No Sony/MS distinction there.

No Sony/MS distinction there.

Keep looking. Someone asked me about the XSX and I told them I didn't know.

You can go back and search for my comments. I *never* gave any rumors for the Xbox and stated as such.

This is nothing new. I said that over and over too. "Next-gen consoles weakest link will be the GPU".. "My sources tell me performance between 1080 and 1080Ti performance", etc.. etc..

People can wish for 2080Ti all day long. It's completely unrealistic and isn't happening.

My source confirmed for me at the beginning of the year between 1080 - 1080Ti performance. Seems to be right in-line.

What were you saying again? I thought so.

Mind quoting yourself where you said XSX was 12tf or much better than gtx1080? :messenger_grinning_squinting:

I didn't. I agreed with the quotes from T Tim
Oh shit, I think was the

So how can you be redeemed if you don't have any contacts for MS???

PS5. And I believed what DF stated in their article.

My source at Sony only told me that the Xbox *is* more powerful than the PS5. When I was told that, the 12TF vs. 9TF was assumed by deduction.

That means nothing if you don't know what the game is doing graphically. Just because one game can do 4k/90 doesn't mean ALL games are going to run 4k/90. Again, look at the 2080Ti performance (which is significantly more powerful than the consoles GPU power) as a measuring tool and what games it struggles to maintain 4k/60FPS and deduce from there.

Shadow of the TR
Modern Warfare
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts
Jedi Fallen
Metro
Control
Detroit

etc,..

All of those games can NOT maintain 4k/60FPS at Max settings on a 2080Ti. They damn sure won't run 4k/60 on the next-gen consoles.
Stfu alreadyyyy man wtf is wrong with you. Everytime the same stupid discussion with you. I don't get triggered easily but holy fuck are you annoying

I have to admit I am surprised it did actually hit 12 as I thought it would be slightly under that.

And RDNA 2?

Day freakin 0 for me on that beast.

Now we wait for Sony and more importantly pricing.

Pretty crazy indeed. I think that price has to be closer to $600, which gives the excuse for the Lockheart to appear. Either way, day freakin 0 as you said. Less than 9 months to go...

Console games don't run at max settings and are way more optimised than what you get on PC, someone with experience like you should know this.

But in those two quotes you did know - or implied you knew. Everyone and 2080Ti twice as powerful as both. Is a 2080Ti twice as powerful as 12TF RDNA2? Maybe you didn't know but you still made those statements.

No. I'll die on this hill, 11.6 (they will say 12, does this sound familiar?) and 12..4 this was what I was told months ago. From what I have seen, not heard. their is no gap in power and if it is it's negligible. Be happy both consoles are powerful. BOTH are comparable to a 2080 super. BOTH.

I know they don't run at max settings. And they are NOT way more optimised. That's your illogical assumption. There wasn't a single game that ran better than expected last gen on the PS4/X1X. Here we go again with the "secret sauce" myth...

I'm sure Microsoft will have the proper XDK to take advantage of asset streaming among other tools to ensure that the games properly take advantage of the XSX vs XOX/S. They're tools are typically top notch.
You cannot compensate for orders of magnitude more bandwidth with software tools.
HDD => 80-160MB/s
SATA 3 SSD => 300MB/s
NVMe SSD => 2000MB/s

With PCIe 4.0 and whatever hot sauce Sony are using, both the XSX and PS5 might have even more bandwidth than a typical NVMe SSD.

Software cannot compensate for this. No matter how good it is.

The performance of each individual core is probably different between AMD and Nvidia.
Yeah, I know. Perhaps I could have been clearer, but my point is, we cannot be certain how the consoles will perform with ray tracing compared to Turing, cause we don't know exactly how AMD's solution works.
The figures I gave are illustrative, based on what I know from AMD's patents.

