That would be game set and match. But it can't be so easy. There must be some aspect in which series X is superior if according to JSchreier it's going to take a long time to know which one is better, if ever.

I don't really know anything about the technical side and in particular, just how much of the data held in the ram is actually going towards what is displayed on screen in every frame, how much in size the data that goes into each frame will generally changes every second, and therefore how much you would need to move in and out of ram to effectively stream all assets as needed, rather than having additional assets loading in advance.

Maybe in regular gameplay, being any faster may not really yield any additional benefits if the XsX speed is already fast enough to avoid any potential streaming bottlenecks, but could further reduce loading/fast resume times. I could certainly see some scenarios where the extra speed could help in certain gameplay scenarios (which we don't really see currently) such as if they want to move through the work at ridiculous speeds (like the Spiderman demo), or if they wanted to move back and forward between completely different fully rendered areas very quickly.

It's also possible that the higher speeds that have been bandied about for the PS5 are not equivelant to the staed Raw speed of 2.4 GB/S, but rather more like the stated 4.8 GB/S for compressed data or the decompressions speed of 6 GB/S. Hopefully in 24 hours we'll all have a much better idea.

I know, I explained to them, that this is not right way to put it, it's fine, if you are not knowledgable enough for that, but making something like that in the tweet, kind of assumption for future reveal and most importantly for console wars, is just too much for my old brain.

It's not a coincidence it's GDC week and a lot of stuff has been move online .

I'm not acting like a child. It's just the reality. They have balls right now to do a full spec reveal two days after. This doesn't discount the Xbox, it's quite good.

Its a video presentation, so i expect PowerPoints and slides and cerny just being cerny and talking about each hardware component and what it will mean for games, i think it will be technical presentation and not a venue to try and sell ps5 to the masses.

I think it's both since it's a video for the masses. Even if it's tech demos (aka Knack + ray tracing), i expect to see something games wise...
 
For my PS5 prediction:

CPU: Zen2, 8 cores, 16 threads at 3.2ghz
GPU: 40 active CU's, 2.15ghz (11TF), 576GB/s memory speed (full chip has 44CU's)
Storage: 1TB NVMe, 2.5GB/s speed
Vram: 16GB Gddr6 + 4GB ddr4

I don't think MS can take the wind out of Sony sails even if Sony weaker unless they weaker by a huge amount.
If it's 11.6 to 12.1 that won't matter to most people .

I want anyone reading this to think big picture. If you were going to release an inferior product as compared to your main competitor would you reveal it two days after they reveal a more powerful product? Think about this not as a fan but in a business sense. Think about the industry I work in currently. When Avengers End Game came out other movies shifted their release dates as to not get punched in the mouth by that box office Juggernaut. If anything this move seems very brazen. I don't need to know the inner workings of a situation to apply common sense.

Edited to add: Not a coincidence looks like confidence. You don't put your face in the path of a punch if you have a glass jaw.

I think it's safe to say that PS5 SSD is a lot faster than XsX since Sony is so excited about it. Everything else could be slightly faster or weaker.

But they need to show some games. MS showed nothing new and they using Minecraft as RT tech demos. Sony should reveal something as we know there are a lot of PS5 exclusives being made. At least Blupoint's project, just a little teaser, would be huge.

I am just as excited as everyone else to not only see this thing but hope we see some kind of tech demos possibly gameplay but not holding out hope for that.

But it does say something that Sony didn't quietly delay their planned reveal date of tomorrow due to XSX spec reveal, no?

I dont think ps5 will be inferior i think it will be about 10% more powerful, but i do think the recent xsx spec deep dive definitely influenced sonys decision to release there spec deep dive tomorrow.
They probably dont want the xsx specs getting all the limelight.

Yea i have heard no new games just old games using the new features. New games is for next showing around e3
