This gen they did a blurry Teaser of the hardware a few weeks before the June event. By June of 2013 we saw the hardware and knew price. The release date happened at Gamescom in August 2013.
I think we will see the hardware in the least, especially if it's going to be a teardown. But man, I hope we at least get the opportunity to pre-order.
I still think we might get a surprise at the end of SoP.

I just want to see how they will handle the potential upgrades. Whether select developers will patch (with more bells and whistles) it like they do now on the Pro/X for cross-gen games, or just let the system up the resolution/framerate in its own profile with a more minimal approach.
Marketing BC cross-gen games with "cross buy and smart delivery" is borderline sleazy and patronizing at this point.
