But I don’t expect next consoles to be high value devices. Will likely be closer to PC in cost vs performance.

Microsoft needs to repeat xbox360 cycle again. Dont put your games on other platform. Release AA games every 6 months. Put out an affordable console with enough storage. Shutdown gamepass as thats not doing anything for them. This is the way to attract more people to your eco system.

I call BS on this one, they said a new console is coming next year and MS are asking people to prepare chips, we might start getting leaks of hardware tests this time next year, but it won't be released until this time 27 it would be brand suicide if they sold people 2TB Series X consoles this year at $600 USD and told them they're not releasing a mid gen refresh to go and release a mid gen refresh, because GPU wise it wouldn't be cost effective to put anything much more than the PS5 Pro in it, they will be supporting switch and PS5 with their games, they won't get third party support, they could go with a newer CPU, but it will basically be a better PS5 Pro unless they wait for a real generational leap ie 2027/28

PS has some decent open world racers that kind of scratch the itch but none are on the level of FH. I feel like they’d sell a ton of copies on PS5. I’d probably bite.

if it's just a significantly more expensive console though they should definitely wait, as if it releases next year for 1000, the price is never coming down, but a few years after ps6 will be out, probably more powerful and significantly cheaper, and they'll end up with another 'console' gen they'll need to bail on.

Not sure the fanbase would tolerate 1000+ every couple of years.

My only real concern with a machine like that is how they'll manage old console BC. Either they abandon all pre-Xbox One BC and do a clean slate, or they turn it into a universal solution, i-e put BC on general Windows PC environments along with their own device.

I would hope they do the later, instead of just leaving it behind.

xbox is now an OS , they can pre-build an RTX 4090 PC if they want.
But objectively answering your question, 18TF, 24GB of RAM and a 40% higher CPU.
But unfortunately, power is not everything, Sony has mastered the art of making cutting-edge graphics, all Sony studios need to do is make games and lower the price of the PS5 Pro, the next gen Xbox-Dreamcast dies at birth.
