New Xbox coming Next Year According to GameSir Leak

Not sure if this warrants its own thread but I really like the Gamesir controllers for PC and am on their Reddit that I follow and I see this, now of course its a very big rumour for now but looks like insiders on asian markets have leaked the new xbox.

Unconfirmed info about G7 Pro and G7 Ultra from Tieba Baidu

I noticed a discussion of the G7Pro wall poster on Chinese Tieba platform, which happened in September after that poster appeared. One of the users Air_琦 appeared to be insider and made a few interesting comments about G7Pro and overall Gamesir model lineup. Take it with a grain of salt, but with the lack of official announcements, it's better than nothing.
Condensed info from that thread:
  • There will be G7 Pro and G7 Ultra models.
  • G7 Pro will be wireless only on PC and wired on Xbox
  • G7 Ultra will be fully wireless
  • Price estimated at 499 yuan (69$) for G7Pro and 799 yuan (110$) for G7Ultra
  • D-pad and sticks are replaceable and controller will ship with 3 different D-pad heads (if translation is correct)
"Other "insider" posts:
"We only have a few brands of big handles, only Nova. This year we need to complete the product lines and price ranges. G7pro and Ultra have different positioning and meaning, you will know when the time comes"
"Also, the G7 line mainly competes with foreign manufacturers such as overseas Power A, and its positioning may not necessarily match domestic users."
Answer to question "When Microsoft will update their own controller": "With the new console release next year". "A new console is coming, and Microsoft is asking to prepare chips"
Answer to post with some angry YT comment screenshot "Finally foreigners are getting impatient about the lack of good new models": "To be honest, because we are globally oriented, different regions actually have different demands for game peripherals, in terms of functions, price ranges, configurations, etc. Innovation won’t be easy for a while. Look forward to our new stuff next year."

I believe one of our very own insiders has hinted at the possibility haven't they HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4

What shape would this take, if this is true? Heavy emphasis on the “if”. Refreshed “pro” Xbox, I guess, or a completely different device since Xbox is now completely aboard the “play everywhere” train.

I think it was obvious they would head in this direction i imagine they will have a version of pssr on the go as well.

Interesting and I like it.

Kepler also believed it was coming much sooner at one point last year

Of course we all know that Switch 2 is supposed to come out next year, sorry, I was wrong, Nintendo Xbox 2 Portable.

Seriously, it's highly doubtful, they already have huge problems with console sales and sales are down in all regions. Until this problem is somehow slowed down or localized, the release of a new console is highly doubtful. And if we're talking about a new generation of consoles, it's still too early.

Will they grow the market at less than 1000$ though? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Tbh this stuff is pretty doubtful.
Designing a product is not easy and there is a technological roadmap and milestones which they can't even control. You can't wake up one day and say "let's release a year earlier".
If something is coming next year it's because it was conceived and designed to be released next year.

If true, pro is not gonna be the most powerful console for long.

Unless they are talking about a useless handheld.

Microsoft needs to repeat xbox360 cycle again. Dont put your games on other platform. Release AA games every 6 months. Put out an affordable console with enough storage. Shutdown gamepass as thats not doing anything for them. This is the way to attract more people to your eco system.

This…… is never going to happen. For starters, the box for putting their games on other platforms is wide open. There’s no putting that back. Next, “shutdown Game Pass”? That must be from a comedy skit.

And it won’t make a shred of difference in the market.

Regardless, I’m not seeing a reason this should be given any sort of major attention when no one even has a clue what it is.
People with a decent pc are gonna ignore the next xbox like the did with the last one, it's the curse of having everything day one on pc.

Might be just a new optimized variant to cut costs? They really need a redesign since according to rumors XSX at least is still losing money.

This thread is going to go places as usual (unfortunately) but, personally, i hope that's true and i hope that MS/Xbox remains in the game for years to come since someone has to keep arrogant Sony® in check - competition is only a good thing and it's in the best interest of us customers.

Now, if only they could do something about their terrible marketing, sub-par "exclusives", mixed messaging (aka lies/backtracking) and their absolutely obnoxious astroturfing drones, spokespersons and "influencers" (aka insufferable cunts like Clit Eastwood amongst others).

I don't "hate" xbox, i just dislike most of their methods and bullshit, their consoles have always been great and - again - being able to stay in the game is only a positive thing since competition is always needed.

