Is this a serious comparison?Exaggeration much? What's next? Xbox fanboys saying Sony lied about their June event? They said they were going to do it 4th of June! How many other things will they lie about?
They've been very transparent about the Series X and their next gen strategy and that's good, but their problem has been overhyping and overselling things and the constant "Yeah, that *insert something PS5 related* was good, but ours will be better" is starting to look like they just want to make it into the conversation. But hey, we'll see if they live up to the hype in July.sony did have valid reason to postpone june 4th date and it was just for a week ms says it will do show every month and didn't deliver this month and reason is unknown? this type of behaviour is repeating because they can't keep theyr mouth shut.
These people really start to look like they're between a rock and a hard place.

Plans change. So they lied about that in may, how many other thing they will lie about.
compared to sony ms have been vague we almost know everything about tech inside ps5 we only know general numbers about xsex but very little about velocity arch and it specifics what 100GB instant access means? sampler feedback? i mean give us numbers how much streaming data(GB/s) it could give? all ms have been doing is responding to what sony is doing with vague PR talk. They've been very transparent about the Series X and their next gen strategy and that's good, but their problem has been overhyping and overselling things and the constant "Yeah, that *insert something PS5 related* was good, but ours will be better" is starting to look like they just want to make it into the conversation. The funny thing is that every year is "Xbox's best/bigget E3 ever", hope to hear something like that this year too, it's almost like a tradition.
The question is what happened to the "showcase" they planned for June.
Plans change.
I know, it appeared quietly, but they had an ID@Xbox showcase on youtube a few days ago. Maybe that was it?
But they are minding their own business, what was the last time you saw Sony PR reacting on Twitter about something MS did or said like Aaron has been doing? Funny thing is that MS isn't even reacting to Sony per se, they are doing that in response to the praise many people in the gaming industry are doing to PS5 features. The point I was trying to make is that Sony, similar to ms can make digs at the competition, that's normal. I liked that Sony video, and yes, ms dropped the ball massively at that time. Point is that some people in this thread are trying to portray Sony as company that is just minding their own business and that It is only petty US corpo that talks about their competition.
I can't see MS being worried about Sony if they're going to show that stuff.
Well yeah it could be. If correct, I guess the MS definition of "showcase" is a little different to mine then.

Epic Games calls PS5 a "masterpiece of systems design" in new interview with Official PlayStation Magazine
The studio's VP of engineering call it "a huge leap in computing and graphics performance"www.gamesradar.com
Cerny didn't design the PS3, the YLOD was nowhere near as widespread of an issue as RROD, and the "Sony spreading bullshots" is a reference to the Killzone 2 trailer.....which was 15 years ago. If you're going to troll, try harder.but historically Xbox engineers are "better", MS had "only" one major hardware disaster (rrod) while Sony (and Cerny ) Delivered YOLD and followed up with "jet engine" PS4. Xbox on their other hand had OG Xbox, solid Xbox one (underpowered but without too many issues) and then state of the art xbonex. Then we have got xbsex, that even AMD said will be "pinnacle of innovation" coming this gen.
also when talking about bullshit, isn't Sony quite of famous for spreading "bullshots" and presenting Gci trailers that are not matching the final product?
He has spoken about gaming related issues many times, so yes, he has all the hallmarks of caring about the subject.I bet it was just simply a writer that fed Oliver those lines for PS5. Don't think he's a gamer in the slightest as he's never publicly said he was lol.
John Oliver shouts out the "alien's waffle maker" or "penguin designed by Apple" PS5 and Horizon Forbidden West on his show this week. LOL!

I really doubt that, look how much effort they made preventing air vents to be blocked. My prediction on the cooling solution, it's fanless.
Hmm, a random Tuesday. Is Dr. Strange still alive?Tomorrow is last day for promised xbox 20/20 every month !
May: Aaron says there will be something to show every month about Xbox.it was clarifes by greenberg on June 8th that there will be no event in June
Judging by those air vents on each side of the PCB, they will most probably use more than one fan.Highly unlikely with the type of power envelopes we're expecting here. I think it will use a single large fan running that < 1000 rpm even at full speed, and make close to no sound.
Looks like he 'forgot' his own mention of monthly presentations. These people really start to look like they're between a rock and a hard place.

If it appears, it will most probably be a R&C-like proof of concept this time.Any chance for another load time demo on Xbox July event? Since this is one of Playstation's major advantage maybe Xbox would want to showcase their SSD speed as well.
Nah, Sony paid him to say that!!![]()

Yep, but it really looks bad and amateur when you promise a monthly showing and right at the next month there's nothing.Plans change.
i mean its clear they have a close relationship considering Unreal engine seems to be made with PS5 in mindNah, Sony paid him to say that!!![]()

They can use a large centrifugal fan design, like seen in pretty much all laptops, that will funnel air onto the heatsinks.Judging by those air vents on each side of the PCB, they will most probably use more than one fan.

