwork. It's not mine, so it might be wise to ask the webmaster for his approval.

I also have access to a large collection of new artwork, but it's password protected, so I'll have to send you those one by one. If you're up to it, that is.

EDIT: Hmm, looks like you have access to it as well. :)

Anyway, great effort!

That is a very interesting (and bookmarked) move, I'll try to help you as soon as I have both time and a philanthropic reflux, even if it seems you already hosted a lot of what I have on my harddrive. For now, I just wish you a lot of courage and motivation !

EDIT : just trying to help you a little :

- In Donkey Kong Country (SNES), there are two identical images of Rambi and there is an artwork of DK64 that was re-used for DKC release on Game Boy

- In Advance Wars (GBA), 001 and 016 are the same artworks in two different sizes.

- Same goes for 001 and 008 from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (GC).

- Same goes for 001 and 031, 006 and 032, 007 and 033, 008 and 034, 009 and 039, 010 and 042, 011 and 044, 012 and 047 for F-Zero GX (GC). Idem for the 4 of these vehicles you also put on F-Zero GP Legend (GBA).

EDIT 2 : wow, it is even richer than I thought. You made my week :o Thanks alot.

Great start, needs more pictures but I can see the potential (And the bandwidth wasting!)

We need more sites like these. :D

Thanks Vomiaouaf, I've fixed most of those problems now.

Golem: I haven't recieved anything yet, have you been able to send it?

I also just updated with a few new bits and pieces :)

Also, anyone got access to any Japanese press sites? Any chance of sharing access? ;) [Or at least, a URL of where they are?]

I think someone posted their username and password to the US Nintendo press site here once. Who was that?

On the Puyo Pop GC page, one of your images which should be a thumbnail is at maximum size.

AWESOME SITE THOUGH!! I'm making a cool Puyo Pop wallpaper right now! :D