I agree

Xbox heads need to shut up a little and learn how to spot great games (which Phil can't do very well)

“Sir our hardware share is tanking, no one wants to buy our consoles”
“Release a new console as soon as possible”

What is this strategy called?
I have said this for well over a year but some at castle green felt they wanted to have the clearly best place to play GTA6 at launch, felt this game MIGHT move the needle SOME

100%

I don’t think anyone here wants Sony to be running around like Man City in the premier league.

It’s not fun for anyone apart from one set of fans.

Competition is required to keep things innovative and to ensure that our hard earned money is earned by them by creating us great games.

If there are great games then the sales will follow.

Microsoft would need to provide genuine competition then, because if y’all are to be believed, Sony is clearly not paying them any attention.

“OMG $700 Pro”. Meanwhile the XSX can run you just $100 less and all you get is an extra TB of storage.

It's extremely hard to do a reversal for fortunes in an era where great games are honestly very abundant, and any great exclusive can largely be ignored until it comes to you or something else takes its place..

This silver bullet thinking is exactly what Phil Spencer is most guilty of imo. The idea that victory is possible in a single stroke of genius that leaves the opponent dead on their feet.

By the time that machine is out, ppl will either have bought it on the PS5 (Pro), or they will be waiting for it on PC (if not outright playing it too).

Completely pointless to build your entire hardware strategy on a game you do not even control.

Totally agree with you so doesn't it sound like just the thing they would do?

;)

If they pull off forward compatibility and open store it'll be a golden age for gamers invested in the Xbox ecosystem digitally.
Dude they did not even get permission from Valve (or didn't bother to) to use Steam deck in their big ad campaign. I have no idea where people are getting the Steam association with, how would profit sharing even work there?

I would honestly not expect Steam to be there, at best you will maybe get Itchio and Epic.

It's honestly very in-character for them lol.

The current management clearly has no idea why 360 took off except the surface-level stuff, it was a different industry back then and that offered advantages to the 360 that the PS3 had to work without.

The Xbox one pro didn't destroy PlayStation but it did a whole hell of a lot for the Xbox brand. a series pro would do the same. But saying that I doubt this true.

Revenue sharing is simple.

Games will cost 10% extra on xbox compared to pc. That will be xbox margin.

They don’t need 30% margins cause steam will do all the server side work.

You can really filter the clueless people out who still say things like "Arrogant Sony" and "Competition is only a good thing".

Bro MS and Sony haven't been in competition in years and they have both changed course from the home console-only narrow thinking you still and only have.

Let's talk about those games and indoctrinated studios though..

I seriously doubt a new console will solve that shit

paGgHvR.gif

Don't even want half that shit on any other platform either.

MS really needs to pull their head out their arse and quick smart. Start firing dead weight and get some proper gamers making good content again, you don't even need a new console for this. Nintendo have been making great games on a fucking toaster for years now 👌

Sort it out!

You do realize that your "simple" solution completely kills any chance of this concept succeeding?

Why the fuck would anyone buy anything on that store app (let alone pay $1000 for the privilege)? Especially when Steam storefront can be accessed on a browser and even keyshop-bought games can be activated on there too?

Like what?

Like always having the best version of a game. The Xbox one X was significantly more powerful than the ps4 pro and it was reflected across the internet. That was a net win for Xbox and the only reason they stayed competitive. MS greatest strength is its wallet. If they want to continue being in the hardware business they need to make sure they ALWAYS have the most powerful platform. That was always the easy win for MS and they screwed it up twice in a row.

If you'd told me about a new Xbox during the Xbox and Xbox 360 era then I would have been excited.

For me, though the Xbox brand has been one disappointment after another since Xbox One and I no longer care that much for the brand any more. My Xbox Series X, which I only picked up a year after launch because it had nothing worth buying it for at launch, has basically been unused since May when I cancelled my GamePass Ultimate subscription. The only reason I have not sold it yet is because of the back catalogue of Xbox and 360 games I have on my account; those and the fact that the console can play BD and 4K discs so if my Panasonic UB820 player stops working or my PS5 Pro disc drive (although that is now easily replaceable now) then I still have a third option.

I actually sold some unwanted PS4 and Xbox One/Series X games earlier on this year. The PS4 games were sold instantly but no-one wanted the Xbox ones. That speaks volumes for the popularity of the console, or rather lack thereof, here in the UK in my opinion.