I have been avoiding this for a long time as a PC gamer first and foremost myself. I don't bring that shit up in here because let's be honest not everyone is running a 2080ti. Most PC games aren't running your or my setup. (SLI 2080ti custom everything if we're measuring dicks) most people I know aren't even running a 1080ti. Even my setupdoesn't give the performance you'd expect. Especially on games with shit optimization I only get a 30/40% gain on shadows of the tomb raider. The point is be fucking happy, the bar was raised a lot. The new consoles out of the box can run star citizen and they won't run you almost 6k.

smell a conspiracy here : Microsoft might have planted leaks to say Sony had a 12tf machine which it does not have. Why would Sony risk bringing out a machine at 500$, when it is already selling a ton of games and has a long list of exclusives at a lower price point ?

TimDog redeemed (and lurking)

VxH4zDf.gif
How is he redeemed? He was reporting stuff other leaks had already mentioned or theorizing on what had been said by MS and AMD. He didnt have any sources and failed to provide any to the mods. I'm half dead at work so i cant tell if this is sarcasm 😂

if you reduce settings they can run at 4k60 easily.
no sane person runs PC games at max settings if they don't hit the desired target framerate. even in modern games reducing some settings that don't really drastically impact the image quality is the way to go.
in many games simply reducing shadow detail from ultra to high can result in a 10+ fps gain over the ultra settings.

AA is the next thing that you can turn down as resolutions rise. at 4k your AA solution doesn't need to be as good as at a 1080p image. so running the highest AA settings is also absolutely useless and a waste of GPU power at 4k

RDNA 1.0.

that would make for more drama.

What do we know RDNA2 means aside from RT? If MS went AMD RT tech and Sony went a different route then that could be true. Theoretically MS including AMD RT would also be "leveraging ... RDNA2 architecture" even if they included nothing else from RDNA2.

Now we shift who has the fastest SSD!
After this.

who has most ram.

these are game changing features . Who cares about flops.

It's been proven that games on consoles run much better than they do on similarly specd hardware on PC, DF done more than one video discussing and proving this. And you constantly bring up argument that 2080TI can't run all games 4K60 at max settings when we know console setting are optimised.

Yea, I'm happy either way tbh.

You are right though. It's very difficult to talk with technical details because for whatever reason people need to justify their purchases. I guess we can just look forward to the DF comparison videos as those will be the true measuring stick with the multiplatform games.

It's said to be around 20% more efficient than RDNA1.

Yeah good point. A 2080ti could probably run at higher fps once you start knocking down the settings. Just because it's 4k90, doesn't mean it'll be at the same graphic settings as a 2080ti.

Still, good time for gamers!

The 12TF Anaconda, 4TF Lockhart leak occurred January 2019. DF posted their Gonzalo vid April 2019, and at that point it was still 1.8GHz. Oberon showed up August 2019 with 2GHz core clock.

Original Gonzalo leak from what I can find was from TUM_APISAK January 17th, 2019...2 days after the Reddit leak for Anaconda, Lockhart, and PS5. This was at 1GHz core, then the 1.8GHz core ES comes in April 2019, and as mentioned Oberon at 2GHz core in August 2019.

What did the Github leak mention about Sony total RAM?

But but MAXXXX SETTIIIINGSSSSS!!!!

If Ubisoft follows the trend (and allows you to play your owned x1 games on XsX without the need to re-purchase and with higher graphics) i would get XsX day one probably.

Nope, your info was wrong, you said XSX will be 10 TF, and PS5 is 9 TF.

XSX is 12 TF RDNA 2, more powerful than RTX 2080 Super, almost as powerful as RTX 2080 Ti.

PS5 will be 12TF RDNA 2 or even more.

You were wrong, admit it. 😂😂😂

That was never proven as of this current gen. I mention the 2080Ti because it's the most powerful graphics hardware to date regardless of what platform it's running on. And it can NOT run a locked 4k/60FPS.

Unified graphics engines like Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, CryEngine, etc.. were made to scale across multiple platforms. So it's not like a PS4/X1X can render a multiplatform better than expected against the equivalent PC hardware.

What I'm getting at is that people assume that a 12TF equipped console will somehow miraculously pull off consistent 4k/60FPS on any game due to the fact that consoles (even though they are 100% PC hardware components) have some secret sauce. It's just untrue and the people that get offended when I mention this are the ones that find me "annoying". They don't want to hear the truth but want to go on believing what they want to believe.
