I'm not referring to the Github stuff actually, but the GPU benchmarks and information that's been datamined. Some of those just happen to line up with the bigger Github leak that came beforehand. Also GPU data has been found with high accuracy to actual upcoming products, so that's something to take into consideration.
IIRC it was insiders claiming XSX dev kits were further behind, but that detail started changing once the XSX APU shot was put out in early January (right before CES even). And while MS's usually made announcements related to XSX right before Sony does something, it's usually been to an opposite of whatever comes from Sony. The APU die shot to the CES logo, the "non-rendered" XSX unit (maybe devkit?) shot ahead of what Sony announced either that same day or a day afterwards (think it was the "skipping E3" news, not sure), etc.
Then the Twitter post a week and a day to this AMD meeting coming up. FWIW that 4Chan spec leak (which seems to have kicked up the recent conversations the past few days and now Osiris adding to that pot) hinged itself on a March 3 reveal date. That's literally tomorrow. So if nothing's revealed then what?
Also Sony had an email set up for people to receive news on announcements...if a PS5 reveal is coming tomorrow shouldn't people be getting email alerts by now? If the reveal's happening "today" (since it's either March 3 there already or close to it) then people should be getting email notifications within a few hours no? It is a supposed PS5 reveal, what better time to send out alerts for the people who registered for them?

Let be real here for a minute. AMD have more leaks than a sieve. Ms and Sony likely did the bulk of their testing in house on the actual os due to be used in the consoles. Not on windows 10 by an intern.

Anyway if tommy controller pictures happen to be legit then there's no reason to not believe the guy.
I doubt we'll get news on that today since it seems he's not active here every single day. We'll see.

I still think that it's most likely that both boxes are very close and this (as well as Coronavirus) is the biggest reason we haven't seen pricing announcements even though other technical specs are known (for MS at least).

Back at E3 Microsoft/AMD press release only listed XSX as being based on next-gen Radeon RDNA but in the latest blog post they now change that to 'leveraging RDNA 2 architecture'. Sony also officially say RDNA-based. I suspect they are trying to feel and tease out info from each other before confirming things.

I'm with you, that is a HILARIOUS clip. I too want the specs as soon as possible. Look, I'll be getting a PS5 regardless on day one, whether it's 9 or 13TF or whatever. I like the exclusives and ecosystem and especially with BC in place...I have money invested. Ok, so fine. I don't DISLIKE Xbox and never have...just have been on the other side pretty much since I started seriously gaming with the PS2. Ok, fine. BUT....I DO hope that both boxes are very close to each other. Close enough that there aren't bigger differences. Like this last gen with the resolution "issues" that people reported on with XB1 rendering games internally at a lesser resolution. I mean, people usually had to REALLY blow things up to be able to see that difference. But it was HUGE for the online community anyway. I'd rather we had a generation WITHOUT those kinds of differences.
Bottom line, make it about the SYSTEM and the ecosystem of each company. Gamepass benefits versus PS+ or whatever. Make it about services and the exclusives that each generates. THAT more than anything would make it more likely for someone like me to pick up an Xbox as well. If they have things I can ONLY play on Xbox and I want to play them....then I WILL. That's all. I hope it's not another several years of petty picking at nits.
So....I'm hyped to get info on the PS5 and also more info on the XBsX! Let's get this party started already! And yes, I know Coronavirus is likely impacting the timing..and I'm MORE than fine with prioritizing that. That's people's jobs and lives versus a stupid plastic and silicon box that plays games, for Pete's sake. But I'm still hyped to find out more and get my pre-orders in!

Ah cool, fair enough. It is easy to draw the correlation to Github but yeah, that's not something high on the pertinence scale for me personally. I think people looking to it exclusively are doing it wrong, but I could say the same with anyone looking to only one source exclusively as well, be it insiders, Github, 4chan/Reddit etc.
I think (or at least hope) both systems are pretty close in terms of TF as well, but even if there's a notable gap there it doesn't mean there will be in other areas like SSD, CPU, memory bandwidth etc. Or we could see the systems going virtually back-and-forth in those areas in terms of which one has the edge (small or notable), but could still be said to be relatively equal. They're both using Zen 2 and RDNA2. They're both using next-gen ready SSDs as a virtual cache (similar to AMD's SSG cards), and both are using high-speed high bandwidth GDDR6 etc.
That's a good thing for next-gen as a whole no matter which way you look at it.
Yep that makes the most sense for both. 7nm with as many needed RDNA2 features pulled from the roadmap onto custom APU silicon.
