In a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being wildest expectations), how pleased will we be tomorrow after the show?

No way they will show the price right now, what possible incentive would they have to do that? If the games impress, people won't care about the price anymore, at least not the most hardcore gamers.
I'm pretty sure they are happy to let MS go first and then undercut them if need be.

Tht we know hence my doubt. We won't get prices till August.

If I had to guess, CU synchronization becomes harder at higher frequencies, which is probably the logic failure he was referring to. More so the more CUs you have, in fact.
Could you clarify a few more things?
What is responsible for this sync and why exactly it fails at higher frequency? Where is the point of failure? Any source to read?

Was curious as to that too, cheers.

I don't know enough about the architecture to say for sure. That's just my speculation. Similar issues can happen with multi-core CPUs which require mechanisms to ensure cache coherence.

Edit: search online for "cache contention". A problem which I assume also impacts GPU compute units, especially when one tries to modify the cache at a high rate.

Edit: I think that's what the "coherency engine" Cerny was referring to is for.

If I see Gran Turismo I'm finally going to buy a racing wheel for next gen.

Anyone have any recommendations for good wheels/pedals for a reasonable price??

I use this and very happy with it. There are better out there but wasnt sure how I would like using a wheel so didnt want to invest a ton.

Not sure what you would want to spend though.

Sure, all the physics calculations running on double the CUs will magically half themselves with no impact to the game. Same with all the RT calculations...
Devs will just press the "reduce to 1080p" button and it's done.

You can modify the number of rays used so scaling that with resolution may work depending on the game.

If the S has 1/3rd or more the performance of the X then it leaves a fixed amount of headroom for non rendering tasks. Non linear scaling is why you would not give it a gpu that is 1/4 that of the X.

Driveclub VR, 4K, full bells and whistles. Just put a feeding tube down my throat and a toilet for a seat.

Not happening.
Two days ago I dreamed I was playing a driving game in VR, very similar to Driveclub, with nice and clear graphics. I was driving a sports car at a tropical town by the sea and got out of the car to see the interior a house, very detailed and cozy, like the one in Uncharted 4.

(It is just my opinion)

Reality will always be below expectations. I don't think they show all the cards today. I'm not saying it because I know it. I say this because at the business level it would be the most logical. Although they may also want to compensate for so much delay "in some way".

I would love for you to start the presentation with this playable real-time (and improved with MegaScans).

Motorstom trilogy in VR would would be amazing!

it depends, will we see PS5 design? game boxes design? i think, games will deliver, but we need cherry on top :) if we talking about just games, i would say 8, plus those cherries can lift til 9 :)

I am just amped that we are finally going to get real info and games instead of this slow faucet drip of information that they have been doing!

Why do you think this? Last time they announced price in June, so why would this be different now? Just so they can wait for Microsoft?

I do a lot of sim racing, and I'd have to say the best price to performance ratio would be the Thrustmaster T300RS. I bought mine a few years back, and since then the majority of my sim racing friends have bought one as well.

The only complaints I have against sony this gen is the monopoly on digital sales. . They offer no price competition and you can literally buy the physical copy of a game for sometimes half or less of what PSN is selling them for,

Going into nextgen I think I will be happy to stay with physical copies with the size of the assets getting larger and the updates supposedly getting smaller. This should allow for quicker re-installs. It will suck to have multiple games suspended if you need to keep switching disks to play them. I likely won't use that feature much anyway

Shame never came to Brazil. See what I've been saying?

Yeah I fucking luv my tcl six series thts the one I me tioned before. 700 plus tax for a 64inch decent hdr, local back dimming, good picture quality, Dolby 10, vision etc. A decent to good 4k TV is very accessible for many at this point at least in the states and Asia.
