Avowed

Flight Simulator
And then we have a ton of unannounced stuff:
Gears 6 (likely)
InXile's AAA game
The Initiative's AAA (AAAA!) game
Forza Horizon 5 (Likely)
Compulsion's next project (they are staffing up to 100+ people, so likely AAA or close)
And who knows what Doublefine will be doing?
Now some of that is GAAS and some of that is not. Games like Avowed, Fable, Hellblade II, the singleplayer portions of Halo and Gears, likely InXile's game, The Initiative's game, Compulsion's game and Doublefine's game (thought they could release a few AA games instead) won't be GAAS but instead singleplayer and story driven (the stuff Sony fans like).
Oh... and all that stuff will be on Game Pass. Xbox is gonna be amazing this gen, but it'll take some time to fight the current hardcore gaming narrative around here and other forums.

But RX5700xt is already as good as 2070 super and PS5 is 13% stronger than RX5700XT in raw power without considering change in architecture.
So he is logically right, PS5 is equivalent to RTX2080 Super. Also from Gears 5 demo, it seems that XSX could be little stronger than 2080 super as it was running with same performance and extra graphics features. So his guess is not bad at all.
I can't believe y'all are discussing an exclusive DLC character. Like seriously? Don't be like desetera getting all dramatic over this. They never liked the game anyway going by the threads about it. I'd be genuinely interested in a run down of what journalistic qualifications a lot of these games journalists actually have. Because a lot of the time it feels like most of them don't really know the best practice for reporting on developments in the gaming industry.

Sure but overtime pc gaming is getting better and better, my last consoles were ps3/360/wii. With ps4/one I preferred PC and hope Sonybis gonna convince me to buy a PS5 but for the moment I stick with PC

This is why I think they are extremely dependent on the success of Xcloud. MS must reach a huge amount of Gamepass subscriptions to have a reasonable profit, but for that to happen they need more than Xbox/PC, they must reach smartphones, smart TVs and many other devices like Netflix does.

That MS has sold their leadership on the future of Xbox by claiming xCloud will bring in millions and millions of customers.
They didn't get Satya on board by saying "We can probably sell another 50 million consoles next gen!".. they did it with that BS "ONE BILLLLION GAMERS with XCloud!" crap.
I think cloud gaming is either incredibly far off, or will die a miserable death within a decade personally.

Obviously lots of reasons Stadia flopped other than necessarily "there is no market", but MAS at least have to be worried about Stadia suggesting that cloud gaming is a flop.
You never want to BANK your future on some massive market disruption occurring either way, you prepare for it and see what happens. Hopefully that's what MS has done despite being bullish on xCloud when they talk about it.

Cloud everything is the future.Depending on the country, and regions within countries, the network infrastructures to support it vary greatly. The U.S. being the worst. 1st, high speed Internet is still not everywhere. Additionally, those with data caps really have a hard time supporting all digital consoles and downloading games purchased, let alone streaming services.... on top of streaming services and/as well as ones they already have.

Reality is finally dawning on many, no matter how much you want to champion one corporation as pro-consumer, at the end of the day, they are by very nature 'corporation'. Their only interest is getting your money, nothing is doing out of charity or morality.
Sony sell bazillions of hardware, and software, but their ultimate cash cow is PSN, mostly through PS+ subs. It's the exact same scenario for Xbox as well, they don't move as many hardware and software, but they do have a very large contingent hooked into their system through XBL Gold subscription especially in the light of fact that F2P MP games require it too. It just makes zero logical sense to lose all those billion of dollars for.... pro-consumer PR online?
Microsoft putting an end to selling 12-month XBL Gold membership, was seen by the hardcore as them pulling down the pay-wall altogether. I don't know if it's naivety or it's driven by plethora of MS affiliated influencers online playing into the gullibility of their fan base. Probably a mixture of both, but ultimately, what they have done is raise the price of XBL Gold membership, since you can't stack. In the end, it's all lining up to their goal of getting more people on GamePass. For those players who just play FortNite, Apex Legends, Warzone etc. either they can continue to buy 1 or 3 month XBL Gold membership at higher cost, or they can sub to Gamepass, which will in-turn have XBL Gold integrated for "free". I think, they'll hold out a little bit more before pulling down pay-wall on F2P MP games altogether. You ideally want your casual Fortnite, Warzone players to dip their feet into what GamePass is offering. But, all the noise around Halo F2P MP suggests it may be imminent.
However, it must be awkward for MS to know, that their most loyal consumers who buy their gateway hardware have to ultimately pay more to play online, while the PC user-base can avoid this scenario. It'll be interesting to know if MS remove the distinction between PC and Xbox GamePass in the future. Addition of XBL Gold for "free" to GamePass for Xbox users will probably help them navigate this awkward scenario. Nonetheless, I'm very curious to know how they handle this transition. It's in the making, there are many tricky scenarios, but that pay-wall to play online (except for F2P games) isn't going away.

Devices getting smaller, cheaper, more powerful is also the future.
Cloud gaming might have a future; hyperbole like "it is the future" is not something anyone can say for sure. There is no internet provided service ever imagined that is more demanding than cloud gaming is. How much that will effect it's ability to entice consumers, as well as actually make sense financially, has yet to be seen.
I definitely think it's way too early to really take off big.

I agree with you, I think. I will add, no matter how portable, powerful a device gets... if the ability to get reasonably priced service that can support the hardware Isn't there, the hardware becomes irrelevant.
As for less expensive hardware. I think that varies. I mean, sure, VR is getting cheaper as are other devices in tech as they mature... but.. then you have something like Air Pods. They're the successor to standard ear pods and pretty priceY, even against other wireless ear buds.

I don't get it, people said XBOX was the only team ready for next gen.......Especially when they were making all the studio acquisition announcements and hyping their portfolio.....They have a lot of games that won't be ready anytime soon, the games they have that runs in real-time are all cross-gen built for XBOX ONE and gamepass, yet people will assume the smaller studios can pump smaller/AA titles in a hurry, but people forget that it took a long time for these studios to release SOD, SOT, We Lucky Few etc...and even then, the quality of these games were not that great.......Even Flight Simulator is not coming to the console right now and from what I've seen of the PC version, there's alot of low rez textures and background details. It definitely does not look anything as good as the first trailer I saw of FS....

Yep, they had a lot of time to prepare but all we know so far is that their first next gen year is lacking on first party games. Unless they pull out a big surprise, they have to depend on timed exclusives, indies, enhanced BC and thirds.

But imagine a controller less bundle for say $249 that has a SSD just less power then the XsX for people who still play on a base Xbox One that only play on a 1080p screen.

MS bought most of these studios in 2018. You would think they would have something cooked already, as most of these studios are AA/Indie. Guerilla was able to put Killzone ShadowFall together in 8 Months...
