On the other hand, I hope is not expected from them to go there with their money only to make MS a favor. Of course they may had directions on how to talk about the product, which happens for any tech analysis as products are sent for free. They will tell you not to deliberately say that it's a fucking piece of garbage, but if they know their product and it's good they shouldn't tape your mouth.Thanks to all.

It is known (and criticized) that DF has had exclusive access to Project Scorpio in the past. I think it was 2017 (I can be wrong). And travel and subsistence have been paid. Which sparked protests and accusations. But that is not a novelty. 10 years ago there was already a scandal related to DF and MS. It is an open secret ... DF lacks competition. It is clear that some pay better than others. You just have to look a little.
Just saying I don't know why this should be criticized while it's how tech analysis works, but not in every case you are not allowed to critique something.

Everyone in the US knows a huge portion of that was 10s of millions of fiscally irresponsible Americans getting unemployment checks higher than their wages.
The gravy train is ending soon and we are facing a huge economic issue in the coming months. Selling new hardware is going to be interesting to say the least. (only speaking from the US perspective, not as knowledgeable about what is happening or about to happen elsewhere.. but the USA is absolutely fucked)

SONY doesn't care so much about gamer but does care about their gaming department which is their best source of income. For MS, xbox is one of many branches and for sure, not most important one.

Yeah.. and I'm one of those responsible people earning just a bit more busting my butt than those people doing absolutely nothing! The thing is, when they try to get jobs later, companies will look at whether they could have worked and chose not to. Not sure how that's going to go.
As for the fiscally irresponsible, they'll just put it on Credit if they have any left and list that they have Covid Hardship and cannot pay yet.

I remember folks in this thread saying COVID will peak in April and it's not bad its just a flue everything will be easy.
Well fuck that right? Scientific studies seem to point to permanent/long term damages to lungs, kidneys and the brain and even after weak forms of infections.
So lets just hope this thing won't be back every season/year and we will find ways to lessen the impact of covid soon.

They do great work when they really want to.
But again I have said this time and time again, there are reasons Xbox flies them out to give them exclusive first deep dives and will leave it at that.

PSN Now with similar terms of gamepass will sabotage their profits. Sony doesn't need that when then sell 2-3 million copies of $60-70 full price along with collectors edition within a week. That's 180 million within few days for one single game. They've sold over 1.4 billion games on PS4, and that keeps the PS Plus flowing.
Sony aren't providing mediocre games to rush for such desperate business models, and they're handling PS Now pretty smartly.
Along with their big hitters and hundreds of retro games. I personally won't even consider neither of them.

Blurry Craig doesn't wear masks.. masks are important. You know.. really important. Yuge, really.. in certain situations. Blurry Craig thinks older hardware doesn't hold back newer gen games. I fully support a unified gaming platforms. One, centrally governed way of doing things. If you disagree, you don't want to make gaming great again. I mean, I could cut off funding for gaming divisions... but I don't. I believe in the end.. people will make the right decisions.

The reality is the numbers just wouldn't work that way at scale. The subscription would net more revenue in a 1 yr period once the base was big enough. The most they are making on their best selling software is about 600m, and that does not figure in retailer cuts or discounts. Even a $5 subscription could net more if the sell through is high enough ($60 x 50m would be 3 billion a year), more than enough to match revenue with 5 top selling games (how many times has Sony released 5 10m+ selling games in one calendar year?). A download only Sony vault could basically print money, especially if they waited a year before adding new games/dlc to the vault. Sony could do this better than anyone else due to the critical acclaim of their studios.

No need to go all conspiracy on it I think. I mean even the articles that pointed to PS5 production woes seem to be made up or maybe too dated even when all those were solved etc. but if either console devkits had some kind of issues, it would have been leaked by now. Look at how Bloomberg article made us think PS5 could be scarce, but now Sony's own official forecasts revise the number to 10 millions of units, placing it as the most produced console ever for the first year.... All that smoke and there wasn't even a fire, but it was in fact smoke blowing in those articles' authors asses.

These measurements would mean the PS5 is almost twice the size of the XSX in volume. They'll probably have a slim version in 1-2 years
