How much next gen xbox gaming will cost us in Australia

In my country, the guy on a limited budget is the guy who has bad internet connection. The cheaper model in this case doesn't solv his problem. Same applies to playstation. I don't know why a digital console is marketed as a budget option ? Any thoughts?

What kind of connections are typical where you are at? In US 100mbit is essentially the starting point if you don't live in the middle of nowhere, game downloads take a minute, but nothing extreme.

In my country a 100 mb/s starts at $50/ month. The cheap option is 4G/5G which is limited bandwidth and variable speed. Even at high speed, 4G/5G are garbage because tjey are severely limited for download. I think 5 to 10 GB / day limit.

Considering there's literally nothing different between the regular PS5 and the digital edition, people are just calling it the "budget" console because it will most likely be $50-$100 cheaper. It's not implying anything else. Xbox has a truly "budget" version of their next-gen consoles, but on Sony's side that just reflects the slight price difference. Having a cheaper version of the console is attractive to a lot of people at the moment.

I hoped we weren't gonna see this again in next gen...I was wrong...I gotta wait PS6... :messenger_anxious: :messenger_weary:

For PS5, the digital option is not "budget." Just a way for Sony to make more money and cut out used games, retail, etc. Hence why they'd sell it at a lower price.

Xbox is doing the budget S model to sell people a console thats just for Game Pass.

Well, Sony does not market it as a budget option. So you are right. But XSS is little confusing. A guy on budget will need to pay for internet and expansive SSD expansion to play on the cheap console.

I pay $70/mo for 100mbps, don't complain. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Don't get me started on 4G/5G limits at 5 to 10GB/day, Jesus, most of the "unlimited" plans available to me are like 50GBs a month high speed and then dial-up thereafter. Come in being faux humble and then flaunting your ISP superiority. I see you. I see you.

The PS5 DE is same specs, same power, same box. Just no disc. Not budget.

Xbox Series S having likely less than 400 GB of usable space is not good.

But for those on a budget, the best option for more storage is an external hard drive. Put all games not being played on an external USB HDD and use the SSD for the games one currently plays.

But the downloads required for games is part of modern life/tech. Gaming basically requires the internet now. Not actually, but essentially.

Are you in NA? I can never understand how in the UK, and probably EU generally, we get much better deals for internet, mobile and TV. Here is the current deal (~$100pm for the lot) with the place I'm with.

It is down to the developer to create old gen 3d models? Very good developer then...So far I've seen the same situation in many "next gen" games
Lol dude the game looks really bad. Go watch their extended gameplay. They r a 20 people team with very small budget.it has nothing to do with hardware as this is running on a pc

It's a very small indie studio, and the game is not very good looking in general in gameplay.

Which other games are you talking about? There will always be something to nitpick in every game. This is just silly.

We have a whole lot of empty space in the US. The sprawl is real and makes it difficult to get high speed everywhere. That and we have a lot of legal bullshit monopolies that have little incentive to charge any less than they absolutely have to.

Yep, we invented it, but still have an overpriced, underperforming mess. That's a crazy deal. A package like that would probably set me back about $200 -$300.

Ask yourself a question:

Why are Sony so silent?

The answer is either that they are in serious trouble with Ps5 pricing, and have no new games to show.

Or... they have megatons, and they know it.

Now, considering their market dominance over the past few years, and all the rumours swirling about money hats... which do you think is more likely?
The answer is: they have an schedule and they act upon reason and not emotions.

Wake up, people, Sony is not a bunch of fanboys that need to counter every single Microsoft news. No matter how you feel, Sony having control to decide when and what they will show is still an advantage over Microsoft, that had their unannounced console and prices leaked.

Reason, reason, reason.

Feel for ya. Strange there isn't more competition in more densely populated areas though. I pay like 50 bucks a month for 750mbit full duplex, unlimited data usage.

That could be you if you let them grow long enough.

Must suck to have those things attached in these wash-your-hands-every-10 min-times we are living in. Edward Covid-Hands right there.

Guys XBOX all access is a bad deal.
Let's do the math.
XSX will cost 500 dollar plus tax ,that brings it to 540 dollars (estimate).
Console - 500$ + 40$ tax
XBOX live gold- 100 for 2 years (worst case scenario)
XBOX two games - 120
Total - 860$

XBOX series x with all access
35 dollar for 24 months - 840$
Two new games - 120
total - 960$
If you buy console itself you will have a choice where to spend your money but with all access you have less choice and you might end up spending more.

Does the XSS even qualify as next gen hardware other than launching at the same time? It more of a mid-tier piece of current gen hardware. The CPU is an upgrade and SSD is an improvement, but it's the weakest piece of launch hardware ever to be released. It's a market grab attempt by Microsoft for sure, but I'm not sure the home casual market is salivating for hardware that is dated on arrival.

You have 2 years Gamepass for that $100. That'll be good value for many.

I'm in a mid sized city (300-400k), these are the better prices. Rural users pay over $100 for 2mbps down/128k up in some areas via satellite (mobile isn't available in those areas).

At their own pace we are not getting an event until a day before the console release. Microsoft have a pre-order date and XSS is going to sell like hot cakes at that price and that will eat from your market share. Sony fucked up. Plain and simple.
Dude, Sony is the current market leader and showed pretty games running on their console, MS was the one to put some work.

The idea of All Access is it includes 2 years of Game Pass Ultimate.

That's 15/month x24 = $360.

Then either +10 or +20 more for Series S/X. $25/$35.

You don't save much money with All Access at those prices. But for some, its better to spread out the cost of a console over monthly payments.

If you want a new Xbox, don't mind signing a contract and taking on some debt, and were planning on buying Game Pass Ultimate anyway for 2 years, then it makes sense.

Otherwise yeah just buy the console, own it, and then you have more options on how you spend on games/services.

You guys do realize that is the older Xbox One S at 30fps, not the Series S shown at 120fps right? Or were you fudding on purpose? (Both would be acceptable to me haha)

Sssssuush it.
Don´t tell nobody! :D

Still looks shite though.

Just noticed that PS5 is being advertised on the court floor in today's NBA playoff games.

So big on the floor that you can't miss it, must have been expensive.

That's just the way the game looks in multi-player on 1 and 1s. There is a noticeable blurring of anything outside of your immediate area (and it's a small radius). Unlike Craig though, things improve quite a bit as you move close to objects. The 1X version looks a lot better, but obviously XSS isn't running that vs. at 120fps. The campaign looks a lot better.

Guess which hand he uses to wipe his arse or? That guy does not give a fuck about nothing and he got awarded for being a dumbo. He cant do jackshit alone. Feel sorry for his wife, wasting time with some dumbo like this should be awarded as well.

900p 120 fps on 4 tflops is still pretty impressive.

of course there is no way they are going to be able to get the single player to run at 120 fps on 4 tflops. even at 720p. mp in gears is basically tiny maps with corridors. basically last gen design compared to what cod is doing nowdays with warzone and ground war. there is no way the latest cod is able to do 120 fps on the series s.
