I think this will be right simply because sadly these days Sony don't have anyone publicly facing that seems to like engaging with the community (Even Sid Shuman is hardly ever heard from or seen!). I hope they do something

Sony have been very smart and shown their experience during the Covid-19 disruption. Not confirming or committing to dates for launch games but still being confident in saying at their investor/financial meetings they don't expect any issues or delays for launch. After all most of their own games this gen had various delays. They learnt the lesson the hard way.

Just got home from work and see the Halo news. That's...absolutely devastating for Microsoft. But yet, they go back to hinging on playing BC.

That's not what people buy next-gen systems FOR, though it's a nice and robust feature they have.

No wonder they are so coy on price. Going to be REAL hard to justify that tag with no major hitters to show for it.

Here's the kicker--a bungled showcase, a lower powered SKU and ecosystem that developers don't seem keen on, and now the delay of your biggest title for your upcoming system.

Through all that? Sony has basically said NOTHING and next-gen just keeps falling into their lap. I don't know what exclusives they may have lined up, but when those are announced..it'll be

I stopped caring about Halo ever since Bungie left, so I might be biased, but considering Microsoft's platform strategy for this generation, I really think this doesn't change anything for the battle to come. Not to mention Microsoft is being challenged as the gaming OS, by Proton on Linux.

It's not a bad call to kill two birds with one stone using Game pass.

At any rate, looks like we're in for 3 very different experiences from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. 128 bits vibes... that ended with one of the console manufacturers disappearing.

The campaign setting, I guess. It gives me a vibe of Grand Theft Auto with a Cyberpunk flavor on top. Plus, the bestiary is probably going to be all humans/cyborgs, and that gets a hard pass from me.

Birdie knows more about Sony stuff though he had thought we would be getting an Xbox show very soon.

The writing has been on the walls for quite some time this delay was incoming and the reveal was the final blow.

The talk was Xbox was going to have a show pretty early here this month but it seems to have been pushed a whole month back.

It is literally next-gen GTA 5. (I liked GTA 5 though.) Same 3 protagonists, same big city and desert around it map. except it's first person, which I don't like as much as 3rd person. And Witcher 3 combat was the weakest link in that game, so how are they going to make fun FPS combat now? Plus nothing in their showcases has wowed me yet, but it does seem like a cool game.

Just feels like the real version will be next-gen and like in 2 years from now. Witcher 3 changed so much after launch, they even patched in a new way to walk/move in the game, added way more content, etc. I just know the launch version of CyberPunk on PS4 will be the worst way to play it. CyberPunk 2077 in 2022 on PS5 though, that should be worth the wait.

Looking at the video properly through YouTube... I'd honestly say late current gen/early next gen.
Graphically, it looks stupendous.
But I think my mind is stuck on the notion that Next Gen is when we get massive big sprawling worlds like in Horizon Forbidden West or the Unreal demo.

Tlou 2 was already finished then. Delayed from Feb. to May was before Covid appeared globally. GOT was pushed automatically 3 weeks further as TLOU 2 from May to June. GOT date was in June too. They would be so close each other. It doesn't make sense
