1) Matt Booty said there will not be next gen exclusives for the "NEXT 2 YEARS", he said that at E3 last year. at no time did he say 2 years starting from the launch of the Series X.
2) exactly, but there are reports about most games being also on PS4 for the first few months. that doesn't mean all of them will be. but most of them.
3) what does Lockhart suddenly have to do with anything?

Unbelievable, so Basically somebody in Microsoft woke up this morning and from absolutely nowhere decided to drop and confirm specs we've been talking for ages. Amazing....really....how the world has changed nowadays, before you ought to wait for special events, knowing somethig just amazing could happen, or megaton being dropped. Today, as well as farting, some random company guy wake up and share a twitt.

Forget PS5 reveal guys, Playstation meeting, destination Playstation, State of Play or whatsoever, as well as that wired article, somebody in Sony will wake up one day and drop the megaton from abolutely nowhere

1) Phil Spencer confirmed the same thing recently. Interestingly, this only you have anybody goes countdown in 2 year, with past E3, to comfort so its fan the brain or I something still not observed

I guess sony wanted the 9 tf rumour to live.

There ain't no way on earth xbox is 12 and sony is 9 when they are comparable in performance and can both run the same game locked at 90fps at the same fidelity.

That is just something you will have to deal with if it's true, just don't come in here saying I told you so will trying to convince us you didn't really have a source with sony info.

That is called efficiency. 1TF of RDNA is better than 1TF of GCN. Everyone knows that. They said its 12TF RDNA. Not RDNA with a 12TF GCN equivalent.

Can someone please tell me what has to be posted by Xbox to stop this nonsense? I mean do they really need to footnote and say that 12TF RDNA is 12TF RDNA and not GCN equivalent besides them already stating that in their official release?

Ok I'm just going to come out and say it.. I actually thought the mental gymnastics would take a little bit longer, but people in here are already straight up looking at the script for Saw and calling it a romance novel.

Good lord people. It's there in black and white (and green). All it means is your powerful PS5 will have a competitor that is powerful. It's ok. You will still get all the stuff you love, the world will still keep turning.

This is the best possible outcome for ALL of us and some of you are in here like you've just been told the world is ending next week but it's already run out of booze.

there is no way those Sony games will even come close to utilizing the full potential of the system.
look at launch games this gen, or last gen... look at those games.
almost all of them just looked like slightly upgraded games of the generation before them, because that's what they were.

many games that launch with a new generation were actually planned for the old generation and then mid development shifted to the new system. Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo were GameCube and Xbox games at first... when you look at early footage of Resistance you can absolutely tell it was developed for PS2 at first. same with Genji 2... these games looked like last gen games in HD with some fancy effects thrown in at the last minute.

and even games that were planned all along for new systems often look like slightly upgraded last gen games. look at Ridge Racer 6 and 7 on 360 and PS3 respectively... that game looks like an og Xbox game runnign in HD at best. (WHERE IS RIDGE RACER 8 BTW? GIMME SOME RIIIIIDGE RAAAACEEERRR!!!!)

Having time to reflect this morning, I don't think this was as "random" of an information bomb as people think.

I've a feeling that "Soony" is about to open up--Microsoft got wind of it(why wouldn't they? Ears everywhere) and decided to pre-emptively strike.

Not because they believe(as some do) that PS5 is more powerful or weaker, just to take the wind out of the sails a bit.

Think about it--many insiders pegged February, specifically towards the end of the month for Sony. Why now? Why a "random" Monday?

I'd be looking. Doesn't Sony typically speak more often in terms of announcements on a Tuesday? Who knows these days. Maybe Soony is stirring.

He was a visionary. I never had a dedicated DVD or Blu-Ray player thanks to him :D. The PS3 was just a miscalculation. On paper it was the strongest console, but multiplat devs didn't care haha. All in all he provided us with sick consoles

I think that a 12 TFLOPS RDNA GPU is way way way too much for a console on the price, heat and power consumption sides. Unless it's a 600/700$ beast machine 😳

Per Github, Arden was pegged at 56CU and the only thing unknown was the clocks. Many assumed 1.7GHZ and this would be right there in terms of efficiency for Navi and RDNA 2.0 which isn't capped at 40CU.
 
Well, I was not expecting Xbox to officially reveal their specs today. And I was not expecting RDNA 2 at all. God damn, if they could get the price on XSX to $500, I might have to cop one at launch.

it doesn't. it throws around a bunch of fancy particle effects and that's it. take those out and it looks like an upgraded PS3 game.
Raytracing alone will do that with next gen games. RT lighting and reflections will make a huge impact.

and when we are talking about games being held back we are usually talking about the CPUs of the old systems being too weak to handle new gameplay experiences and bigger more complex worlds... Second Son did nothing that wasn't possible on PS3, it just looked nicer than what was possible on PS3. and making games look nicer is not an issue even if you have super low end versions too.
look at the difference between Witcher 3 on Switch and Witcher 3 on max PC settings. the difference there is staggering, and the Switch version doesn't even run at the lowest possible settings (well now with the new update you can lower them to almost the lowest I guess)

Consoles never never never never never had the best GPUs, because they cost too much, draw too much power and make lots of heat. But... If it's really an expensive machine..... Who knows 😏

Do you think dataminers will uncover another Oberon stepping with 48CUs on it within the next couple of months? Feels like most realistic way to get something like 10.8TF - 11TF Navi within the sweetspot range. But such a stepping would be very recent (like, this year recent), which is why I'm willing to give it a few more months to surface if and when it does.

Also do you think PS5'll be RDNA1 with RDNA2 features mixed in or full-on RDNA2?

360 had a top end GPU. Admitted it melted most of them.
