That's exactly how a lot of people, myself included felt and still feel when it was first announced. I got SC1 on DC launch and imported SC2 when it launched on GC but I'm simply not into this one for pretty much the same reason as you.

Nice to see it's progressing well though.

The new costumes are for the most part very OMG EXTREME MOUNTAIN DEW. I call bullshit on that point. Chances are ill like SC2 better than 3, but 3's game options will make it something I still want to play.

Soul Calibur 3 looks good for a PS2 game... and we all know they plan a next gen version of the soul calibur series. If im not mistaken... soul calibur updates and tekken updates alternate every year from namco

first it was tekken 4, then soul calibur 2, then tekken 5, and now soul calibur 3 is up to bat... with a future tekken on the way for the ps3 next year.


im a fan of the series and im willing to pick up a ps2 for the game cause I have a good feeling it's going to bring everything sc2 didnt.

God, Raphael is back. My least favorite character in the whole Soul saga. I wish they'd axe that cheeseball dipshit for good. Otherwise, it looks ok. I'm not seeing a great improvement over SC2 here, but I guess that's to be expected. Honestly, I wish they wouldn't milk this series like they did Tekken. At the very least, make this a Soul Calibur Tag or something instead of a full-blown sequel. I'd prefer if it was just one new Soul game per gen. Let Tekken get run into the ground. Oh well. BTW, why is this PS2-exclusive? I thought SC2 sold well on the GC and Xbox. PEACE.
