I sorta see that logic, but also don't. I think its mainly nostalgia that makes people but a console for a specific game. It's harder to get people to buy a console just for a new IP.

would I buy a ps5 for a new killzone or resistance? 100%. I buy every Nintendo because I love Mario and Zelda games. I'd buy the new Xbox alone just to play the new hellblade, gears and halo.

Would I buy a PS4 just to play GoW and horizon, probably not. But would I buy a ps5 to play the next gen versions of these games? Deffo. I enjoyed both on the PS4 and can't wait for the next installments.

And how so much cheaper next gen consoles will surpass it. I get why PC gamers are so butthurt, it must be so painful to see thousands down the shitter. In my case, I made back $4700 few months later making a total of 45min of short clips combined. Comparing PC to consoles is just nuts, tried to let some people understand "how nuts" it is. Funny thing is Master Race this time around will hold back consoles. :messenger_tears_of_joy: Sorry if I sounded like bragging🙌 but I had to step up for my fellow peasants:messenger_bicep::messenger_winking_tongue:

Indeed third party will sell more, that's why Sony and others try to attract you with exclusives to bring you to their ecosystem so they can have 30% of each purchase. That's not the case with Xbox being on PC as most PC gamers are still on Steam and would jump in for one game or two in the Xbox store. Might workout more in the future? Maybe, but Epic Games is no joke. Xbox just threw itself in a much crowded atmosphere between cloud and PC gaming instead of doubling down on consoles with only Sony being the solo major competitor. Switch is irrelevant as it can't run most multiplats nor match PS/Xbox power. Most PC gamers can afford consoles, so with Xbox being already available on PC they would get PS5 as a sensible choice.

I remember getting an Xbox 360 strictly for Halo 3. Before then I had an original Xbox and loved playing Halo 1 & 2 on it, as well as third-party games that just ran better than the PS2. When Halo 5 came out the franchise was already catering to a different audience than those who played the original trilogy, and so I didn't get an Xbox One but instead opted for the PlayStation 4 since it was more powerful and could play third-party games better.

If the Xbox Series X can play GTA VI better, then expect many to return to the platform. I can't imagine God of Babysitter will attract newcomers to the PlayStation 5, neither will the homosexual love story of Last of Us 2.

So Rainbow Six Siege is a fucking launch title for both PS5 & XSX.
And will be the same version on next-gen consoles that PC players will already be playing......

What you've said about Sony games is unfair and disingenuous... most of the games take 20 to 40 hours, some much longer (Horizon and Death Stranding).

Games like Uncharted, TLOU, GT Sport, MLB and others have multiplayer modes and large devoted communities that play for thousands of hours.

Even Bloodborne, Nioh and Death Stranding have people that keep playing to use their unique multiplayer and help people through the experience.

We just had Dreams release which is a game / creation tool with few limits that already has a huge amount of incredible experiences and before that was LittleBigPlanet.

If a game comes out and it is a remake or a shorter experience like Ratchet and Clank or SHadow of the Colossus... at least PlayStation didn't price-gouge me like they did with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. It's something I can appreciate.

A game also shouldn't be judged purely on it's length of gameplay because polish, story and how much of an impression a game makes counts for a lot and sometimes a lot more.


Like sometimes people play games to forget time and others play for something to remember.... playing to remember is what I define as a PlayStation game quality!

J/k i know that Shadow Fall was a step back in the series, but i played the shit out of that multi! For me the biggest goofed Sony did this generation was only making one Killzone, unlike ps3, and no new Resistance like game... but the rest of your post man: took the words out of my mouth (and you didn't even mention the Housemarks co-op gems we had!).

Just checked out misterxmedia's twitter profile, to see what the fuss was about. Yikes, I feel like that dude is gonna jump from a bridge if XSX isn't the performance king. Some of the math on that feed would have the XSX at 50TF by Nov. I would think someone this invested would be more inclined to focus on nostalgia, or community friends, or services they are familiar with and prefer. Personally, I'm not bothered by the idea of a PS5 that is 10 - 20% faster than XSX. So long as the performance on offer is easy for developers to utilize. If you want to browbeat TimDog, check this guy out. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

There's a population who grew up on the original trilogy that don't like the changes to 4, but most reviews loved it.

I think 4 is way, way better than anything that came before. I found the old hack and slash style tiring and I almost have to forget old psychopath Kratos to get the most out of it, to me this style is the best entry in the series, love the God of Souls blend.

It did under 1M in its first NPD month. So? All their sales don't come from Physical US and it was like 4 days coverage. it did 950k physical in the US in 4 days, and you think it took them 3 months to get another 50k worldwide + including digital? lol

As someone who grew up on the original trilogy, the PSP games and ascension. I can say God of War "4" is by far Sony Santa Monica's magnum opus. Cant wait for the next game.

Looking at what they got out of something that was closest to a Radeon 7850, as interested as I am in this tech talk, whatever the PS5 ends up being Santa Monica's next entry is going to look and feel unbelievable on it. Can't wait to see what they do with the all flash architecture, the going back to the world tree and spinning it and other things to mask load times was probably the main con I had with it.

Never understood the tacking stance. Ascension mp looked and played great! Graphics even on mp were sublime, I loved it. Same shit was said about Uncharted 2 mp's which was one of the highest rated mp tht Gen.

I was going to get a new TV but Everytime I was about to do it I'd hear about some new feature that was going to be in next years model that and all new TV's have that soap opera look that ruin movie's
 
Cant wait for PSVR 2 info. Like thts my most requested info along with the power of the consoles. I'm sure Sony is also working on VR specific controls. I see I'm going to be spending alot of money on gaming again 🤦‍♂️
