Wow a handheld console which is use also for play in tv for many people, Nintendo works differently sometimes is rewarding sometimes is not.

The people who thinks are different markets is like they think the people who played are so different or split their money for one thing or the other

Because you know a normal person go to the closets best buy they know they can expend their money in "handheld" console without affect how
much money can use for PS4 or Xbox One because you know you split your money between the money for "handheld" console (even when is use
also for their tv) and the money for the home console for play a new game, yeah sure.

If you ever release a game the same day as a Mario/Zelda game is released be prepare to lose some sales.

I don't care if you like Nintendo,Sony or Xbox if your work for a site which make reviews of games, reflect on your opinions before writing them
o go to work as PR of that company.

Eh, I hear you but they're just comments. If the SONY CEO or Mark Cerny or someone was constantly responding to news and announcements the same way, they'd be getting riffed on as well. No big deal.

What counts is actual news and demos and it appears we're FINALLY about to start getting more of that. Once both MS and Sony have revealed the basics, it will be a steady diet of hype building for both until release. Game developers will also have the handcuffs off at that point as well and can start advertising more of their products. THAT is going to be cool

Here's my guess for what we see at Sony's event next week: I think we will see clips from 1 or 2 first party games. I think one first party title will be a launch title with the other coming up over the next year. I do believe we'll get a price although I was thinking pricing and pre-orders wouldn't be till early August. Just a gut hunch. I think we'll see some third party stuff as well. I don't think we'll see much if anything on the UI. Maybe the basic game launching screen or something, but not beyond that. They'll confirm PS4 BC with "most titles" and we probably won't get specifics on enhancements to those titles when you play them on PS5. Probably won't get details on external hard drive support either. The focus will be on "next generation games" and they'll save the online features and other features of the UI for later. Will probably be some focus on the 'instant on' or 'no load times' as well.

I would temper expectations on the games shown. I think there will be plenty but some seem to be expecting TONS. I'm just keeping expectations shaved a bit to avoid over-anticipation which leads to disappointment. Yeah and not everything shown will be live gamplay. Just like Microsoft's small print on a bunch of what they showed, some footage will be "representative of gameplay."

Anyway, that's my un-psychic prediction for next Thursday. We shall see!

In regards to the Greenberg tweet, my honest opinion:

It's a part of marketing. To him, he is just doing his job. Shots get fired back and forth, this isn't new. MS perceived the variable clock stuff as a weakness so they marketed around the word sustained, Sony perceived the cross-gen support mandate as a weakness so they are marketing around generational leap. It's smart on both sides, imo.

Are Greenberg's tweets the most savvy writing on the web? No, but I don't really blame him. Not saying I agree or disagree, but I understand what's happening. It's all about headline/tweet wars now until all the cards on the table (first party games, prices, etc).

As far as the rest I am sure Sony will show at least one or two big games to demonstrate the hardware. That's what people will remember.

He's a douche here or there but that tweet... was just basic marketing of your product.

No idea Im new to this site but with my own personal experences, E3 always feels like the Stanley Cup playoffs and console launches feel like christmas just full of excitement in the air with my friends and I and waiting to see the games etc.

Im for whoever gives me good games, but i did stand in line with my friend to get a ps3 at launch due to lack of quantity. After school my friend and I lined up at walmart, we were 5th and 6th in line, I was the last person to get the bigger harddrive on the ps3 then. Was fun sitting with common people,
Talking about games and finally getting our hands on it at 3 in the morning, going to my friend house, set it up, pop in resistance, play for a while, fall asleep for 2 hours then go to school and anticipate the wait to go home and play again

i just find it funny how a weak of a marketing response that was to sony's pr. Sony said "we have next gen games" and he went and replied with "yeah well we have bc tho!!".
He literally could've just said "we have next gen experiences as well" because the series x WILL get next gen only titles, but this felt like a rushed playground retort

Well, at least he tried it. I can see a huge dissapointment drama that is going to be created in the Xbox fanbase once they see that not all the crossgen games will give them the next gen version for free. And also once they see that Series X BC doesn't include 100% of the XBO/360/OG Xbox tittles.

EA said -at least for some game- that to get the next gen version for free you'll need to buy the XBO game until December and activate it on Series X until March.
