For those who don't get the reference:
Aliens Vs Predator 2 was excellent.
Aliens Colonial Marines is your typical Gearbox garbage.

Mistook the web site as offical Xbox, old news.
However, interesting points you make, care to elaborate on your thoughst and opinions ?
He said it in a podcast for Kotaku.Never saw that. I (partially) retract my criticism.

Jason Schreier's industry sources: PS5 is superior in ways that Sony has not communicated yet
I don't like feeling that I have to preface with this, but I honestly don't give a crap about fanboy wars nor is this some 'dGPU' hopeful bullshit that would completely close every gulf with the SeX, but it does seem interesting that a guy with known well placed industry sources is saying Sony...www.neogaf.com
And in a tweet already posted in this page.

You know if Jason Schreier is correct and xbox does in fact have the inferior machine, i wonder where that leaves Microsoft in terms of this generation.
Having an inferior console and no exclusives for a few good years is one hell of a battering. Maybe we will see a new revised console with better specs for them to compete. Perhaps another reduction in price, 50 bucks or so in price.
Will Microsft be happy to play second fiddle for the next 4 years?

HDMI 2.1 is the new hdmi standard VRR or Variable Refresh Rate is one of the new supported features which is basically freesync. So what's the deal with HDMI 2.1 and the PS5/Xsex?
Hopefully you guys can clarify a few things because theres such a lack of information on all this.
When people are saying "you won't be able to take advantage of VRR without HDMI 2.1!" What exactly are we taking advantage of ? Is the technology automatically built in the chipset and when you plug it into a compatible tv you gain access to it for everything? Or is it on a game by game basis and the developer has to decide whether they'll incorporate it. Also we currently have access to HDR with HDMI 2.0 but apparently we're gonna get superior hdr witha higher color gamut ? Is this across the board or on a game by game basis as well ?
Since most games will be at 30fps or 60fps I don't really care about 120hz and if I'm gonna upgrade my 4K tv that's still good, there has to be a good reason to do it.
These you tubers are making it seem like we need these TVs when nobody knows wtf is going on lol
Hopefully you guys can clarify thx !!

OuchWhen you literally can't think of any bullshit to post and pass as a leaker.
You mean Elizabeth Hurley, who was a bit of a saggy mess IMO, but still a good-looking woman. Heather Graham was in the 2nd movie. She was Rollergirl in Boogie Nights and The Hangover. I'll always have ai used to love Heather Graham, now that was a woman. Cough.
Get that hugh grant skank off there.
But what if the PS5 is equivalent of 13tfs compared to XSX due to the difference in RDNA feature sets.Only thing that rubs me wrong way was your comments about u playing ps5 games and having reports ready to be posted on the day of reveal but it never happened. Then u made comments that ps5 is so weak (after ur 13 tf talk) after the reveal but for us to find out that it performs just like xsx if not better in some cases like dmc5 where raytracing is patched later for xsx.

HDMI 2.1 is the new hdmi standard VRR or Variable Refresh Rate is one of the new supported features which is basically freesync.
To get all the added benefits of hdmi 2.1 you need 3 things a HDMI 2.1 TV/Monitor a hdmi 2.1 source and a HDMI 2.1 cable, Why do you need a new cable you ask ? well because to support all the new features and the higher resolution and or faster frame rates, the cable needed to triple it's bandwidth to accommodate for added features.
The following are the new features of the hdmi 2.1 standard:

I think it will be a system wide setting, if a compatible device is detected it should give an option in the system setting to enable VRR which should work in all games. Like the xbone s and x did.Sorry I should of been clearer my bad! I'm aware that vrr is a new feature to hdmi 2.1 and that you need a tv/monitor, PS5 (for example) and the cable it comes with to take advantage of the feature.
What's not clear is that does it just work out of the box or is it something thats gonna be implemented on a game by game basis? Same thing with enhanced color gamut with dynamic HDR.
I'm not gonna upgrade my tv for Dirt 5 in 120 fps or Fortnite and I'm not a PC gamer. If you're telling me that VRR/freesync works from the get go with games like Miles Moralis etc I'm all in. If it's a feature that will work some of the time then I'll just stick with my hdmi 2.0 4k dolby vision TV I have now instead of dropping 2 grand.

i think we only can wait and see after the embargo lifts or consumers get the machines to be able to know for sure how each system deals with the new features.
What a total load of fanboy shit that is. Jason Schreier is incorrect, and its not like he has an inside track to find out anything Xbox related. Anyway, you or others can be as delusional as you want./

So we got to the point where they can't accurately pixel count games due to great reconstruction techniques. It seems they think it's dynamic resolution just becuase Insomniac has done that in the past but they're not sure. But anyway, now I know why they said they needed to find another way to analyze and compare games, bacause unless the devs straight out say it, there's no way to tell if it's a native resolution or not.

but what if it is true?
These cache scrubbers need to count for something yer?, what about those coherency cores?
i mean they are custom silicon, why are you just dismissing them off the bat?
Both consoles are going to have features that the other doesn't have.
Don't see whyoldergamer is calling that BS.
I think it's more to do with ps5 having it that upsets him.
If the article said xbox has cache scrubbers, oldgamer would have been all over it like an Eskimo over a seal cub.
Fucking EVERYBODY???And who could forget all that custom hardware for the I/O?
Boogie NightsI think you misread my post abit, i think Huge grant and Elizabeth Hurly went out together or were married. Thats why i kinda referenced him.
Trust me, i def know who Heather Graham is, i first fell in love with her from the movie lost in space.
Also Jason is one of the most if not the most reliable gaming journalist out there. Just his scoops from this year alone speak from themselves. Even is someone doesn't like him we can't deny the dude hears a lot of stuff that ends up being true. Both consoles are going to have features that the other doesn't have.

