I mean, devs complaining about the Series S were third party devs. Whatever Sony does with their first party games has no bearing on their work. Sony could have Guerrilla release the next Horizon on PS2, it won't hold back what the Doom devs do with the next Doom or what platforms they choose to develop it for.
The issue a lot of devs saw with Series S was not that they have to make games for it now, but that it will always be anchored to the Series X. Everybody knows Xbox One and PS4 will be dropped by third-parties in a couple of years, but Series S is there to stay.

Sony is keeping the controller same cost as the generation's games.

Launch games are usually not that great to begin with, so I don't see what the fuss is about. We definitely have a better lineup versus the PS4 launch. It's all good.
Also, I'm guessing October now for the user interface and teardown. We'll see.

Preorderrd PS5 DE at Gamestop and PS5 "normal" at Saturn here in Germany. Judging from the server performance people are going crazy... after midnight on a Wednesday...

The UK sales figures for FF15 were reportedly close to 80:20 in favour of PS and that's a region that XBox did pretty decent in this gen. Really not a big shock to me that Square took whatever Sony offered for exclusivity.

Sony has to clarify what their exclusivity clauses entail, or they could be accused of misleading advertisement. They can't say "This game will ONLY come to our platform", when they already know that the contract they signed with Square Enix does not prevent them from also releasing it on PC.
The moment Sony wants to make an exclusivity claim, they have to clarify. When they are not doing so and simply saying "It's coming to PS5", they don't. Square Enix also doesn't have to clarify anything, since they are not making an exclusivity claim either.

What will separate PS4 and PS5 versions of HFW? Some brand new game mechanics? Much richer world simulation? Smarter AI? Or just visuals? If it's just visuals, then it's not a fully fledged PS5 game. I want games that are not possible on past-gen consoles. Just being prettier doesn't do much for me at all.

Dude. Console gaming is all about optimization against a target platform. PS4 has games like GoT because of that. The less choice there is means higher quality given a finite budget. For people that only game on ps, it is absolutely something to be happy with. Why is it a surprise to you? Watched too much xboxing briefing?
