I agree, and it was again Bloomberg that said back when everything was finalized and was about to enter production that sony aims for a more limited production than ps4, fearing higher cost and epidemic economics.
That's where the "5 to 6 million units until March 31st" came from.
I am saying they didn't issue any statement falsifying either that one.
And Bloomberg saying that you will produce less than your previous launch is not great news, but yet they remained silent.

I don't think there's any circumstance where pre-orders would not be up on Amazon as soon as they go live. It's simply too important a retailer.

I pass on the gist of what I'm told. Personally I'm excited. I have a new Xbox Series X and PS5 DE coming this fall. New next gen games! I can't wait for pre orders 2 open. I'm blessed, multimillionaire. I sitting outside drinking some Jim Bean and waiting on the pool guy to come clean my pool. Trying to decide what Headphones I'm going to buy for my PS5 DE. I know the Pulse headsets support The Tempst audio engine. But I'm scared of the build quality. Reminds me to much of the PS GOLD headsets. I had 3 pair of them. To me the build Quality was bad. Do you have any insight into PS5 Headsets or advice to give me?

No wonder Sony responded so quick, their share prices dropped 3.5% in a day wiping out couple of billions in market cap.
I still feel Bloomberg are not your regular run of the mill trash but their information was too vague and probably outdated. Ain't no console manufacturer binning their SoC with yields at ~50%, If it were true, that thing would've been delayed months ago and being re-designed as of now. 5m per quarter or 4m per quarter, we'll never quite know what the updated forecast was from Sony when they increased production but the doom and gloom surrounding the machine yesterday was as usual way OTT. That thing is still tracking to be the biggest and fastest selling PlayStation yet, so rest easy. Sony know what they are doing, this isn't their first rodeo with a console launch.

Anyway, one logic sense, if Sony goes really aggressive with price tomorrow, you can bet that 11-15 mil. till end of March 2021 is true. There is no other way around. There will be a high demand surely

I think one thing has to be mentioned.
Sony is the market leader and therefore wants to appeal to everyone.
They want parents to buy a PS5 for their kids. Or show parents who want a PS5 that this a good investment because it also has a lot of kid friendly games.
So do expect to see "kids" games. Expect to see games that are a bit "out there". Games with mass a niche appeal. Its not gonna be 40 minutes of GoW, HZD, Silent Hill, Spiderman, GT7 and so on. Not every game shown will appeal to YOU. In fact there might only be one or two games that will appeal to YOU in particular. Out of maybe 15 games. Remember that.
You are not the only video game playing human on earth and your taste is NOT universal. Sony will try to appeal to as many folks as possible and with launch line ups being rather small, that means only very few games will cater to ones specific taste.
Also do not forget that most games are about 3 months or more behind schedule because of Covid. So even if there were rumors about certain games it does not mean they are ready for a showing just yet. Showing of a vertical slice like the E3 presentation of HZD or GoW takes weeks (!!!) of work. If you have to decide between working on that vertical slice or getting the game out earlier and make money it will always be getting the game out. So maybe they cant show good gameplay of games they intended to show and it will just be some pre render or logo reveal or dev interview. Its probably what happened to some of the stuff from the xbox showing.
I can not stress enough how important it is to accept these things so I wont have to read about "how fucking disappointing" it was. Its only a disappointment if you set yourself up for it.
Despite a lot of rumors I still only expect Spiderman as AAA on release, plus maybe some AA stuff (Little big Planet or Bugsnax or whatever). The rest will be filled with 3rd party timed exclusives or exclusive content that probably no one asked for. Everything else probably comes later.
That is the mindset I have set for myself. End of the year is still going to be great with Mafia Remake, Cyberpunk and Spiderman. Maybe some cool indy game like 12 hours.

Anyone read anything about whether they're planning any next gen upgrades? I'd imagine 4k/120 with RT should be fairly easily attainable on this.

I'm hyped for Mafia Remake, CyberPunk, AC Valhalla and SpiderMan Miles. Any other great games this fall will be a blessing. Though I'm curious where the story is going in Destiny 2 new expansion...kinda has my interest peaked!

Best I have ever managed was drifting between Diamond 3 and Champion 1 but was never able to hold Champ.
Pretty happy sticking in the Diamond area.

I never had a crew to play with so my ranking was all over the place
It was always a crapshoot depending on how skilled my random teammates were.Some of my most played games this gen have been through PS+ (Resogun, Rocket League, Binding of Isaac) and I'm hoping we get some solid PS+ games around launch.
