Unit on display had no power lights on and only *one* cable in back, which I'm not sure what it was. Of course minimum cabling has to be power and HDMI. So actual PS5 unit was hidden.

TV was XBR-43X800H.

No XSX or XSS on display. Asked about it, and employee said it was coming later.

PS5 was playing promotional video loop of games.

With all the local bestbuys in San Diego, the main one in mission valley has no PS5 anything. But if I go to any target or Walmart it's ps5 central
 
Sony charged me for and shipped my PS5 yesterday afternoon. And the sweet misery of it all is that it's currently sitting in a facility 1 hour away from me:

This is not true, PS3 AND 4 have always had Gigabit ports.
 
On the topic of the download speeds, i suspect the speeds will drop slightly when the servers just start to have a lot more people connected to it and downloading small files constantly. CPU's also are a bottleneck in downloads to unsurprised to see a good improvement in downloads.
 
These PS5 games are looking amazing, I can't wait. My PS5 just shipped too!

XSX is looking pretty good, I might grab one in a couple of years when the bigger exclusives start rolling out. I also hope they expand their BC. I'm trying to play Otogi in 4K

Because Sony can show games that show how good it is. No need for them to talk about arbitrary hardware features and performance figures - they might do that if they didn't have games to show I suppose.
 
I just spent some time testing out the Pulse headset against my Sennheiser HD650 reference headphones. For those who aren't familiar with headphones, this is a $500 set vs the $100 Pulse.

As expected, the Sennheisers have a bit more clarity across the entire frequency spectrum, but the Pulse impressively holds up in this comparison. They have a bit more bottom end, but it's not boomy. It's a very punchy and pleasant to listen to low end to everything. There is a very nice top end clarity (the Sennheisers win here), and the mids don't seem scooped like most headphones like Beats for example. The soundstage seems to be pretty good too. Not as good as open back headphones like the HD650, but it's still good. I'm really excited to hear this in the 3D audio aspect, because I'd happily use these to listen to music. If you're looking to get a new pair of headphones, I'd definitely recommend them, especially for $100.

Also forgot to add this, but they are very comfy too. Some headphones give me a headache because I wear glasses and play games, but I actually forgot I was even wearing anything for a minute. No signs of fatigue or headaches after wearing these for a while.

VRS is a good idea, but the question is 10 % really worth the texture down grade over upscaling, especaily when used so liberally. Jury is out.

It's not a question of VRS vs upscaling. Upscaling increases IQ (provided you're doing it right). VRS is a more or less free performance optimization that shouldn't significantly diminish IQ (provided you're doing it right).

These are two different things addressing two very different problems.

I agree. My comparisons for the Pulse were the Sony MDR 7506 and the Sony WH1000 XM3.

I think the Pulse headset sounds very good and feels very good for the $100 price. Good gaming headset.

I like how they fit tight to block out outside noise. The range is very good too. Clear and crisp, yet not imbalanced.

And the one size fits all flexible headband design is actually pretty good, comfy.

Of course for more money there are better sounding headsets available, but for the price... the Pulse headset is a solid value.

So I learned some interesting stuff from a dev. Apparently the Xbox Series X/S SSD is faster because it's super low latency.It also has a hardware decompression block and 20mb of cache kinda like infinity cache for that purpose.Yet Xbox Series X/S has less channels and has lower data bandwidth. PS5's SSD is low latency also but not as low as Xbox Series X/S. PS5 makes that up with more channel that have a higher bandwidth transferring Data assets from the SSD. PS5 I/O Decompression Can decompress data faster and larger bandwidth of Data. PS5 should be able to load memory faster and thus load games faster.

Thanks for this, I have a huge head and regular headsets cause me a lot of discomfort so I'm really picky about what to choose, from the pictures the Pulse 3D's looked like they would be tight and uncomfortable but this is good to know.

What's your point? So, the slower ssd beats faster raw speed ssd just because lower latency? Or are they the same performance? When talking about latency wise, ps5 should have lower, because of additional silicons which offload cpu's overhead thus reduce latency. If xbox should have the same why don't they talk about them, it's not like Microsoft to keep silent about their hardware.

MS has talked about their Hardware decompression and how it massively reduces CPU load. This was known in the initial spec reveal in fact.

We have speculated about MS and Sony's SSD solutions in this thread for a while now. I finally got a dev tell me the difference of those solutions. That was the point.

Does anyone ever use these interpolation modes on their TVs? Well maybe your brother does, but I'm pretty sure he'll turn it off quickly 😅

Otherwise I mean.. Why buy a really expensive high quality TV just to turn beautiful looking movies into looking like cheap soap operas? It's insane to me.
