Yeah I played those back then, but I don't feel attached to them. Probably it has to do with culture around it, as skating in general is rare around here, and I don't remember seeing a skating board around only skating shoes and ice skating. Such stunts might even be "mildly" illegal as healthcare is free here and you know how those skaters could snap a bone or even their spine. So if they will ever exist will be under some authority to make sure that no amateurs would try crazy things they're not trained to do so.

It's not a war, it's just a fact. Anything PS5-related would make much more buzz and attention = benefits his summer fest.
So yeah, ANY thing from PS5 would be one of the "more" important moments in this summer. Put a poll for that anywhere and see the reaction. At this point only PS5 and 1st party games are next gen, the rest are just remasters and cross-gen which tend to disappoint and have less interest.

I totally know what you mean. I'm not much of skateboarder myself, I don't actually have much interest in the sport. But when I was young, we were a little poor, so I was always behind when it came to console gens. When everyone had PS1 I was using a N64, when PS2 came out I was playing on my PS1 and when PS3 came out I was still playing on my PS2 lol so I had to make due and I'd play whatever games my Dad would buy, very cheap ones. One of them being Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. I'd spend hours on the game. I actually became ridiculously good.

It's funny that I had to wait until 1997 to buy PS1 at around $650 because around 1995-1996 it was only for the rich and sold at an inflated price of $2600!!! Then went down gradually, I think by 2001 it reached the original launch price of $300 Now Sony is managing it better since PS3 at least in terms of prices here.

Agree. But I'm curious if all of the economic issues this year will in fact affect the prices that were initially planned for by both MS and Sony. Or...if they both were going higher end this time and going above the $399 price point...how this year's conditions will affect those sales. Likely to be a much rougher next few years for both companies regardless of what price they come out with.

It's pretty strange that everything getting much more pricey and it's ok, a 2080Ti for $1400 is ok, but a console that is sold at a bargain of $500 is considered expensive. Most average people I know and even kids I teach when I tell them that PS5 might be priced at $500 (~192 Omani Rials) they were shocked by how cheap it is because of the history of black market prices is still floating around. US-spec PS4 were sold at around $1170 USD in November 2013, I waited while many paying upfront to secure a preorder for them, and got it in 2-December-2013 for an official $470 instead. Well, outsold in hours but I picked it at 9:17am after a call from Sony dealers that I've been call-abusing them about PS4 for months

I remember my hands were shaking when I reached home, literally buzzing as you say in the UKGlad that preorder is now a thing here, I will definitely secure it, that's if the economy doesn't collapse by then

Yeah, I agree on the pricing end. I was one of those that said I'd willingly pay $1000 (US) for a console that was sufficiently powerful. It is a multi-year investment. But I know there are many who would seriously struggle to hit that $399 price point even. That's why the "last gen" boxes usually sell strong for at least a year or so after "next gen" come out and the prices on the older boxes drop to their lowest point. Like I said, I'm very curious to see how this year affects things. I know a LOT of people have lost their jobs right now, at least temporarily which is still bad since it still means they don't have money coming in even IF their jobs will be restored once things are better. Many others are permanently out of their jobs. I will be interested as well in the coming years to hopefully find out what was being decided by Sony and MS behind the scenes as all of this played out.
Edit- I'm down with the pre-order as well...as SOON as it's available I'll be on the list. Especially with all this going on, I want to make sure I have my hardware reserved as there are likely to be more shortages. Unless of course, I'M out of work by that time!

It's too early to say for me, but we can look at 360 and PS3 sales which were hit by the 2008 recession and they still sold like crazy. It's safe to assume a lot more people live more securely in terms of finance compared to 2008 and so who knows. I live in the U.K and they plan on easing the lockdown over the next few weeks and people will return to work in less then 2 months (fingers crossed). Again this is just speculation on my side, I'm curious to see how it plays out

Yeah I really feel sorry for all the people got damaged financially by this COVID-19 insanity. I remember one guy in the comment section of a PS4 game probably in 2018, maybe it was GOW, he wrote "I dream to have a PS4". That really touched me real deep, and I was enraged by some clowns mocking him like "get a job/what year are we in/you got better problems to deal with". Some people are either heartless or too dumb. But you know, you could go to the most neutral, most lovely video on youtube and still see dislikes
I can still see the black market working its way by reselling some leftovers from a market to another starving market that is willing to pay for them. Just watch the likes of eBay.

And yeah I can imagine your excitement whilst picking up the PS4! It makes me pumped for the PS5 and I hope there won't be some limited stock at launch for whatever reason. Fingers crossed!

I was zig-zagging, driving at around 160-180km/h then breaking to 100km/h near speed traps, mis-calculated one speed trap and a policeman might laughed at my photo later
Dealing with speeding tickets was the least thing to think about at that moment, I was having some quality time with the only available game at that day...Knack

Either working from home...so don't have long commutes into work or...(and I hope this is very few) not working at all right now! Then of course you have just the factor of time zone differences across the world so when it's late at night for some of us, it's already early morning for others and vice versa.

Ok now I got you. 1 OMR (Omani Rial) = $2.6 USD = 2.39 euros. It's not an independent currency, it's tied to what's called Currency Basket, I think, mostly tied to USD due to oil. So doesn't give us any perks buying from Europe or Japan, but better/stable deals from the USA. But if like the euro or another currency falls against USD, then it gets cheaper to import from those countries, I guess. I'm not that much into business, only good at wasting money.

Very true. I live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and a few hours away from the desert heat is mile high pine forest and beautiful mountains...an hour or so past that is the Grand Canyon...one of the great wonders. How many times have I seen the Grand Canyon and/or the great meteor crater in my 40+ years of life? Exactly TWICE...that's it. I must be INSANE. Tons of beauty, which is why I like Arizona....but I don't get to go see it nearly as often as I'd like. I grew up out away from the cities, in a very small copper mining town (small town but one of the biggest open pit copper mines in the country). Spent all my summers as a kid out in the high Sonoran desert playing with rattle snakes, being way too stupid around cougars and even got chased by a Gila Monster once (Pro tip- those bastards can MOVE and move VERY fast if you piss them off! They go from lumbering, slow lizard to showing exactly why they are a LIZARD!
) Yeah, I need to get out more. I want to take my drone out to where I grew up and get some good photos and video.But it's so much easier to just sit on my ass and play all these cool games!

Those photos are during our monsoon season, between late June up to late September. So after that it starts to dry out, as it's sub-tropical. I'm known around my country as a freelance naturalist through the Omani TV since 2012 in small documentaries I make during this touristic season.
