Nah, Xbox has 44% more CUs and 18% more tflops. At the very least, we will see 18% better performance in cross gen games with ray tracing like Watch Dogs UK and Cyberpunk which will clearly not be native 4k 30 fps. I suspect it will be 1440p on PS5, 1620p on Xbox Series X.
i see everyone is taking a victory lap here after the xsx conference, but the gpu in this bitch is still more powerful. And it will show from Day one. I suggest we show some humility and start preparing for this eventuality, or we will be eating crow like xbox fans after the xsx conference.

Nah, nobody will outperform anyone for the third party games of course. But then for 1st party exclusives games, well you already know the answer, PS WWS is unmatched against nobody, they are in a league of their own.
Quick resume on the XSX is a improvement on what was already done on PS4. Ps4 does it for just 1 game.

PS4 never did it in the first place, don't misinform people man! Switching between an app youtube say for example to a ps4 game application isn't quick resume at all. What Series X demonstrated in quick resume video, that's called quick resume.

So on my ps4 if I'm playing warthunder for example and launch something like spotify or share factory it suspends my game. I then relaunch my game and instead of waiting minutes to load the game up and gain access to the servers it puts me back in the hanger where I was before. It takes seconds to get back into the game. Playstation 4 it's called suspend/resume from what I recall.

I watch sports. I support my team (for whatever sport) to a pretty high degree. When my team beats a rival, the fans take that to the other team's fans like villagers with pitchforks and torches going after a monster. When the rival beats out team down, we get defensive. It's pretty normal in that context. In fact, most fans are pretty protective of their team to the point where when something bad is shown, either it wasn't that way, or it wasn't that bad. I see a lot of this in the passion of gaming fans.
If you can love multiple teams of a sport, you're likely to be a bit more able to be a bit less one-sided in your support of things as a fan of the game. Here, in gaming, that would be the people who buy multiple platforms and say they love gaming as a whole regardless of which system people are talking about. Again, I see perfect parallels to what I read here. Very normal stuff.
If it is acceptable for sports, why wouldn't it be acceptable here. I think it's the view of the situation. Fans are fans. Some are rabid, some toxic, some rational, some supportive. That's what it is to have a forum. The main differentiate here would be that there are rules for this forum. People need to respect them to be a part of the community. Nothing wrong with a good ribbing, but there are definitely lines which shouldn't be crossed is all.

I dont see 18 % at all. XSX has software abstraction API for everything (+ for BC, - for performance)
Ps5 has patents on GE VRS and has very custom solution.
We also dont know about Ps5 RT and intersection engine and whether its using some of the tempest engine SPU to help. Cerny did mention this.
The only RT we have seen on console is all Sony games shown, and on Minecraft. Thats it so far.
So I am expecting much of a muchness or 10 % on some cross gen stuff at most...

I said no i can't do that and a few seconds later Bo put me on ignore for the rest of the day. Sigh.
So hard to make friends on this Forum. My last one got banded for trigger warning violations, i mean wtf.

it seems ms doing good job crashing they xbox division and i'm all in for it! yes i'm that idiotic because i don't want game pass same halo's and forza's with no innovation or half ass finished games to be released.
ms seem incapable to drive gaming industry forward and only damages it with game pass model, ruining they 1st party devs, lack of new ip's and by being in stagnation mode
it's same as last gen potato controller
we don't need to worry about sony they always will have competitors like PC, nintendo, it would be better that some company would step in for ms and drive industry forward together with sony, nintendo.

you are right. checkboard is pretty close quality wise with DLSS. I hope Sony improve this going forward, improved checkerboarding for PS5 could be the answerPs4 and ps4 pro had more aces than the XB counterpart. With this gen seemingly looking to push Asynchronous compute more, epic have already started pushing into that area. I highly suspect the PS5 will have double the Pro so 16 instead of 8.

i must admit my eyes are not so good anymore, but checker boarding still looks amazing to me. with out being told what to look at or to zoom in at, i don't really recognise half the things he says, i just see a good image.
Its mainly stuff like pop in i always see,
Maybe it's different if i had a twenty year old eyes again.

Imagine how unfair it is to compare 4.2TF GCN and checkerboarding since 2016 to very new and 16.4TF Turing 2080Ti second revision DLSS 2.0. And even with that, checkerboarding remains extremely competitive and relevant.
And now, that really concerns MS because as I'm aware they don't have such thing, they might use the software-based AMD FidelityFX CAD though, same goes to Sony, and that already embarrasses 2080Ti with similar results with 5700 card.

No seek time in SSD means you can load your game save directly from the main menue without booting the game. The assets stream into the ram from the ssd. It acts as if everything in your computer is already loaded in your ram ( with some obvious degree of lag off course)

I actually think it can go either way. I would 18% would be average, but there will be games where the difference would be 10% and there will be games where the difference would be 28%. We will have to wait and see. I remember the CoD Ghsots debacle where a 40% difference in gpu power resulted in a 100% boost in resolution. Anything can happen. especially when it comes to current gen games as Halo infinite has shown us. these games do not scale well to next gen. Watch Dogs was running at 1080p 30 fps on a rtx 2080ti. these games will not be optimized to use the ins and outs of the PS5 hardware.
That said, it will technically be the only console for the first three years with next gen exclusives and they all seem to have ray tracing already built in. So when it comes to next gen games, yes, PS5 will most likely lead the way in RT. I mean it currently is already.
