It's funny how we are constantly told how this forum is full of Sony fanboys. Microsoft buys a studio and all the Xbox fanboys are uniting and making stupid threads again.
It comes down to the mindshare I think, right now everyone is talking about Microsoft and their fans who've been hiding in the woodworks since Playstaion's June event decide to come out of hiding, this fluctuates throughout the year and I've noticed it so many times.

did you missed the part that, from now on, they are first party studios.
if yes, be consistent and go ask that from sony too....
i'm with you !
Mojang and Obsidian are first party as well. Yet we saw Outer Worlds and Minecraft being released on other platforms.
Both Ori games on switch as well.
Considering the following:

- They publicly saying they are going after Stadia and not Sony.
- They are not focusing on selling hardware.
- How they are handling their first party studios.

All of that and my financial explanation, it pretty much sums up why it makes sense IMHO for them to have some games multiplatform. The lack of "in the future, all these IPs will be exclusive to xbox and gamepass." declaration of sorts, makes this pretty much as a possibility.

Please don't mix my view with the PCMR crowd "All your exclusives are belong to us" after one game.

Maybe mental gymnastics is a bit harsh as thats usually associated with someone who is dissociated with reality a bit. I meant it more in that people are listening to publishers statements that contradict each other all the time.

This "development costs have ballooned like crazy," and "games are more expensive to make than ever," might be factual but they don't look at the reasons behind it while also looking at what the publisher is stating in their financials. Theres a disconnect and I attribute it to the fact that most people will say, eh ok whatever and throw the extra $10 down. Thats just the free market.

But that doesn't mean people should just take it lying down. They should be asking questions.
I see your point and I agree. It just boils down to money in the end and people want the green. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Wasn't there a thread about the rumour of Sony buying them? Would love to see if there was any anti-consumer comments in that thread.
Exactly! You remember the backlash they got over Spiderman being exclusive in the Avengers game. Lol fucking ridiculous. Even when Insomniac was purchased there was an uproar even though they made one game for Xbox. Hypocrisy.

Okay so this is what's happening:
- Microsoft bought Zenimax.
- This means Microsoft is now Bethesda's parent company (just as Zenimax was before).
- Past, present and future Bethesda titles will be on Gamepass from now on.
- Bethesda games will continue to be self published on the platform they want, just like they did before when Zenimax was their parent company, and just like companies like Rockstar do it despite being owned by Take Two. BUT Microsoft can decide if a certain game (probably a new IP) will be an Xbox-PC exclusive.

The first half of your message conflicts with the second half.
so they don't have that kind of money, yet it is third of their cash? very logical sentences :messenger_tears_of_joy:
they could easily buy zenimax.

and it is not 1 gaming studio. it is 8, and most important, is those studio's IPs.

this is massive in gaming world actually.
What I mean is that you don't spend 1/3 of your money on a group of gaming studios. You need more money such that an acquisition of that size doesn't have such a big impact. Which is why I said they didn't have enough money.

Outer world and Minecraft were finished before the acquisition.
and ori is not even first party. It's just a timed exclusive deal. Nothing special.
Also, Minecraft is a phenomenon. Can't compare it to anything else really

TO be honest it's so good to see MS rolling.
But we'll need to wait until 2022 at best to see anything meaningfull.
For Sony fans it only means that Sony will need to be much better than this gen, and this is awesome.
In 2022 i'll buy XSX probably when first AAA will starting to showup and we can judge their quality.

So basically MS will also have great generation.
And for Sony that mean few things :
1) Sony will think again about having Sony Pass with exclusives, they have no choice. Price will be probably higher than GP but not having something similar will only hurt their consoles sales.
2) Sony will stop thinking about porting anything on PC. It makes no sense to port their games to PC when they need to really compete right now with that exclusive content. They were thinking about that because they already thought they won generation ( like we all playstation fans did). And they probably win launch, but by the end 2023 it will be much harder to anybody to choose PS5 over MS if MS also can provide high quality exclusives for price of GP.
3) Sony will probably speed up any taking over they have in background. No way around it, they need more studios if they want as many exclusive content as MS. I know it's all about quality, but quantity also matter if your competitor can have 2 EXCLUSIVES MONTHLY IN MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION.

COMPETITION IS GREAT.

Phil I'm really sorry, you really had an idea for that. Have a nice generation xbox-fans.
Today was MS redemption.

Sure.... MS just gifted 7,5B $ for nothing 😉
There's still the possibility that xbox's strategy is to make all new games available on gamepass day 1, while people on the PS5 platform will have to pay full price for them. Taking advantage of that ownership while still making that multiplatform money.

Still, we will see how this turns out.

hot damn this week is gonna be good

I am going to assume that there is one more acquisition coming for MS. But who would that be? I doubt that Ubisoft would be up for grab, EA probably not since they seem to be too costly. SE seems to be in the Sony camp with 2(?) timed exclusives, but we saw how that went with bethesda lol. Since there were rumours of sony buying zenimax, maybe MS was the one that actually went for Konami? Would help them reach the japanese market.

That depends on if you are firmly in one camp or the other :)

Good for PC camp? :P

What about Minecraft Dungeons?
Or isn't Skyrim a phenomenon? (I love it, I have it on PC/PS4 and Switch. Yeah, I'm part of the problem). :messenger_grinning_sweat:
I've already stated my points in detail. I believe we'll end up seeing Doom/Fallout/Elder Scrolls on PS5.
For those who don't agree: The crow will eventually be served and we'll see who will end up eating it. :messenger_sunglasses:

For me :
if those games will be good and in GP for few bucks and on PS5 for 69$, i would buy XSX just to save on those games in long run. Even if i can have those on my PS5.

MS still desperately needs an Asian studio, but I wouldn't hold my breath for Konami. I wish they'd just created their own XGS japan but that's a fanboy pipedream I'm not ashamed to admit

Well i'm on about the part after, the fact that he says once those contracts have been honoured, Bethesda has been bought for the Xbox community and now they have 23 studios that will be producing games for Xbox & PC.
You dont need to be a pshychologist to get what he's saying here.

Fixed it for you :)

Those are consumer decisions. You choose what you fell is good in the moment.
Today MS persuade me to give them another try in mide-gen when their games will start show-up cheap in GP.

If i see that God of war avatar changed for a picture of Phil spencers Butt-cheeks we are so fucking done for.

There are lines you must not cross. :messenger_heart:
