Well, the biggest game is Horizon Forbidden West, the rest are small but very interesting, but not hard hitters. Very nice start.

Having one of GoW, Uncharted, Days Gone, and other first party big games would've sealed the 10.

Dude. Demon Souls? That's pretty big. A game that actually GREW in popularity. Very nice. And GT. I think it is one of the best launch lineups ever.

Character models are upgraded a lot from what I remember Spider-Man looking.
Googled a video before posting to save me editing lol.

Definitely an upgrade but PS5 will have boost mode.

You can't tell me Insomniac developed Spiderman a few years ago, is working on a new Ratchet and Clank AND developed this for 2020?

No way.

Kind of agree. I mean -have to admit, I have never looked at a single console of any brand and thought "man, yeah that's it". I always think they are off for whatever reason and then forget about it soon after. Also, have it tucked away not visible in my living room anyway so... kind of moot (for me!).

That all being said. Not at all what I expected it to look like :messenger_grinning_squinting: No V - or anything. It really does look quite a bit like a router. Which, again, I'm indifferent about :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:
Very true. Goes with that commercial of trying to disguise a playstation as a router!

NGL, the moment I saw R* logo when the stream began. I thought they were showing a new game or something. :messenger_open_mouth: In just a fraction of a second, my brain went like...Bully 2? Agent? GTA 6? New Red Dead? RDR1 remaster? Something entirely new...? LOL.

I suspect this Spiderman game was originally supposed to be "standalone DLC" for the PS4, that got scheduled for PS5 and received a few graphical upgrades here and there. Not complaining, the first game was fun.

Pretty sure Spider-Man is a Left Behind/First Light scenario... I will still buy it!
Loved Horizon, Hitman (both are in my top 5 franchises), and GT7!

Overall tho, 7/10.. Too many indies, but hey, Games for every taste is always a great thing!

Never thought that Ratchet & Clank would be the game to show off the SSD advantage, but here we are. It was literally loading new areas in a second or less.

Pretty much. That was pretty cool. The shift from area to area which is something that fits the game theme.

Games did the talking. Surprisingly with varied genres for all audiences.
I do not understand why some people downplaying it all to oblivion.

Console looks fine. This gen, both looked like routers. one is black/green. the other white/black/blue.

About what I expected from the showing. But I am concerned on the launch titles for both machines really. Microsoft will have Halo but that doesn't excite me as much as something like a Forza. I know that's personal taste and the monority, but Sony hasn't shown a big first party luanch title yet?

Game is awesome, I'm not complaining either. Cannot wait to play it and my little brother is a massive Miles fan. But no way its a full new game. The development timing doesn't add up.

Come on. Microsoft was always delivered a Forza at launch. Nothing to worry about mate.

Funny, I made this comment last month. lol

Let me get this straight. Do you think more games are going to require SSDs in the future? SSDs are going to change how games are designed in general.

I'll use the movie Jumper as an example.

They're teleporting instantly from one location to another. What if Sony wanted to make a game like this? They're very likely going to require you to have an SSD. Having a good amount of storage speeds is going to be required in the future.

Nah man, your concerns are legit. Save for Spider-Man and GodFall, none of them were given a Holiday 2020 tag. Halo is a lock pretty much unless things go terribly wrong, and the teams at T10/PlayGround are super efficient. So I expect both of them to hit the launch date.

And he was dead wrong about Silent Hill.

You can't expect Sony to reveal every single game in one event. We didn't see either of SSM projects, nothing from SuperMassive, nothing from their new SD studio.

Silent Hill is legit and I expect them to reveal it little bit down the line. Perhaps next year, but Dusk Golem sources are legit.

I stayed away from news sites. Got on with my fully today. That Discless model. Has killed the lockhart. They cannot come out with a 4TF device.
When Sonys cheap model is just discless & still 10TF.

How ratchet & clank looking crazy out here.

Wonder how long will have to wait for the PS5 enhanced patches for these games.

Five out of six isn't bad. Should've just switched out Silent Hill with Spider-Man 2 or Ratchet and Clank.

In regard to world premieres only (as in games NOT previously announced in an official capacity):
Resident Evil 8
Silent Hill
Gran Turismo
Horizon 2
Bluepoint's new game
Housemarque's new game

These are the only things I feel at least somewhat confident in. Insomniac's next game is possible, and perhaps a tease of whatever Santa Monica's doing, but I wouldn't hold my breath on those as I would for anything in the list. I do not think at all that Final Fantasy XVI will be here, but I'm open to being pleasantly surprised.

Speaking of which...

I really liked the look of the Housemarque new game. It looks like a (forgive me, because I too hate that term) "rogue-like" procedural game, where the whole game world completely changes at every time loop iteration.

Wow...A lot to take in! Started brilliantly for me with Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank, and of course GT7. The middle section was so, so with a couple of interesting smaller games. Demon's Souls only teased with a CG? trailer was surprising too. Ending with Horizon was no brainer and looked 5 notches above anything else.

The last third was were it tailed off a bit and then the console reveal (teased between each game). I'm personally not bothered what a console looks like at the end of the day but I didn't think Sony would go this route TBH. It looks practically awkward to use horizontal and just isn't right to me and means it won't be easy to accommodate on my TV unit.

As for the digital version...I don't get it if the only difference is the disc drive? I mean a $20 saving for them. I guess it might put paid to $399 for the Disc version unless the digital version has other cuts and is designed to compete with Lockhart?

Will take a breather to look at some trailers/videos and read others opinions here and elsewhere.

So true. Have been saying that too. 9-12TF is only enough to go up to 4K native. It leaves little to no room to actually significantly improve anything else. The raytracing will work off a separate chip from th actual Gpu. The SSD will increase loading speeds....16GB ram is pathetic.

It really does look like higher res PS4 games.
You are forgetting it's RDNA2 vs GCN...It's a bigger jump than the numbers alone...Did you not see the transitions in Ratchet? The PS5 can warp open world levels seamlessly and this is just the start!
