The state of play was okay just that.

Aeon Must Die: looks incredible good but looks the polemic will be involved on this game :lollipop_weary:
Godfall: looks fun to play but for the love of tsushima fix those leaf/bushes/trees looks horrible
Braid anniversary: every person who love indies in some way love this game also
The Pathless: I need this game :lollipop_smiling_hearts:
Hood: I want to see more gameplay before say something

Btw is weird don't see any of Call of duty in this month of the year
I'd say they are going to show a trailer or something soon and in the next PS5 event we will see some gameplay.

For me, none of the games in the show interest me.

I will rate as 1/10

Too much indies.
Too much "innovative" gameplay.
Too much "style"
Too much lack of substance

There is a clear gap that need to be filled between indies and AAAA. Yes, games like TLOU2 and Ghost are AAAA not AAA. AAA and AA been missing for a while.

About Aeon Must Die.

Wait, I am a few drinks down, but was Pathless shown in June event ?

The article is dated from June, but did they feature in June livestream ?
I don't remember seeing it, I'm going to skim through it and check.
Edit: nope, can't see it.

With all those record breaking profits hopefully Nintendo is finally investing in a decently powered 4k console.

Cause right now i'm really not looking forward to buying the next underpowered console.
What incentive do they have to improve hardware? Their underpowered console has just sold more than 61 millions in 3 years, and right now it's sold out everywhere. Nintendo is drowning in profit by just doing their own thing.

Stronk gameplay and stronk IP's is high Stonks. No need to chase fidelity.

Didn't know Microsoft were 3D printing the controller

3 up:
Crash 4 - looks very fun, no micros, will play
Hitman VR - very cool, wish I had PSVR
Pathless - I liked Abzu, seems chill. A try for right price

3 down:
Godfall - stiff animations, boring loop, skip
Control DLC - showed nothing to hook me
Bugsnax - still looks fucking dumb

can't wait to see the chaos

Especially the part where he says that big titles that are usually multiplatform will become timed exclusives.

Prepare for alot of people to scream "anti-consumer".

If you thought the complaints about an exclusive Spiderman character was bad imagine multiple Tomb Raider type deals.

It's probably FF16, but what else? Elder Scrolls 6?

Sony exec was bragging about tons of timed exclusive money-hats like a month or 2 ago.

I'll try to find the article.

"THIS IS SO GOOD FOR US COMPETITION" says neogaf lol

Best thing of the State of Play is the Hitman trilogy in VR, with the levels of all 3 games adapted.

I want more of this big games with full VR support on PS5.

They both look fine from a quality standpoint.. how in the world can anyone tell from those pictures? lol

PS4 had thumb sticks that wore out really quickly early on.. outside of the flimsy Switch Joypad's that's the only console controller quality issue I've ever really had. But you wouldn't know it looking at a picture lol

In the US, Sony could quickly find themselves with anti-trust issues if they money-hat too many games at once. When a market leader is actively paying devs to cripple a competitor that will bring issues along with it. Similar to Intel offering deals only to OEMs that did not purchase AMD chips.

Good aesthetic design can convey premium.

Its already doing that. :p

I think Sony paid to get a month of launch exclusivity for either the new Call of Duty or next gen GTA.

Either one of those is a pipe dream, I'm fairly certain.

*If*, *IF* in some incomprehensible decision involving ludicrous amounts of money, that actually happened, that's it.

Maybe not necessarily CoD, but even a *TIMED* exclusive for GTA6 would automatically end any console competition at all. Period. I worked the frontlines in retail for GTAV.

That crowd would immediately go for the platform it was on and nothing else, with little to no waiting for the exclusivity to end(even as short as a month).

Wouldn't matter *what* else Microsoft or Sony had(depending who snagged it). It'd be moot. All of it.

Unless of course a Microsoft does the same thing and then they won't dare to engage in lawsuits with each other.

I would find it very weird for Sony to do this and for a Microsoft to not do anything in response. Unless they really don't see Sony as a competitor of course.

I doubt. There's no precedence and exclusivity deals are for the most part safe under antitrust laws

I'd imagine its easy to argue this as pro-competitive

Oof. That'd be ridiculous. Easily the biggest money hat of all time. But do Sony really need to spend that much, considering their dominant position?
People keep saying Sony opened their wallets up for PS5. So maybe, GTA 3 launched first on PS2 and certainly helped sell units. Jimmy Sony wants to sell PS5s.

To be clear, I mean the PS5 version of GTA 5 would launch like a month earlier than the Series X version, not like GTA 6 (whenever the fuck that game comes out). Sony and Activision are very close now, wouldn't shock me if it was COD either. Sony has had MW2 remastered launch early on PS4, and then brought it to PS Plus. And they have exclusive shit for COD MW currently, plus the marketing.

He keeps saying it's several big 3rd party multiplatforms, so to me that's COD, GTA, or ?? Cause it's not any sports games. Maybe a Final Fantasy, but FF7 remake was already sorta a PS4 exclusive so idk.

Maybe Elden Ring, Batman, or some new game from Remedy. They did get Control's DLC to launch earlier on PS4 than Xbox. I doubt it's any Ubisoft game or any EA game (battlefield, Star Wars, sports).

Sorry I wasn't clear. I mean the next gen version of GTA 5. Like they said it's coming second half of 2021, I could see it launching on PS5 in like October and then everywhere else a month later. Not GTA 6, i doubt we see that game until 2023 or later.

I wanted to shout out for Sony not hyping today's events like MS would. Its helping having expectations in check.
So as I said earlier today I've had my expectations on check and still get somewhat ... disappointed. Beside Hood and hitman VR there were no title that gained my interest. It was indie/Asian market type of show and I know it had its audience. For me its more like silence before storm. I'm only AAA player as you can say already.
I've rated last sony show 8/10, today's show is strong 4/10 but no hurt feelings, ive expected that after their tweet unhyping this event.

At least we saw more things up and running on PS5, which some guys can't say.

I thought Elden Ring and Crossfire (Remedy's new game) both have marketing deals with Microsoft.

I think its Cod or ass of can's prediction Elder scrolls. GTA6 is ways out and if this was true, its GG (and the internet would burn)
