I've been around for a long while now. I've moderated my fair share of sites, most of which larger than Era (including the official Steam forums for a time). The moderators are doing a good enough job of driving people away even if the new owners don't fuck things up down the road (they will).

Now watch me catch a ban there because I dared to login to my still existing account here for the first time literally four years.

Given the entire site is on edge trying to save content as people leave, if you really want to leave while deleting your content, you should first delete whatever you want. I feel like some of you are overestimating how some of the over dramatic "eat the rich" types leaving Restera are going to cut into the half mil in easy profits the forum is generating for the new buyers. Especially since a media network can create more lucrative advertising deals so they can become more profitable with the same or less traffic.

I'm not too familiar with the MOBA company that bought them out, but my take it on it is that if they try to undo the "community" ResetEra has in favor of something more mainstream, they may not succeed in bringing in new people because either the site's current reputation is too ingrained, or because people would rather go to a forum like NeoGAF than something corporate-owned. I'm not really all that certain how they can make it "grow" again unless they're willing to do an ad campaign the likes of which they themselves want companies to buy space for on the site.

Yes and he still gets the last million at the end of December as a safeguard for M.O.B.A so the smart thing to do would be to promise the mods and admins (or even just some key figures in the team) a payday to hold the fort until then and set up an NDA so they don't blurt it out before. Will be interesting to see how Era is doing in January after the deal is finalized, the mods are definitely acting suspiciously unconcerned atm.

Dunno i only know MMO-Champion from their portfolio and looking around there it's still the same cesspit it always was so i don't really think so they probably just ramp up ads, premium memberships and so on, maybe some behind the scenes changes.
