New Xbox coming Next Year According to GameSir Leak

You do realize that your "simple" solution completely kills any chance of this concept succeeding?

Why the fuck would anyone buy anything on that store app (let alone pay $1000 for the privilege)? Especially when Steam storefront can be accessed on a browser and even keyshop-bought games can be activated on there too?

There are plenty of ways to make it work.

I expect some restrictions before they figure everything out.

It can work though. And them saying it will be allowed is something I look forward to.

I think it is early to get out there with it. I think 2026 and they still beat PS to market.

What's stopping you from getting a Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally right now? Especially considering that Microsoft themselves called it Xbox in their latest ad. :messenger_beaming:
I have a Steam Deck and it’s awesome, but I try not to buy multiple copies of games across multiple systems. Most of my games are on the Xbox. I’m waiting for the cloud to catch up and make those games available.
Having a system that plays natively is better thank cloud…but I’ll take what I can get.

Like always having the best version of a game. The Xbox one X was significantly more powerful than the ps4 pro and it was reflected across the internet. That was a net win for Xbox and the only reason they stayed competitive. MS greatest strength is its wallet. If they want to continue being in the hardware business they need to make sure they ALWAYS have the most powerful platform. That was always the easy win for MS and they screwed it up twice in a row.
It didn’t mean much in the end, though. PS4 versions of games still sold miles better and they carried that momentum into this gen. Xbox’s problem has never been power and having the most powerful system will not change a thing.

As an Xbox Series X owner, I wish it were true.

I'm planning to finish my backlog within the next year, so late 2025 is a perfect time for moving forward with no regrets!

You can really filter the clueless people out who still say things like "Arrogant Sony" and "Competition is only a good thing".

Bro MS and Sony haven't been in competition in years and they have both changed course from the home console-only narrow thinking you still and only have.
This gen is different for Sony, it marks how pointless it is to support a brand based on blind trust, at least it'll press the reset button for both these platforms and start from "show us the games first". If this is true, the 10th generation sounds like the judgment day for these 2 platforms.

[RollingStone]- Xbox CEO P. Spencer again confirms the arrival of more Xbox consoles in the future as well as other gaming devices.

"Definitely"

n regard to whether the company's emphasis on cloud streaming and anywhere devices means that the they'll cease developing new home consoles, Spencer had a definitive answer:

"We'll definitely do more consoles in the future, and other devices."

At this point it's clear that Xbox isn't done with the hardware. Now it's time to find out what the plan and strategy is with it in terms of making it compatible and embracing multiplatformity at the same time.

Then, regarding the OP... from the interview it sounds more like the XBOXNext is going to take longer than just a year. Another thing is that they could announce its existence for a release at the end of 2026.

Not sure if this warrants its own thread but I really like the Gamesir controllers for PC and am on their Reddit that I follow and I see this, now of course its a very big rumour for now but looks like insiders on asian markets have leaked the new xbox.

Unconfirmed info about G7 Pro and G7 Ultra from Tieba Baidu

I noticed a discussion of the G7Pro wall poster on Chinese Tieba platform, which happened in September after that poster appeared. One of the users Air_琦 appeared to be insider and made a few interesting comments about G7Pro and overall Gamesir model lineup. Take it with a grain of salt, but with the lack of official announcements, it's better than nothing.
Condensed info from that thread:
  • There will be G7 Pro and G7 Ultra models.
  • G7 Pro will be wireless only on PC and wired on Xbox
  • G7 Ultra will be fully wireless
  • Price estimated at 499 yuan (69$) for G7Pro and 799 yuan (110$) for G7Ultra
  • D-pad and sticks are replaceable and controller will ship with 3 different D-pad heads (if translation is correct)
"Other "insider" posts:
"We only have a few brands of big handles, only Nova. This year we need to complete the product lines and price ranges. G7pro and Ultra have different positioning and meaning, you will know when the time comes"
"Also, the G7 line mainly competes with foreign manufacturers such as overseas Power A, and its positioning may not necessarily match domestic users."
Answer to question "When Microsoft will update their own controller": "With the new console release next year". "A new console is coming, and Microsoft is asking to prepare chips"
Answer to post with some angry YT comment screenshot "Finally foreigners are getting impatient about the lack of good new models": "To be honest, because we are globally oriented, different regions actually have different demands for game peripherals, in terms of functions, price ranges, configurations, etc. Innovation won’t be easy for a while. Look forward to our new stuff next year."

