Genuine question. This will sound rhetorical, but I’m asking it sincerely:

Does Era as a site ever say or do anything supportive to the minority groups they claim to care about? Or is it predominantly users attacking groups they perceive as high-privilege and rationalizing that as somehow being helpful to minorities? I think I know the answer but I seriously want to know if I’m just missing something.

I think that a true honest answer should come from someone unbiased that was involved with the community. Unfortunately, I think that there's no such thing here, especially on this thread. We are here just for the meltdowns.

Seriously now, the way I see, they managed to create a safe space to minorities, but that pretty much guaranteed those minorities the right of do and say whatever they want for the sake of historical reparation. And everyone who is offended or doesn't agree with the hostility of the environment is an offender.

I was a good member of the community, and they actually banned me on that very thread purely because of what I said about Cerium and Era being sold. I said it's hypocrital that theres some members on there saying "4 million is really not that much, it's middle class America money" and the same people preach "eat the poor" on another thread.

Shocking they banned me for me stating that some admins that are agreeing with that middle America=$4 million money are in some threads crucifying people that are rich.

So yeah, I'm a bit pissed I'm banned there now, but at the same time, I believe they are merely a talking shop about minorities, and even more so for people of color minorities vs other minorities.

In that same thread it was also highlighted another member that was a lawyer offered to set Era up when it started, had money on the table and was willing to draw up legal documents to legally use income from the site to help the needy, minority groups etc in 2017.. and he says Cerium shot that notion down and blocked him from helping start up Era.

So make no mistake.. we may have all found out now, but every single person that logged into that site, that was a member, was all lied to about why it was started. We were all played.. like a fiddle. All the talking, all the "caring", it all boils down to them wanting more members, more income, more numbers all so it could sell. The foundations were built on false intentions.

Been trying to get caught up on things since yesterday. This thread grew by several pages. The Era thread grew by several pages. Other sites where I've been trying to keep tabs on this hilarity have also grown by several pages. It's a lot!

I see some mods, K Jack in particular, really doubling (tripling? quadrupling? quintupling?) down on their stupidity. Good on breakfuss for their responses there. I'm legit surprised that they aren't banned yet for also not putting up with that bullshit.

I wonder what tonight will bring to try to distract from the elephants in the room. More tags?



I'm not really familiar with the admin stuff of XF forum software, but I know that vBulletin will just keep the counter going up with every new registration unless you intentionally rebulid forum statistics. This means that even deleted/purged users also inflate that number constantly. Of course, maybe they do update those counters, but I'm not going to hold my breath. It's not something that site owners (including myself) often do unless absolutely necessary.

What other sites have threads about this?

The last time I checked the era bot that scraped the bans was over 20k so I’m willing to bet they have banned at least half their userbase at some point and the active userbase stayed level or was dropping so that means that it’s the same people arguing on each thread

These are the very people that jump on celebrities when they make mistakes, no forgiveness, no comebacks... I mean their very nature promotes backstabbing and doesn't promote 'community' or 'loyality'

Not to mention, Resetera was created from a mass exodus of neogaf...so... They've done this before..

The vast majority of their users believed the site was operating at a deficit with a negative valuation. The other half believed it was owned by a committee who was controlled by some kind of oversight board. The wool being pulled over their eyes is the real issue, the eat the rich rhetoric just makes them feel less stupid.
