Not sure what this is in regards to. Both consoles are DUV and I say that because xsx is very likely duv meaning ps5 is no different.
7nm libraries and masks are incompatible with 7nm+(euv). The current upgrade for 7nm is 7nP(I'm betting both consoles are on this node). 6nm is basically the duv version of 7nm+. Btw, 6nm has a direct upgrade path to 5nm.

Out of curiosity, how come that redgamingtech guy is phony? I've only seen a couple of his videos, but he seems to cover a whole range of CPUs, APUs and GPUs. Covers both consoles too. So I could understand if he was a Pro Playstation or pro Xbox youtuber. But he covers everything? Or do you mean everything he posts is incorrect?

everyone who says anything that one party doesn't like is automatically dismissed by said party...

redgaming tech is a website/channel that's all about PC hardware, with the occasional console infos when new generations come around.

is everything they post super 100% accurate? no... but they're usually pretty good and if infos are shaky they'll tell you

They don't post anything new. They post anything they can get their hands on for clicks.

Keep tabs on this thread, then watch his videos.
There's nothing wrong with collecting info from various sources and doing "weekly news" sorts of videos. But taking that info and putting a spin on it just to claim it being exclusive or insider info, there's nothing good about that. It's clickbait pandering to the type of audience that eats it up and doesn't question its validity.
 
I think it's fairly telling that no one has ever leaked any detailed specs of a PS5 that is actually faster than the XbseX.

The existing rumors are common knowledge across the whole sector. If Sony has a device that was massively different to what was spoken about then thed leak some details.
 
I didn't even entertain the idea of that(probably fake) slogan as a possibility of complete BC.

Wasn't there a rumor some time ago that they could add things like RT to games of yesteryear with their BC system, like Gran Turismo?

Could give the rumor some credence, but I'm holding fast to the idea that complete BC is a fanboy dream, as much as I would love it to be a real thing.

One thing about your statement that we have too look at you about is the fact the writer was at the time making "predictions" and in this article he seems to stating facts from reliable sources.

with the way things have been going, it does make a lot of sense but time will tell!

just know when to discredit someone first by analyzing what's was said and going on at the time. His article doesn't read like the ones you mentioned

...given things shape out that way. I'm hoping at least more an 11TF PS5 but I really need another benchmark to be found pointing to such a stepping to really buy into it happening. That said I'd be content if that doesn't happen.

But yeah, regardless of any spec differences both'll come in at same price and no higher than $500 because early adopters will buy either or both at that price simply to have them, and they don't care about price as much if the value is there. And both will have plenty of value to justify them besides just power.

I always end up buying both consoles. But question if i should just use the xbox platform on PC this gen granted not everyone can afford or wants to make a pc this option is good.

PS5 seemingly will be above 399 but if it really is 9tf id find it hard to justify over xbox if it is the same price but tf's higher. It will come down to launch games i think

I don't believe for one moment Sony would sell a 9tf console (if it was 9tf) at the same price of a 12tf console. They're not stupid.

I've always said I judge the console by how much of a jump from the last one it is and how good a value it is for the power. Sony hasn't let me down on that yet and u love the first party so can't wait even if it's 8tf

Again, not saying that 9tf is a reality, BUT these are the exact same things people were saying about MS at the start of this gen (keep in mind that 9 - 12 is a smaller gap in performance than 1.2 - 1.8).

This seems like a very unlikely scenario, but in the unlikely situation that it did happen, it probably wouldn't be so much stupidity but just a case of misjudging the targets. They could have been targeting a lower price and still are, or cost rose more than expected due to trying to increase output of the silicone past the sweet spot, delayed launch left them too far in to change silicone but unhappy with where they were at, etc. Crazy things can happen.

Obviously, Sony could also be sitting on a 14TF beast. Or everyone is at 9 and the whole thing is moot. No problem with everyone having their own opinion at this point.

Xbox One had Kinect. That's the only reason it sold for a $100 more. Both now don't have such accessories forced on us with the console purchase. So having a 3tf difference will definitely affect pricing, since everything else seems to be similar.

Also look at Pro and X. For a 1.8tf difference the Pro was 399 and X 499. Justified. Same thing would happen here.

Not just that, but because MS was referring to the XSX as using Next Generation RDNA, there was also a slide AMD put up that used the term Next Generation when talking about RDNA 2. Only thing they miss is that when they used Navi and Vega on the slide it did so with "", but didn't with Next Generation, implying that it wasn't an actual name for RDNA 2.
