Two groups hating each other? Ps fans and Xbox fans?
SE ditched Nintendo in early ff7 development because of the limited cartridge size and Sony was doing CDS for ps1, so they went to Sony.
Kinda of an ancient reference, not sure of what he means. There are newer and more clear things to use as reference for companies having issues with each other.

Just an example from the past of a third party partner souring a relationship with a console maker.
He probably means some third parties are going to take Microsoft's cheque next gen.

I already stated on this thread that Microsoft changes their narrative whenever they please, but they really haven't been about second and third party deals for a while and are more focused in investing in their first party. They could of course go back to 360 days with throwing cash at second and third party, but I somehow think they would rather buy more studios and invest into them.Both do it, but one company has more money to spend than the other. Playstation is vital to Sony, Xbox could disappear and it would hardly bother MS.
For Xbox to get money they need to convince shareholders that they are worth that money, with Sony huge lead this gen, I think they have even less to spend (they bought a bunch of indies that were nearly closing down, not AAA studios).

I was also not sure on this. Quick google search of Nintendo, Sony and Square Enix shows Nintendo basically told Square Enix to get fucked after SE did something with Sony.
So I feel like many money hats for Game Pass is going to sour realtions between Sony and devs. But eh. Who knows.

But he had some qualifiers on that. "Not much in it", "Things can change" etc.
If he came out and said "PS5 has 12.5tflops, and XSX has 12tflops" then I would say he has gone on the record with it. As it stands he has some outs like "I was told GCN tflops", "They updated the XSX dev kits after I got this info", etc.
That's nothing to hang your hat on. Like I said, the Reddit leak from 12 months ago nailed the XSX and Lockhart specs. And the fact that those specs havent changed in 12 months, kinda goes against Sony changing theirs in 6 months.

And despite Sony's lead it was Microsoft that appeared to garner favour with the big third parties EA/ubisoft so maybe it's that relationship changing.

So let's think back to why square 'ditched' Nintendo. It was solely because they didn't go for CDs. So is Osiris telling us one of the consoles is lacking a game changing feature or is he literally saying square are ditching one console.

1. Some guy saw leaked github data showing 9.2TF test scores from AMD. Supposedly accurate tests. Already taken down.
2. Everyone else including web site personalities who have leaked info say PS5 is similar, or even a bit more powerful than Series X. So assuming SeX is 12TF, then PS5 is 12TF or more. No actual spec claims. All vague claims by every insider in this camp.
Can't wait to see which side wins..... or nobody wins if PS5 ends up right in the middle at around 10-11 TF.

Don't forget 'we have calculated this is X2 the X gpu' which everyone takes as gospel means 12 tflops when it clearly doesn't as they would've said 2x the tflops. It's a metric ms have used so why ditch it now unless they are trying to be deliberately obtuse.
I guess they are waiting for Sony to release a number so they know if Sony are using special maths to convert RDNA to gcn and they will follow suit accordingly.
They go high now and Sony come out much lower but compete or better with in game performance and questions will be asked about ms ability to make consoles.
Your 3 tflops more and being outperformed is not a good look.

If it's the safe +/-, then PS5 can be around 10.8 to 13.2TF. Talk about casting a wide net.

It's more likely to either be 50% faster at the same power, or the same performance at half the power.
In other words, it's the exact difference in performance between TSMC 12FFN and 7FF. A Turing or Volta Die Shrink me thinks.

But you aren't praising or concuring the things I say that is true. I get nothing but attacks on things you think I say are inaccurate. How about addressingethomaz ? His comments seem to concur with mine (i.e. there is no advantage of unified memory that will see any gains that will make a console game outshine a PC variant of that game). And I would still take the 11G of VRAM and 16G of CPU RAM for a game.
Anything I say is just my opinion on things (if it's not a known fact, obviously).

said.My opinion is still the same: PC architecture is really bad for games, it can compete with a console only by brute-forcing things and developers not doing their job in optimizing the game.
In the long run probably the laziness will win, mainly because current graphics level is pretty "enough" for an average gamer, there is no need to invest in clever things when you can just up the resolution and say it is "better" now.
I also do not believe in latency-limited techniques that's why I oppose RT everywhere. Moore law is not helping anymore, only bandwidth-oriented stuff will survive in a long run.

Well, this is not news, it has been known for a long time, but the PC has a large margin of performance, besides the new API's help a little in this and allow to be in a competitive environment. My opinion is that nothing will change globally, the PC will not be left behind, on the contrary, more and more will help to develop gaming territories. Including, with the filing of Microsoft itself.

That's why the only way forward that will improve things is to make sure MSFT will not participate.
I think they understand it and will use other niches, like |Nintendo does.
Competition in console hardware doesn't make games better only worse and longer to develop.

Another insider pointing to PS5 having a slight edge over XsX. Looks more and more likely the github info does not show the whole story and leads to misleading statements.
Also mentioned that the Ray tracing technology in the PS5 has an edge.
Likely PS meeting at either the 13th or 20th of February (my take on some rumors).
