Your not entitled to a free upgrade. No one is. Its nice company's do it. But they don't have to. You bought the game on PS4. The PS5 version is an upgraded game with work being done to it. That's a different version.

You expect people to spend time upgrading games & not get paid for it?? Do you do extra work for free??

All these companys pull this shit of every new gen. Best policy is pay no one. Buy the next gen games and move on.
I agree, but at least they could let people pay to upgrade their PS4 Spiderman instead of forcing them to buy another game to be entitled.

We live in the Gamepass world now, if you try to charge more than USD$15 per month, you are greedy...

I doub't that it's possible to do it secretly.
You need shareholder approval in general shareholder meeting (it will leak from there almost certainly, given that there are a lot of minoritary shareholders) as Sega certainly above threshold of selling assets (20%). 2/3 required votes will be a problem in itself. And you need regulatory approval of foreign investments which itself takes around 3 months to finish if I understood properly.

Sega (entertainment content) actually about 2/3 of Sega Sammy revenue (of which games, packaged and digital are 50% and the rest heavily depends on IPs), selling it is like dissolving company.
Yeah good thinking, laps in thinking on my part.

Since their owner is publicly traded such a large sale would normally be impossible in secret.

But I don't know Japanese law; the urban legend is they don't even allow big sales to foreign countries but no clue how true that is. I do know it was incredibly difficult for a company I worked for that was global to get any sort of corporate presence inside of Japan.

The question is do they care to fight scalpers if they are getting the money anyway?

Yes, they do care indeed. Those extra dollars for scalpers could potentially be Sony's money for games or accessories instead, so they're losing some potential money. It's not like Nvidia's case that they only sell graphics cards.

Welp...it was fun while it lasted

Sega is acquiring Xbox CONFIRMED! Dreamcast 2...

I still wonder what the heck would happen to our digital game libraries if Xbox did shut up shop. It's not going to happen in my lifetime, I hope. 😂

To be fair, the fact that MS fought back against their continued spiral downward is a good thing for the fans. Microsoft has just saved the lives of a lot of suicidal fanboys. A healthy xbox business is a healthy fanboy.

I would rather buy a Sony SSD that's 12-channel instead of that. I hope they make it, and leave the choice as well for other to contribute. Some might use them as simple as storage, and bring them back internally when they wanna play them. 8-channel instead of 12-channel, 2 priority levels instead of 6? I can't see it working 100%.

It's the sum of all the parts. The individual parameters don't matter as much as long as the sustained throughput matches or exceeds the internal drive. As Cerny said, the drives that they approve will have to have adequate bandwidth headroom to compensate for fewer channels and priority levels. I can see a wide range of drives meeting their minimum specification. Some doing it through pure brute force (Very high bandwidth) Some eventually matching or exceeding 12 channels, 2/4/6 prority levels etc.

So whatever combination of specs the drive has, as long as it passes their stress tests and gets the Sony stamp of approval, it will work just like the internal drive.

I'm gonna buy 2x of those for $398 each later when I get a7S III.

Give me quality, and I'll pay. But options are great.

Regardless, I am happy they are selling well. This proves two thinks: 1) Competition is back and both Sony and Microsoft have to do their best and release many AAA games. 2) consoles are more popular and Mobile/ Cloud are not gonna kill consoles. Consoles are bigger than ever, not only that, but both consoles are growing in countries that were never in the map of gaming. Look, KSA and UAE are now huge gaming markest. We've never seen them before in a list like that.

Many game developers have matured and know how to handle their franchises. Capcom, Square Enix come to mind on how they were able to revive their franchises.

Console gaming is about to explode. Expect a total of 200 million next gen consoles to be sold by 2025. The hype, the pre orders, the sales are all pointing to that.

I feel you, bro, but those numbers are too small and they're talking about one or two days preorders, not even the whole month. Other countries maybe had some other stuff like panties surpassing XSX sales. We're not talking about millions like PS5.

you know my stance on gamepass, it's bad for quality.

To be fair, some of Sega's IPs could fit in the subscription model like Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi. But they can't simply just give those IPs to Ninja Theory for example and expect the same reception. The original charm of the game will be hard to recapture if the creatives of the games are now working somewhere else.