I believe one of our very own insiders has hinted at the possibility haven't they HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4
And thats not true, according to Phil Spencer they start working on the next Xbox beginning in 2025 so that the new Xbox is coming next year is a pipedream....
Will stick to whatever platform commits to supporting physical media and traditional ownership of said media.
Microsoft dont need to build a new Xbox, according to the new ads from MS "every screen is an Xbox" so why build another one? You can play a collection of games trough cloud streaming on every device for $20 a mounth, so your phone is an Xbox your tv is an Xbox your PC is an Xbox etc... so why build another Xbox? And according to MS they gonna reach 200 million console players trough streaming they are targeting 2 billion of gamers, because you know..."every screen is an Xbox".
And so, for me.that sound cringle as f*ck, but thats my opinion...

This is why Microsoft are useless at making game consoles, they don't ever seem to have plans, they just react to the competition.
Going by what mark cerny says, the design for the ps5 pro started around just after launch of the ps5. So about 3 to 4 years for a mid gen upgrade. A console that's shares most of the parts of the original.
Yet we're supposed to believe that those useless plonkers can design and launch a brand new console in the same time.
It's going to be Xbox 360 all over again.
If I was a series owner I'd be livid

lol yeah tell that to ps3 gen Sony who only inched its way to barely more sales in the very end because of entrenched fanboys / distribution in non main market countries. But it had major loss of mind share that gen for having inferior ports of games.

The xbone also lost all of Xbox's momentum by having lesser hardware. That was a big selling point of the Xbox up until that point.

Microsoft needs to repeat xbox360 cycle again. Dont put your games on other platform. Release AA games every 6 months. Put out an affordable console with enough storage. Shutdown gamepass as thats not doing anything for them. This is the way to attract more people to your eco system.
Also have some actual games for the platform at release. (Wasn't it like a year before the first series X/S games came out?)

To get a console that is measurably better than the Pro it's going to cost more than the $699 the Pro launched at. Good luck selling that to a public that is still bitching about the $699 price point.
PS5 PRO isn't subsidized, because it's not a next gen.

The next Xbox can be subsidized to collect as much install base as possible, that's why in theory Microsoft can offer a more powerful hardware for the same price as PS5 PRO.

Look MS isn't a company that's just gonna chill after spending crazy money for cod.

It will just be a new generation or a new version of the xbox there is no unwritten rule they have to follow the generational expectations.

Sarah Bond said ages ago they were working on new hardware. They dont give a single shit about missing off the current xbox owners they release all.their games on PC and eventually ps5 also. Plus it's not like the series x was a runaway success.

It makes absolute sense to launch a new gen 5 years later I'm surprised they've waited this long tbh.

They're selling a 4 year old console for $599 right now though

All next-gen console stuff is 2027 afaik.

From the other thread.. Kepler was saying 2027 in the Handheld thread, and he always seems to be hooked into the AMD side.

Does that mean that the new box is something else and will cost an ARM and a leg?

I mean, I know MS has deep pockets, but how long do you think they're going to keep going throwing good money after bad. At some point Nadella is gonna put the brakes on the unlimited spending for no return.

Perhaps the rumored Brooklin is still an option for a refresh next year? Who the bloody hell knows anymore with Phil at the helm of Xbox.

Um, the PS3 had a major loss of mindshare due to an expensive launch price. All else was far less consequential and totally irrelevant to this discussion.

Xbox losses aren’t tied to hardware power.

Microsoft would need to provide genuine competition then, because if y’all are to be believed, Sony is clearly not paying them any attention.

“OMG $700 Pro”. Meanwhile the XSX can run you just $100 less and all you get is an extra TB of storage.
Yep genuine competition would be welcomed.

This generation has been a bloodbath.

Remember WiiU? And then Switch.

Everything is possible!
No I didn't mean that they wouldn't release a new console so soon. I'm saying they won't discount it or subsidize. Those days are over. Hardware is going to cost going forward if you want decent or better specs. That's why I mentioned the series x @$599 4 years after launch.

Ok, if it costs $699 and launches in 2025 with 1Tb of storage and without a disc-drive,

what kind of hardware could it offer? How many teraflops ©?
