May I ask why you think it's a crap technology?
Why would they design an APU with 40CUs just for a revision of a devkit? If the target specs are significantly higher (11TF+) then such APU would be pointless. You need more CUs to reach those targets. Why even bother with the less CU design?

I'm assuming the specs will end up being quite close for both Scarlet and PS5. We'll see. But I think the most interesting thing will be pricing. I'm willing to bet both will be sold at some loss initially.
So which company is willing to take the bigger hit? Microsoft as a whole has undoubtedly larger war coffers, but how much the rest of the company is willing to subsidise the gaming division is unclear. Sony, the corporation, may not be in the best shape, but SIE has been printing money the whole gen - OTOH, surely they don't want another PS3.

Spec I want to see is hard drive size. Easy win in the battle would be to be able to put 2TB on the Box for the same price. You push your digital game sales (or gamepass for microsoft), and the cost should naturally drop over time, while you convince more casual consumers to buy your box with the bigger number.

Three years ago the stock was worth 28 dollars per share, now it's worth nearly 66 dollars. With a market value of over 80 billion and continuously rising. It is a 'strong buy' with every analyst and they are due to have profits of about 8 billion this year to add to their cash pile.
They have cash or equivalents of about 25 billion, rising to 33 / 34 billion by FYE.
If things keep going like this, they will soon be worth twice what Nintendo is.....

Just WOW, 12TF RDNA2 should destroy even 1080ti / RTX 2080. Now I see why MS want to release lockhart as well, because with specs like these anaconda will cost 599$ if not more, so much cheaper console is needed. I know most people (myself included) would only want anaconda, because lockhart can limit developers vision but the more people will buy these consoles, the more games we will see. When it comes to RAM I'm surprised it's only 16GB, but I think thanks to SDD developers will start to use RAM way more efficiently, because they will no longer need to cache so much data.
Something tells me the gap between xbox4 vs xbox one will be even bigger than xbox 360 vs xbox one (and of course the same goes for PS5).

I doubt 12TF though. I think PS5 will be slightly downclocked version of 5700XT. I have no idea about the Scarlett though. And 16G of RAM has been confirmed on my end as well.

I expect sony console to be slower than xbox, maybe 10TF, so it should be somewhere between 1080 and 1080ti like you are saying. Sony however dont need to win TFLOPS war, because MANY people will buy their console anyway just to play playstation exclusives. With 10TF maybe sony will not even need more affordable SKU, as long the price will be not higher than 500$.

Those are great numbers for the bean counters and what-have-you, but they're still small compared to Microsoft's total net worth. Out of the two MS's the only company of comparable enough size to, say, Apple or Google in terms of net worth. It's been that way for a while now.
But yes, Sony's not in some dire predicament like they were maybe say 2010-2013 or so. After the massive restructuring they started turning things around a lot. They aren't in jeopardy of disappearing if PS5 underperforms, that's for sure.

Thts all great but Microsofts gaming division wishes it was in Sony's position of revenue and profit. Just bcus Microsoft as a company (mainly due to non gaming applications) is a trillion dollar company doesn't mean their gaming division has access to tht money so let's stay on topic. Sony gaming makes more than Microsoft gaming and thts factual. Both have budget projections and boundaries, thts how smart business works. Not unlimited funds. Sony has turned things around, Playstation is basically the face of Sony Corp and they are all in on tht so it's not same situation. Definitely far from diré, shit Sony is the shit in gaming now and reaping good profits.

Guys no matter if anaconda 12TF leak is correct I really expect MS console to be extremely powerful. MS has to win TFLOPS war, but most importanly they are no longer need to make compromises. Xbox one was build with all people in mind, however with 2 SKU units MS will be able to offer cheap console, and also powerful console build with enthusiast in mind. I will easily pay even 700$ as long MS will deliver, and 12TF is more than I expected anyway.