It's all a month away and bitches still be bitching about the same old shit.

Sony skipping E3, Horizon on PC, saying E3 has being cancelled before it was officially announced, PS5 not winning the Tflops war, The Future of Gaming date/week, Halo Infinite's development issues and it possibly being released in parts, crunch at Naughty Dog and CD Projekt Red, and more. He received a lot of shit for some of his claims but we all know how things turned out.

Out of topic - just installed Alien Isolation on my PC via Game Pass (played it years ago on my PS4). Started replaying it. Man, I forgot how awesome that game was ...
![]()
When you play the game you can tell that it was made by fans of the franchise. They really nailed the atmosphere with it.
It's Blast Processing vs Mode 7 regenerating itself in some weird Doctor Who vs The Master fashion. It really is sad to see some people claim they they don't have exclusive features. It'd always like this every generation.

He is being humourous, comparing your 10-10. TF insider information to that quality tweet by Dealer, the real insider lol
At this point I would be disappointed if the PS5 does not have a form of 'Infinity Cache' and a RDNA2 feature that 'utilizes high clocks speeds' for RT. Or some proprietary magical feature that utilizes their SSD, Cache and high clock speeds. It really is sad to see some people claim they they don't have exclusive features. Going back to Jason's comment. If Sony didn't talk about those features it's probably due to an NDA.
Pretty interesting how an embargo for the PS5 is lifting right around AMDs RDNA2 event.

I don't understand, I think all of that has already been confirmed on Road to PS5.At this point I would be disappointed if the PS5 does not have a form of 'Infinity Cache' and a RDNA2 feature that 'utilizes high clocks speeds' for RT. Secret sauce or bust
Jason was of the insiders guys that say TFs didn't really shows what PS5 is... the devs told him the machine is not less powerful like the TFs seems to show.
Hi guys! Been lurking this thread the whole time. Can't remeber when my last post was, maybe the day before Cerny's GDC talk. I can't wait for the PS5 to release it will be awesome! I decided to go with a new sony 4k tv but it seems like I'll get it in 2021. I got a guided tour this summer and got to see the PS5 devkit irl. Pretty cool! Need to get some good headphones also, the sound is crazy good!
I'll say both consoles are beasts and no matter wich one you choose it will make you happy. The best alternetive would be to get both of them if you have the money and time. Sadly for me I barely got time for one. As stated before I won't bother to get vetted so I won't answer any questions.
The time for a new gen is soon here and my god it's time!
Take care guys! Some of you are funny as hell and I like the atmosphere in this forum more than any other forum. Ok back to lurking for me!

it's just the irony. A deal that is supposed to help one company long term helps their competition in the more crucial short term especially with the x's first year being really low on exclusives.
I remember one of my first girlfriends, when kissing her, she sounded like a pig at a trough.
Do not underestimate the power of low noise..

Yeah, I meant Infinity Cache wasn't mentioned yet and we haven't seen any 'secret sauce' from AMD regarding RDNA2 yet. It sounds as if high clocks and Infinity Cache will play a role.I don't understand, I think all of that has already been confirmed on Road to PS5.
High speed from SSD to GDDR in 1: 1 ratio, thanks to Cache Coherency, Dram, OnRamChip, IO controller, Cache Scrubbers.
Hight Clock Speed are also confirmed.
I think what you mean is:
What we want to know now is that infinity cache is present to further maximize CUs, and also RT high speed as Matt said. But I think at least 2 things mentioned are already confirmed.
Yeah, I know but Infinity Cache wasn't mentioned yet and we haven't seen any 'secret sauce' from AMD regarding RDNA2 yet. It sounds as if high clocks and Infinity Cache will play a role.
From what I've gathered so far, the PS5 is an iteration of the Radeon 6000 series/Navi21/22 ( or vice versa? ). PS5, as it seems, looks to take advantage of EVERYTHING RDNA2 has to offer. ie, High Clocks, cache infinity etc.
Which makes me wonder where does that leave Microsoft? IF they dont have high clocks and/or infinity cache, where does that leave them? Will RT/developing be an issue for them? Would the PS5 really have all this proprietary tech? It does fit the theme
Cerny already stated at the 'Road to PS5' event. It will be at or close to those speeds. If I remember right... he also said, it could even go higher ( clock speed ) but it would then throttle the CPU.The biggest question that people have about the clocks is whether it's the peak clocks or the game clocks. I really hope the PS5s can hold it's 2.23 GHz clocks the vast majority of the time otherwise it would be a tad disappointing if the average clock is something like 1.8 GHz.
I'm really hoping AMDs event answers this question.
Looks like MS marketing is as classy as ever. #
Maybe they should try showing some games...
2.23 GHz is the max for the GPU. The downclocking is based on workload to remain within the power budget. Smartshift allows the PS5's unused CPU to be shifted to the GPU. Otherwise you are correct, the expectation is the GPU stays at or very close to the maxCerny already stated at the 'Road to PS5' event. It will be at or close to those speeds. If I remember right... he also said, it could even go higher ( clock speed ) but it would then throttle the CPU.
