I am not saying it’s not sold. All company acquisitions come with a shit load of clauses to secure their investment. You don’t just transfer 4.5M via PayPal and Cerium gives you authority like some shady eBay seller. Otherwise peoples could sabotage the company after selling before the transition.

You buy a house, go to make the money transfer at the notary, but the date you take possession is in 7 days because the other party has things to move still. 6 days and 23h59m later the house burns. You really think you lost everything? Cmon.

If I were a mod over there right now, I would quit immediately. Banning peoples during this period could be seen badly and akin to a disgruntled employee deleting important files during an acquisition, which could be considered a loss of revenue. There’s precedent here where lawyers went after these persons. Who the fuck knows how these new owners run things.

but anyway I wouldn’t know I never set up a gaming forum that was run by volunteers and made off with 4.5 million. Wish I had thought of that though. Oh well.

Yeah, I mean, I voted for Trump, because I don't like nipple pinching dementia puppets, but my political alignment (that I test every year) is Liberal. I'm bi, I love all orientations and races, religions and creeds, with the caveat of those people not being dumbasses.

One thing that doesn't add up to me is the original admin team who didn't get a share. Like why the fuck didn't a single one of them say some shit on the way out of leaving Era. Something like guys I'm leaving Era, I'm not happy about the way it's run and concerned about the ownership. Not a single one said that no wonder no one had a clue about ownership. Maybe there was more to it such as Cerium paying the guys a fee to keep quiet who fucking knows but I find it odd no one talked about ownership especially the original admins. You would think that would be a big deal after all they all made the site due to the owner of NeoGAF.

I don't really care what they think it is here or anywhere outside their little haven but o can guarantee you it's way better here. I've been through too many years and from the Videogames.com transition into Gamespot forums and migrating/lurking GAF since 2004.

Here we are full circle and this place needs to be the way it is. And it's because of the users and good leadership.

At least that's my point of view. I don't post on 20 forums. It's just been basically one at a time as I have less time to devote to everything these days as a grown ass man dog (cue Cedric The Entertainer voice).

I miss the era thread so much. It always made my shitty days better. I know you shouldn't laugh at others misfortune, but these lot with their performative virtue deserve every laugh sent their way. It's why this thread has been such brilliant thing.

Was also my favorite GAF thread. This thread kind of feels like getting the boys back together for a reunion show. WeekendGAF entertainment as it's most chill and flavorful.

This thread brings me back to the days after 9/11 when the country put aside its differences for a moment and unified against a common enemy.

In this case we're not so much combating ReeeEra nor labeling them an enemy in a sense but God damn we are collectively having one giant ass laugh at their expense and it's glorious watching them squirm out of control as all power slips through their fragile virgin fingers.
