Next Round of DS Software - What do you want to see?

The DS is showing some nice character modeling lately and showing it can keep 64 visuals at a smooth framerate.
With that in mind, I think Nintendo NEEDS to show Smash Bros. DS.
The models will look nice and the visual will be sharp rather than blurry like they were on the 64. With wireless multiplayer it could prove to be the biggest DS title ever.
After Mario Kart, I say wait a few months then release these.

I don't care if it uses touch screen or not. Really, I don't. Maybe Use the top screen for one level and botton for one. Multi-tier fighting.

Other titles that need to be shown.
-3D Zelda with sword control.
-Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga sequel from Treasure

3d zelda wind waker style (as close as they can get w/ hardware), second screen for old school overhead view and/or underground areas like in Four Swords. Additional, inventive use of touch screen / microphone. I want to be able to shout at bosses or play a bowed instrument with the stylus or something. I want a venue in the game, like Tingle Tower from Four Swords adventures, which is exclusively for cool minigames and puzzlers.

Actually ^ it doesn't have to be 3d. 2D Zelda games deserve to continue somewhere! Hi-Res 2d Zelda would be sweet actually!

New franchises from whoever (doesn't have to be Nintendo)

More stuff from SEGA that looks as swish as Feel the Magic

Something that uses 802.11 to access the internet. Even if its only like Nanostray, which is reported to use internet ranking.

Interesting non-game software.

Point and click adventures.

There are still some cool looking titles currently "Under Construction"

What there are like 125 confirmed games in development or something close to that number - I'd say there are atleast 20 - 30 great titles lurking in there.

Another - Looks interesting. Has a really nice style, and for a Nintendo game, looks very non-Nintendo - Which is refreshing.

Monkey Ball DS - Come on SEGA announce it already!!

For some reason I can't picture myself sitting down to play a home console type game on the DS. If they are going to make those kind of games for the handheld - I hope they take a leaf out of Mario 64DS by not simply porting, but making the game more DS specific, without however just adding features for the heck of it.

No doubt Resi type games would be cool to have on a handheld - But I really don't think they would be able to re-create the Resi-vibe on a handheld.

Games like PN03, could easily be played on the DS. Simplistic gameplay, with stylish low detail graphics - Vanessa could become an IP to be reckoned with on DS - if they were able to add whatever it was that was missing from the NGC version.

No One Lives Forever is the best first person shooter created.

I definitely wouldn't mind some rts's. The DS would be perfect for that.
Or how's about something completely different? (in the vein of feel the magic)

After playing Metroid Prime Hunters, I think the system is well suited for FPS titles.

I'd like to see more stuff in that vein.

More strategy/RPG stuff as well. And of course I'd like a new 2D or 3D Mario.

Don't forget about Jump Super Stars. I don't think we'll see a Smash Brothers game until Nintendo wraps up JSS. But I'm really looking forward to that.

Pikmin DS is something I'm surprised doesn't get more mention.

What I'm starting to feel with the DS is when you really get that "oh man, this is pretty cool" sensation is when the touchscreen/stylus control becomes really fast and forces you to respond quickly (like that Mario trampoline mini-game).

A touchscreen in a game like Pikmin could really speed up the gameplay.

A game that allows for play over the Internet. Dear God, do you know the implications of AC going online? And I fucking hate that game.

Or full-out bribe Blizzard to make Starcraft Online for the DS.

Starcraft.

I mentioned this when I first heard of the DS.

This would be THE killer app.

True.

But Blizzard isn't going to do a brand new Starcraft game on DS which means Nintendo would probably hand this off to NST and they would create a pinball game with the license.

A version of Starcraft on the DS would be tricky - there's a lot going on with the one screen, and cramming all the touch functions into one of them would mean direct ports would be nigh impossible. Still, they *did* create a version of Starcraft for the N64 - it's not like the developer would have to start from scratch.

The DS really should be used to create alternative types of RTS games - not just porting over older games. What works on a PC with a monitor and keyboard/mouse or a console with a controller and television won't always work when using two screens and a touchscreen.

I guess that would cover all other PC and console games, though :P

Who made StarCraft 64 for the N64?
According to IGN, some company named Mass Media - the worked on various Namco museum titles and trash like Shrek Super Party and Muppets Party Cruise. But they did the GBA translations for Rock 'n' Roll Racing, Blackthorne and The Lost Vikings, so they've still got 'ins' with Blizzard, I guess.

:lol

I would just like to see some new ideas. There certainly more that can be done than just sequels and ports. I hope Animal Crossing DS takes full advantage of all the things the DS can do. It certainly seems suited for the hardware.

Sin and Punishment would be a good start.

Ditto...

Also, I think DS can handle Radiant Silvergun quite well... I would love to see a sequel to that. Plus, more RPGs!!

atlus already announced Snowboard Kids for the DS (unknown if its a port or new game)

something that uses the touchscreen originally and well, in a non-minigame context. yoshi's touch and go might be it. might.

or Kirby's Magic Paintbrush.

Diablo DS or having ports of GoldenEye and Animal Crossing Wi-Fi enabled. None of this 100 ft. wireless bullshit, I'm talking online.

1.) Internet = just add any forums like GAF, IGN, ....etc to catch up with the latest news and games. Doesn't have to be full blown internet software. I doubt if it work base on the tiny screen!

2.) More FSA or FPS plus more killer apps.

3.) Above all.... definitely more ZELDA!!!!! 2d and 3d
