To be precise. He is only credited on one iOS NFS game and basically everything he shown from his own engine is simple 2D stuff. I wouldn't call myself "game engine developer" with that amount of experience.

Lack of LED at the back of Dualsense is pretty lame from a compatibility standpoint. You'll still need Dualshock 4 to play most of PS VR 1 games and I'm sure Sony will discontinue them quickly after PS5 release, like they did with Dualshock 3 after PS4 came out.

To this day, there still isn't any good replacement for Dualshock 3. They all miss some features like Sixaxis or pressure sensitive buttons and lack quality of originals. Not many games use those special features, but for some (like MGS) they're essential. Genuine DS3s became expensive and scarse now because Sony didn't give a fuck about making Dualshock 4 fully compatible with PS3, which I'm sure would be easy.

Which pad are you talking about?

The joystick is black (and the area around it), the reflection in the D-Pad could be it reflecting the joystick or even its own shadow. The light is coming straight ahead from us (as a viewer - look at the create button's shadow)

I'm not sure why the colour of the DualSense is even in question? In 4K/full-screen it is clearly the White/Black one already shown. I'm not sure why Sony made it so mysterious for this tease!

I expect the console to mirror the controller colour scheme. Partly Black but mostly White. They'll probably be other options at some point if not at launch.

Did you watch the video? Software changes everything, think of Apple and why its "lower specced" CPU destroys higher specced android devices (I think the A11 bionic chip has a clock speed of 2.3GHz and the Snapdragon 865 has a 2.84Ghz clock speed and is still faster than most devices) - or his example of a 20MP camera when some 9-12 MP cameras destroy them in photo quality.

Software and build matters. I don't think we've had this type of comparable customization on consoles ever, so an example (other than PC where it doesnt make much sense) would be difficult to come up with.

All we can do is wait and see, right?

The short answer is: it depends on the individual metrics with which the TF count is reached and the tested scenario.

Honestly I can't get my head around the idea that wanting a platform to push games and gaming forward as much as they can with new hardware and what that can do to new game design ideas, storytelling and so on, is something bad for gamers. Like, how is that a bad thing?

BC is not a huge deal for me, but, just in case, I have all my consoles, all generations, ready to go if I feel like playing some OG Xbox, or some PS2 or whatever, but with new hardware, I think wanting new horizons to open up is perfectly normal and good, not only for the gamer, but the industry itself.

All this MS talk about including old platforms is just PR spin, the real deal is one single thing: Gamepass. They need to spread it across every platform they can, old consoles, new console, PC and mobile in the future(Xcloud). Gosh, I think the only reason we haven't seen it being announced for Switch and PlayStation is because Nintendo and Sony have zero interest in that happening. They don't even need you to buy an Xbox, all they want is your ongoing subscription.

XBOX has done PLENTY to push our beloved medium forward. What was the first console that brought a broadband online gaming service to consoles? Which console included a hard drive with every console so that games could be stored locally improving gameplay experiences? Which console introduced a unified memory structure allowing developers to control how much memory was used for what purpose on their games?

You might not like game pass but there is no other service like it and it allow games that might never have gotten a shot to be played.

Its such a good service only 6% of their sales were xbox games.....as much as people like it people are buying fewer games even though phil said it would make people buy more

Secondly XsX not held back by Xbox one 'like pc's aren't', seriously does he work in gaming or cleans ign offices for a living? All games that work on Jaguar and 1.3tf are design constrained, which includes a majority of games released on PC.

A better or more interesting architecture does not necessarily translate into more power or better overall performance.
Both things are of value for the industry.
And you can have one thing with or without the other.

There are many different benchmarks applicable to games, some favoring fillrate and/or rasterization, others favoring GPGPU, etc.
When you have either higher CU count or higher frequency, yes, you can get surprising results depending on the scenario.

One of the big reasons I think that makes devs happy is for example that the whole I/O complex hardware takes away a lot of work that devs currently do and wraps it all up in a nice little easy to use ID-based API.

I can't say I fully understand how it all works, but I would love to see it demonstrated.

All that custom hardware is designed to do all that work. Which is why I believe you. I really want to see more of that SSD in action. It seems like it's the most interesting tech in the PS5 in my opinion.

I honestly think it depends on the game. Some games can scale well across a lot of hardware especially if we are just pushing pixels. If it has some cpu intensive mechanics then it maybe a poor candidate to run as cross gen.

battery has nothing to do with the led. The led in the xbox one controller isnt smaller than the one in the PS4 controller. The touchpad is actually the reason why the PS4 battery is taxed. It constantly checking for touch input. Sony simply did a bad implementation, a proximity sensor would fix it.
