Glad Mr. Shin isn't a member of GAF or he'll get mass reported by the horde and get banned for using that sensitive word. :lollipop_tears_of_joy:

Since most ppl are saying sept 9 as the date then I would expect announcement by Monday the latest..
If still nothing by then I would give up on checking altogether and just let whatever comes comes.

Can't shake the feeling that the Xbox Series X is going to get delayed into 2021.
No price, no release date, no gameplay of any titles, basically no games for launch, no advertising. They're struggling with the decision IMO.

I mean if I get banned I get banned not using it to taunt anyone its the wording I was told.

Nobody cared about "brute force" until the 9TF trolls decided to instigate and then get banned for it. I have a feeling the staff is doing it out of principal at this point, almost like a teacher in a romper room sticking to a set script for the kids until they "figure it out."

In fact, PC users have been using "brute force" for well, forever now, essentially their badge of honor over lesser spec machines, consoles or PC.

Why all of a sudden is the PS5 a inferior I/o solution to the NVIDIA solution? I keep seeing people talking crap about PC will smash the PS5 because of RTX I/o. I'm genuinely interested to hear if this is actually fact or just some PC or Xbox idiots spouting nonsense. Will PC be able to use it's full 7GB like the PS5 can use it's 5.5gbps?. This is what I gathered was the major difference between the SSD's. All Nvidia crap sounds like is helping the CPU by offloading it to the GPU?.

So Richard from Digital Foundry thinks the new RTX 3070 pricing announcement makes buying an XSX somewhat pointless. But he thinks the PS5 will be in a class of its own due to its exclusives.

I have to agree with him.

I would like to add that the PS5s blazing fast I/O could be interesting to some people. Like if everything runs smooth on the system and loads extremely quickly that could be a reason to pick it up instead of going for a few more pixels and framerate (comparison to the XSX BTW).

It's an information they got from @ironmanps5 on twitter. Same with that false pre-order date from that italian dude everyone idiotically went crazy about. So much so that PS head of marketing had to comment about it. That is what everyone is repeating. Most likely false because Jeff would know as he leaked the first event but even he is not sure anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed it to October.

Regarding Alex the guy is sick he insist the 14 GB/s is the average decompression when is just the max of data the GPUs can decompress in that
department PS5 is better with 22 GB/s but looks almost impossible the data is compressed in so aggressive way also that data in some moment
needs to be access for the CPU, anything is free so we need to know what is the cost for the GPU while is doing that and finally the IO of PS5 has
more than a better decompressor which doesn't use the CPU also has things like cache scrubber.

Alex in the eyes of the Sony faithful:

Seriously, the way some people attack this guy. Even stalking his socials, LOL.

And they act like every PC will use NVIDIA cards, while the truth is that majority of PC gamers play on old ass hardware.

This rtx i/o would only matter if every/most PCs would use these nvidia cards that support it, nobody would have amd/intel ones or older than last gen nvidia.

Weird fetish for many to try to brutely force PCs and consoles into the same slot/category

RTX IO and Windows Direct Storage will just be the PC version of what the next gen consoles are doing for I/O.
AMD RDNA2 will have something simIlar to RTXIO.

PS5 is 5.5 GB/s and has lots of custom hardware, and custom software for IO. Best in class and all PS5s will have it.
XSX is 2.4 GB/s and has less custom hardware, also has custom software for IO. Slower than PS5, but still uniform on all XSX.
Both have custom methods of compression too of course.

RTX cards (RTXIO) seems to use the GPU to offload the normal work the CPU has to do. Somewhat different approach.
Could have some custom accelerators, but if its just the GPU doing the work, thats less efficient than the consoles.
That's why the PS5 has its custom I/O unit, to free up the APU from any of that work.

RTXIO can supposedly 2x the raw I/O speed via compression, but will depend on what drive a user has.
Top of the line M.2 SSDs will be 7 GB/s.

Its all just different ways of using I/O to feed the system faster and eliminate bottlenecks.

PS5 is still best, and for now XSX is still better than RTXIO because there's a much lower baseline on PCs and thus games will have to be designed for SATA SSDs or even HDDs. PC games will not force users to have PCIe 3/4 SSDs for years. So for now, the XSX IO is still better than PC IO, and PS5 is even better.

DirectStorage is supported by Big Navi and Xe as well, not to mention Turing. This is the tech that future games will be built on for the duration of the upcoming gen.

Who do you think is gonna reveal price first? Will you surprised if this price battle moves into October?

I cant believe we are at Sept 2nd and how much we still dont know so I assume everythings on the table.

I wouldnt be shocked if one puts a video up tonight and reveals everything all the way to one or both consoles get pushed to Spring.

Nothing would surprise me anymore.

If you're asking me to guess I say 90% we know the price of Xbox first again heard a couple of months again Sony wants to bleed them out, it was a war of attrition.

I bet Sony will open "reservations" and will not say a price. PS5 prices will be billed to users upon delivery.

I'm only half joking. It honestly wouldn't shock me now if Sony opens pre-orders with no price listed.

The fact that you guys have spent an entire week talking about the most pointless thing in the universe makes me wonder what the hell is going on.

Of all the things to bloody nitpick about, people found a couple of seconds in an amazing Ratchet and clank demo to have a god damn moan about.

I see perfection when i watch the R+c demo, i just do not understand at all what people are moaning about.

The truth is, i have stopped reading half the posts in regards to it, as soon as i saw time this, time that i was like wtf and stopped paying attention.

all of it seems like a waste of time, i am not interested in it and i very much doubt the fast majority of readers are interested in it either.

The way this price war's going, we're probably gonna get that price reveal when we get our bank statements lol.
