Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
It's a term used by products that ship to retailers.Uh....I've never heard that description of "gold master" before and I've run development teams. Not GAME development, but development teams all the same. Has the lingo changed over the past couple of years to mean...this? Sounds to me more like they're describing a final candidate or even a test build. I mean, I get that you still find issues before release that may need patches or you might even find some improvements that can be made, but "gold master" usually meant you release the game code to manufacturing and stuff like that? I'm VERY confused. Or...is this just a BS explanation when in fact they just need more time (which is fine!)
Vast majority of software development doesn't use the term because it's specific to stuff like games and Windows and Office at this point.
