if it is 4TF and only meant to display games at 1080p max, then that wouldn't be dramatic... 5 or 6 would be better but a 4TF NDRA+ gpu would be roughly at the level of the Xbox One X's GPU, and that one is meant to display stuff at 4K.
add faster and more ram, and the new Zen2 CPU and you would have a very good 1080p machine

yeah people actually think the Cell Chip was some kind of miracle machine that could completely close the GPU and RAM gap the PS3 had.
spoiler, it couldn't... it certainly could do some stuff that would be harder to pull off on the 360 but for almost any engine out there the PS3 was running worse, even if it was the primarily focused console during development. EA started targeting PS3 first in order to make sure the games don't run like ass, but even still they usually ran better on 360 or at least were identical at best... most till were worse tho.

IF the GitHub Oberon leak is TRUE for PlayStation 5, then the console wouldn't even clock at 2000 MHz to even begin with, it would be 8 to 8.5 TF, not 9.2 as 2000 MHz is too much for a console and it would not work, that is a fact.

Well, if the PS5 is 8 TF or around it then you'll see many reports stating that it is way weaker than Xbox Series X, but lo and behold, at E3 2019, many developers are saying that the PlayStation 5 is more powerful than the Xbox Series X and TO ADD MORE FUEL TO THE FIRE, Arthur Gies from Polygon stated that the 12 TF for Xbox Series X was discussed and was known by developers at that time, so how is in that time, the PS5 is stronger? So PS5 must be stronger than 12 TF, and keep in mind, even in that time, both console manufacturers are pretty locked in with their main chips.

And Matt did NOT state Xbox is more powerful, he GUESSED it, it was his guesstimate, not a confirmation, he stated it back in June 2019 when he didn't have full info of both consoles and their targets, now he knows everything about the specs according to Kleegamefan, please stop spreading misinformation.

First off Mat and Klee didn't "deny" Github. Klee said it doesn't change what he's reported before, and mat said it's not indicative of final hardware.

And we've heard from plenty of other insiders that info on either system is scarce and "locked down" at this point. And final dev kits are just now going around, let alone final hardware

So how is it you think mat and Klee have such accurate info, that literally no one else has?

Why do you feel they have the "upper hand" in the face of a bunch of others reporting different?

It's all guesses at this point. Both Matt and Klee will tell you that.

Seems you are only taking the parts that you want to agree with then discarding and ridiculing others for taking and believing other parts.

So powerful almost every ps major exclusive passed the graphics mantle amongst themselves from killzone 2, God of War, Uncharted 2 to TLOU. Ppl couldn't even believe the live demo of uncharted 2 was real lol Killzone shitted all over Halo in graphics.

Yup more powerful head to head against any exclusive dev of their competitors :) facts not subjective. Go look back at those lens of truth and DF head to heads 😁

Didn't most developers just dump everything on the PowerPC Core and called it a day and that was the problem
I'm sure there was games that used the SPE's that actually surpassed the 360 versions but they was rare as fuck.

Halo 4 was a pretty damn amazing looking game, and that intro sequence still stands out as utterly gorgeous when played on an X. More of that, please.

Insomniac are working on an expanded Spider-Man for PS5. New storylines, new areas, new graphics tech. This is not a sequel and more ambitious than your typical next-gen update.

A friend of a friend was recently appointed as a producer.

Insomniac have multiple teams so I wouldn't know what's coming first.

Yeah I'm not understanding where that idea is coming from. Cell was a beast of a CPU for its time but really only 1st parties managed to realize most of its potential (similar to the Saturn where it was mainly SEGA's games that made most of the use of that architecture, besides notable 3rd party like Lobotomy and Treasure). 360's CPU was basically a cut-down version of the Cell, with a few other slight changes.

You can also argue that its optical delivery medium was better, since it had Blu-Ray built-in. But overall the PS3 and 360 are relativey even and 360 definitely had the edge in the GPU and unified RAM, as well as OS features and functionality. I think the impressive visuals of Sony late-gen PS3 exclusives (and MS's drop in pushing 1st-party content for 360 shortly after Kinect took off, except for the odd Halo or Forza here and there) lead people to misinterpret what the actual technical specs of both systems were.

Doesn't matter to the perception at the time. The Saturn also had several advantages over the PS1 in terms of raw power and potential, but that didn't matter to most because the PS1 was easier to develop for, had better SDK support, and a better ecosystem which encouraged more financial investment to push its hardware from 3rd parties as a whole.

When you look back at the overall library of PS3 and 360, as a whole, over 70% of multiplats looked and ran better than on PS3, and since multiplats make up the bulk of software library for both by far, the perception people got was that the 360 was the more powerful (and this was despite launching a year earlier). For people playing the systems now who aren't solely doing so for their exclusives, but with multiplats included, they're going to think, at the very least, the two systems are virtually equal. And when you weigh out their advantages over each other, they practically are.