So far, no one has given a convincing argument as to how Microsoft will make sure to maintain a high overall quality on the service longterm. What regulatory measures are there to make sure that Microsoft won't sit on their large userbase laurels and haphazardly throw in any game regardless of quality? Will Microsoft hike up the rates a few years later? Will the amount of games in rotation remain the same? How are developers compensated when they release their games on Gamepass?

You might be right. This fucker is still there begging for some one to buy him

Lol damn makes sense l. Long ass load screens

Well, that explains a lot, lol.

But I wonder, the OG XBox had a 8GB hard drive, did it not? What exactly was the hard drive used for? I mean, 8GB was way too much just for game saves. Did some games use it for data streaming, like on later consoles, or were all XBox games being streamed from the disc? Because I don't remember ever having to wait for any game to be installed, it was plug-and-play, just like on PS2 and Gamecube.

I agree it is worrisome.

I have said this many times. If Microsoft was prepared to let their flagship game Halo ship like that in a staged demo to show off the power of a next-generation console, be very fucking afraid.

Quality is going to take a nosedive in a few years, the brilliance of the doom remakes, what will happen to them, from 9/10 to 8/10 and lower.

Are we going to see more and more micro transaction games to pay for all the fodder that will come to gamepass,

Microsoft loves there services, look how this new fall out shit went, its like a marriage made in heaven.

What is starfield going to look like, elder scrolls, i hope for fans its going to be just single player experiences but i have a huge doubt in the back of my mind, i fear Microsoft is going to fuck everyone in the end.

All i wanted for Microsoft was to make quality games, that's it, not change the entire scope of gaming for the worse.

I posted this in another thread. I'll post it here too.

Game Pass competition to entice kids and casual players:
  • free-to-play games
  • quick casual mobile games
  • fortnite/cod
  • fifa/nba
  • whatever the next big thing is in gaming

Game Pass problem to entice older gamers (25+):
  • not many older gamers can burn hours upon hours of time to play video games
  • they may not find value in it even if it has hundreds of games if they only play 1 game for a month or two
  • they would rather buy a game and spend their limited time to play a game that they really love than take their chance on a curated rental service

Cerny literally said they will work, there's nothing to worry about. Non-proprietary storage is always less expensive and thats better for users. Those SSDs will keep falling in price over time and thats great news for us. It'll be fine for gameplay if it's certified to work in the PS5. Just gotta wait for Sony to tell us.

I can't confirm this 100% but heard whispers and second hand. That Xbox Had more consoles on hand for retailers for pro order then Sony did. I was told Sony only had a 3rd world wide compared to what Xbox had available yesterday. Also Another wave of PS5 pre orders will be available later this week and early next week. Heard Xbox might have a second wave of pre orders for the second week of October. I have been told after the Xbox Second wave that retailers don't expect another wave for Xbox until launch day. As Sony supposedly keeping in contact with Major Retailers.

Like I said can't confirm this 100% but this is what I'm hearing. If HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 heard or can added anything please do.

I haven't watched it yet, and maybe it just contains basic things we already know. But I thought I'd post it to take a little break from gloating.

The gamestop numbers at least don't line up with this information so I'm skeptical. It seemed like every gamestop got around 20+ PS5s and less than 10 Xboxes.

We already know all about your sources....

I can't confirm this. But Rumor through sources and they are third and fourth hand rumors. Is Sony PS5 Emails will get first Pre Orders. Then Retail stores will get Pre Orders availability.

GameStop had 5 to 10x the amount to preorder in stores anyhow I have no way of knowing their online stock.

It is expected we will have a second wave of PS5 preorders coming within a week or so.

And stores are expecting more Xbox preorders before launch.

This was all coming from a Gamestop regional manager

yeah exactly! PS5 can't even run any games its too weak lololol

But can it run Crysis?!

Beyond all the trolling done on both sides of the fence, in which we all indulge from time to time, some people really go "off road" and they keep on going. In love and console wars, everything is permitted.

GoT is my GOTY of heart, had so much more fun with it than TLOU2. :messenger_smiling_hearts:
I just got to start GoT. My wife finished it first while I worked on TLOU2. TLOU2 is great technically, but the story pales to the original title. I agree GoT is better title. I didn't care for Abby, my wife would mop the floor with her scrawny ass.

I'm highly skeptical of the 1/3 part. Haven't seen anything from retails that indicate that large of a gap between the two platforms.

Now are you talking about both Xboxs combined or just the X?