It's really interesting how both took such different approaches to reach their goals: MS went the PC brute force way with few customisations while Sony focused on mitigating bottlenecks and improving I/O with a lot of customisations. What really matters in the end is how close performance-wise these machines are and easy to develop for, so the ball is in the devs' court to show what they can do.Wow quite the praise coming from them. Cant wait for that full article.
MS just took the traditional approach and that is the way its always been so why not?
Who knew Mark Cerny would go this direction? Sony has typically rolled dice on doing different things but last gen, and vita, Cerny brought them back around to normalcy.
Its fascinating how many bits of custom HW they used to let the SOC function closer to its actual numbers.
I said it before but I think they did change HW design going forward for consoles.
Thats not to take away from MS console. My jaw hit the floor when they announced 12TF RDNA2 and they also have a bit of custom HW.
I guess we are going to have to get used to Alex covering PS5 content :/

oh yeah, sure you are curious about xbox, especially looking at your tag.Link? I'm curious what the excuse was...
Yeah but that is marketing speak from Greenberg.
In May MS announced the 20/20 events with a "showcase" every month of the year. They did one in May... ok it was awful.
But having announced and done one in May, they presumably had a plan to do something they could call a "showcase" in June. I can't believe they'd announce monthly showcases and literally not have anything for the second one a month later.
Greenberg is saying they haven't put back the July digital event - he uses careful wording there. That may be true in a sense - what they're planning to show in July was always planned for July.
The question is what happened to the "showcase" they planned for June.
I guess it could've just been that June was a bad month, that they didn't think what they were going to show would look good relative to Sony or just that what they were gonna show was weak.
There were rumours the June show was about services, some kind of console reveal or something not gameplay related. Perhaps they figured that after the May event, showing something weak the same month as Sony revealed a ton of games would look bad so they ditched it.
I'm still curious why MS's strategy isn't to lead with their big titles. I mean they've got a lot of studios and games to show - why would they lead with crap like they showed in May and a "non-game" event for June?
Anyway, in July we're expecting Halo, Forza, fable, probably something about Gears, whatever obsidian are going to do, Hellblade, more Flight Sim (lol ok), and then 2 or 3 games from those newly formed studios.
Mix that in with a bunch of 3rd/2nd party stuff - Elden Ring maybe, more AC, more Medium, more Scorn, Cyberpunk etc
That should be a super stacked lineup. I mean MS are producing a lineup of games so huge that it doesn't matter when they announce it. It'll be hit after hit and megaton after megaton right?
I can't see MS being worried about Sony if they're going to show that stuff. How bad can the June showcase have been and why didn't they sweeten it with something from one of those major games they've got cooking just to maintain the schedule they announced just a month before? It makes MS look amateurish and disorganised.
Between the games MS are known and rumoured to have and their desire to be aggressive on price they should just be out there and showing it all while Sony are sleeping after blowing their load.
The later it goes into July the more people will speculate what's up. I mean the May thing was May 7. They talked about not having anything for June around June 9. So we should be seeing the July thing on or around the 7th....
There will be news we are planning to revel/release, but not an Inside Xbox show next month.

"I don't know... I doubt... I'm not sure it will... I will be (pleasantly) surprised if this is true..."
I understand the skepticism but It's hard when every minute there is something to be skeptical about...
Yeah. But what MS has is like a super tanker full of gaming oil. You don't turn that ship around unless there's a good reason.
That's the question - what is the reason?
Well yeah it could be. If correct, I guess the MS definition of "showcase" is a little different to mine then.
I mean I'd say what Sony did was a "showcase" - you know, people waiting around for it on twitch and YouTube, and making plans around it as an event.
It's difficult to do something of that scale every month of course. But MS chose to describe it that way and offer a monthly schedule.
If it's just gonna be the normal gaming content on YouTube then "showcase" is mis-marketing in my opinion. Not a first for MS but disappointing nonetheless.
again, they never changed any plans, they never said that they will have an event. seriously. stop with this crap. Is this your job? Like spreading FUD and bullshit about xbox?
Wow quite the praise coming from them. Cant wait for that full article.

Amazingly we got the the first PlayStation 3 Hardware only 2 months ago, so what you see here is just two months of work bringing Unreal Engine 3 up and running.
And this was so fast because we have a lot of experience with PC development and all that knowledge was immediately applicable to PlayStation 3 which has a very nice development pipeline, OpenGL based you know CG shading language based and all standard-based, it's been very easy to write for.
MS said there would be a showcase every month.
If I post the evidence will you request to ban yourself?
he said on twiter that xbox will have event every month and then back tracked
Well, a video is exactly doing that."we will be showcasing what happens next in the world of Xbox".
Every month will bring something different.
he said on twiter that xbox will have event every month and then back trackedTell, me where did they say that they will have an event in June? Where? They even said the OPPOSITE!
high clocks is actually fast not brute force, brute force when you do most of the calculations on cpu or gpu without specialized hw like blaster said.I think it's actually the opposite. PS5 having very high clocks is brute force. XSX is highly customized, too.
