It sucks when MS does it, it sucks when Sony does it.. it particularly sucks when they pit against each other and play tit for tat paying for content to be removed from each other's systems... which is looking like what is going to happen this gen with the news that Sony went on a buying spree (surely MS will combat that with their own.)
Now explain why yourself and most of this forum for some reason defend this like it doesn't suck? lol

Like I've said many times before to my friend Veteran. SONY doesn't give a fuck about PC gamers, they didnt want to waste time for this port. They just want make a little bit of money and show PC players that they could play that games 3 years earlier with not loosing so much and next part will be PS5 only ( for at least until PS6
)

Havnt seen any reports detailing 20 hours workdays. They mention 12 and above and there are plenty pf jobs that have this during Holidays. But apparently crunch was the worst on Uncharted 2 at ND.
People are getting burnt out, thats a fact (and not just at ND). But dont make ND out as some kind of slave driver. Most people in this industry are highly passionate and are working on that passion on their own volition. Its a huge discredit to these people, to make them out as simple slaves following orders.
Im not pointing towards you specifically, but I hear this shit getting endlessly mulled over and it mostly comes from people who use anything to discredit work of their "opposing box".
Im pretty sure Sony knows this (unsustainability of AAA games) and thats why they focused their efforts on more developer ease. (We hear devs gushing over the PS5).
I hope we hear more about this tech in detail and what PS5 is capable of in making the lives of devs easier.

I don't like vr but it is a thing, it has a large following, xbox does not have that.
Exclusives, Sony's are by all metrics just better,
Even the controller is giving you more options this time compared to Microsoft's one.
You have the new sound engine which allows users to get the best audio effects with just your bog-standard setup, no special gear required.
the best ssd that can't be matched in performance will make a big difference in how games are played 6 seconds vs instant, going by the Microsoft quick feature resume and spiderman open world one.
The ssd will fundamentally change how games are designed.
i am just trying to think what Microsoft is actually bringing to the table as in games or personal experiences when you play said games.
the hardware performance gap is even smaller this generation, regular people won't notice the difference at 800% zoomed-in but they will recognize and appreciate seeing god of war 2 load in less than a second.

As far as I can see it, Sony stuck Horizon Zero Dawn on PC just to tempt PC gamers into buying a Ps5 to play the sequel next year. The entire thing is one big marketing ploy for the next Playstation.

I'm sorry for myself either but at 36yo buying a console just to play a bunch of games is something I can go over, with all due respect for the value of those experiences, specifically I would have loved to play God of War, TLOU2, Uncharted 4 and Ghost, 2 of which have been released recently, all the rest can be enjoyed with better value on PC. I really love the customizable part of PC gaming: mods, reshade etc.. And the top quality graphic it can issue (resolution, special effects, framerate and recently Raytracing). I can advice many examples as how PC gaming can be a better value, if you like racing games fir example you can enjoy games like Assetto Corsa, but obviously that's me, i like customize my games, adding mods etc. Maybe somebody else doesn't and likes a more immediate approach

You are heavily concentrated only on one part of the story - the fact that platform of choice for some people will be excluded, and they are frustrated by this.
One of the best time for gaming - PS2 doen't really had a competition of platformholders, like 80+% games went to PS2 only. But such situation reduced cost to make games (as you need to make only one version of game and not 2-3) and as such increased competition of content, increasing its quality.

I mean, isn't that to be expected? The PS4 pro hits checkerboard 4k at 30FPS, and that's a 4.2 TFLOP Polaris/Vega hybrid GPU. Full 4k at 60FPS will require something like 4 times the raw processing power (so 16.8 TFLOP) and likely a massive jump in GPU bandwidth. That's not even including the increased graphics options over the PS4 version.
Yeah the 2080ti has much higher GPU IPC over the PS4 Pro GPU as well, but the PS4 game is using every trick in the book to target a very specific set of specifications on a hyper-efficient low level API.

I mainly game on my ps5 on exclusives minus stuff like warzone, occasional fortnite, etc all tht are free. If the exclusives don't catch my attention I'm not buying your system. Luckily PS5 has me covered.

Sony pushed it through Marvel and most probably through Crystal Dynamic.

It's also widely known that not all monopolies are "bad" and that competition is not always a good thing.
Prolonged price wars for example lead to a long-term damage to the industry and stagnation of progress. They just burn a lot of money to nowhere, to the bliss of consumers, who get products way below reasonable "fair" prices.
It's their choice - everyone has right to disagree.
In reality it comes down to money - this "special deals" (which not necessary would include paycheck) is a cooperative deal benefitting both sides. It's not like it is a forced deal or there is even a hint of a monopoly - there are still PC and mobile markets that are completely open.
On exclusive deal platformholder got exclusive, increasing lucrativeness of its platform. Developer got money, reduced royalty, technical support and/or marketing - effectively he is paid directly or indirectly. And it has choice - either get this money or go multiplatform and try to get money off additional platforms. And it's known that not for all games second option is a good choice.
And from rational consumer viewpoint it's anti-consumer to try to force a game, that will get 80-90+% of sales on one platform, to go multiplatform, as it pushes money down to the sink of non-performing versions instead of spending them unto improving quality of game.
It's been floating around that sony have some kind of say when it comes to spiderman in the games now.

There's no way Marvel gave up control over Spiderman for videogames the same way they wish they hadn't for movies. Sony and Marvel have a relationship that Marvel cares about, only because in the late 90s they sold rights they really shouldn't have. Either way it's all leverage multi-billion dollar companies have over each other.. none of it benefiting consumers.. and the idea that Marvel would just decide not to use Spiderman without Sony saying so is just brain dead stupid at face value.

Three possible reasons :
1. My polish studio isn't good at programming
2. XSX hardware/software has some problem
3. XSX is PS3-cell like hard to program

I don't think the two are unconnected. Sony own the rights to Spiderman and have done since 1985 apparently. It is what it is.
They did a deal with Marvel to allow him in the crossover movies is all.

I heard that for the longest time Microsoft was having issues sending dev kits out while Sony didn't have any problems getting them to developers.
With that said I think dev kits might be problem rather than the retail hardware itself. If the retail console had severe hardware they would definitely delay the launch of the system. I honestly don't believe Microsoft would release another system with broken hardware after the RROD incident.

I dont know anybody whom jumps into another ecosystem for purely of performance reasons, so whom are these ps4 owners that now magically would buy xsex because of tflops
Outside of usa most people just buy Playstation as usually, maybe super casuals will buy the cheapest one but even cod& FIFA gang buys what their friends buy and that is most likely what they have now
In my country 75-90% of console gamers have ps4 and rest have xbox(not counting switch), difficult to change that.
I just wonder, are there even that many gamers that change brand between gens, I know some that came from xbox to ps4, but that is because of games, not performance

I don't think it is a problem where the console/dev kit just dies like the RROD. This may be just them not having some API doing well, or something that is giving them trouble on using RT hardware. It is odd that games are dropping/delaying features before the launch of the console. They really look behind the schedule.