And also there's the thing that a lot of best looking games for any gen, usually look that good due to artistic liberties carrying them strongly, so a lot of times it comes down to subjective factors. TLOU may've had more events happening on-screen and polygonal generation, but visually I like GT6 a lot more. But that's because sexy supercars impress me a lot more visually than bloodied zombie corpses.

1. Now name me ANY INSIDER OR SOURCE that agrees with the GitHub info?

2. I said they have the "upper hand" because they are: 1. Klee, who has sources directly from developers and has been verified TWICE by moderators and has been saying stuff that have been true like XSX reveal at VGAs....... 2. Matt is a moderator on ResetEra and his track record has been outstanding throughout the years, he was the 1st one who said PS5 will be having HW RT and he's right.

3. I said they have the upper hand because they are the only ones who posted on ResetEra that were able to talk about this GitHub leak, I'm sure there are many other insiders but NONE of them talked about it, and Matt said to talk PAST THE OBERON LEAK as it is not representative of the PS5, if that doesn't sound like DENIAL of the Oberon leak then I do not know what is, if he wasn't really denying like you say, why did he even talk about it? I'm sure he would have confirmed it if it was true just like he talked about PS5 having HW RT.

4. Klee in multiple posts downright DENIED the Oberon leak, he said the PS5 is a bit more powerful than Xbox Series X and it is over 12 RDNA TFs.

And to reaffirm it again, I do not think the only ones who have info are Klee and Matt, there are many others but I do not talk about them because they did not chime in and give meaningful and healthy amount of info, that is why I do not talk about them.

Now here's my question to you, NAME ME ONE INSIDER OR SOURCE THAT STATED OBERON LEAK IS PS5!

So why aren't the mods calling this kind of console warrior garbage out? I've seen them do it a few times with Xbox fanboys, this is as clear an example on the other side of an infraction. Enforce your 'ish fair and square, I say.
 
Just because you personally believe someone isn't wrong, doesn't mean they're correct. People do seem liking to conflate the reasons for one one thing is a thing, however. Usually the ones who don't understand how game dev or market realities work.

Generally don't like using report features; unfortunately I know why they exist tho. It's too bad some people can't help trying to turn these threads into a Gamespot forum like it's 2012, they get in the way of genuine discussion IMHO.

Tommy is not a credible source, nor have they gotten any actual vetting. To the rest, we actually don't have full context on what they were making comparisons to, i.e where were the PS5 and XSX dev kits at in maturity relative to the time of those initial claims? Because all of them have also said MS was running late on dev kits (to imply they were slower in getting updated dev kits out). Also some of them were making their earlier claims in reference to Google Stadia (which is GCN), saying both were over 10.7TF, so there's confusion on if their claims were RDNA-based or just in reference to GCN (keep in mind some people were even doubting if XSX was 12TF RDNA/RDNA2, and some still are. Even some of the same insiders you list were buying into the systems being 9/10TF just a week or so ago, you'd think people who are so certain of their info would be more unwavering).

None of that even matters however because this far out and we still don't have any tangible data pointing to the existence of a PS5 GPU chip that would provide the numbers those insiders are claiming. We have no tangible proof of any two chips that would provide those numbers and not be ridiculously underclocked below their sweet spots (i.e dual Oberons), and there's possibility that Gonzalo and Ariel are just earlier versions of Oberon, or names for Oberon when it was at older steppings.

This close to new systems coming out, you would think some existence of this other GPU chip (ether wholly replacing Oberon or complimenting it sensibly) would have surfaced, but datamining so far hasn't turned anything up. That should be worrying to some of these supposed claims for people taking a balanced look at it from both sides.

Funnily enough the only other logical idea that's been posted that keeps in line with both the GPU benchmark results and what insiders are claiming, came from someone who didn't even frame themselves as an insider, just a regular poster, who mentioned that the PS4 Pro's chip had some of its CUs disabled as well during its regression tests, so that the full chip didn't show in results.

Oberon tests already fit that as the RT blocks were disabled (they aren't needed for regression tests), and it's possible Sony has taken a similar approach with PS5. So it's possible there are an additional block of CUs that were turned off. Not 20 CUs worth (that is possible, however), but likely at least 8, likely 12.

Which would fit in line with the detailed schematic mockup a ResetEra poster made and was linked to earlier in the thread. Realistically, that would give closer to 10.5, not 12, but it could probably be pushed up to around 11. But again, if 20 potentially active CUs were disabled on Oberon for those regression tests, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Heisenberg said maybe around 12 or maybe around 9.
Benji wasn't sure about his source at the time but now thinks it's possible that it was right.

1. Github says 12 for Xbox, most insiders and legit publications pretty much agree on that number.

2. Both have also been not right multiple times, just as plenty of other insiders have been right.

3. Yes, but even they don't totally agree on Github. Klee said it doesn't change his opinion based on the info he has. Mat said "move past it"

4. He said it's a bit more powerful, but I don't remember him giving an above 12 figure for either system.

5. I never said any one insider said the leak is %100 correct seems, most agree with part of it.

My only point is that info is all over the place right now. At this point you have to pick and chose who/what to believe to come to any type of conclusion.
