What launcher are you guys using with the N5?
Default. I like transparent status bar and nav bar.

Possible to just use the bumper and not the ugly back?

Stock launcher for now, and perhaps permanently.
I really love the look of KitKat. And this coming from someone who switched to Nova Launcher about a week after getting my Nexus 4 last year.
I really doubt that. N7 is only possible cause it's LTE only and Verizon has to be open about LTE. Throw CDMA into the mix and making a new model with Verizon bands, and yeah... very doubtful.
Wish my T-Mobile SIM would get here already so I can start the number porting process.
Probably will be out of a phone for a day.
For all of its clunky oldness, this is a big reason why I love Google Voice so much.
You never have to worry about porting your number when you switch carriers. It's awesome.
Can you make calls on normal network though? Data coverage feels to spotty on me to rely on that as my only method of receiving calls.
What is that?
Edit: Found it Bah, doesn't show up in the Canadian store.
Oh, so the other launchers will have to update their code to support that?
Damn...I wish I could reduce the size of the app icons just a little bit on the default launcher
Yeah, that's how its voice calls function. It's not VOIP; it's a relay service.
That said, VOIP is being implemented as GV transitions into Hangouts. (The iOS Hangouts app can already make VOIP calls, much to our collective annoyance.)
Just to be sure, is it normal for the phone to have already 1 GB of RAM in usage, right?
RAM not being used is RAM being wasted. My N4 is currently using 0.75GB of RAM if that helps.
got mine today. excite!
does the mobile data turn off while on Wi-Fi?
Ok, my N5 is 99% ready to support me as my daily driver.
There's only one problem, as Power Toggles doesn't seem to be working problem.
And this is beyond annoying.
Yes.
Standby battery life is good.
About 45 minutes of on screen time.
that's weird. on my HTC one it would clearly show that it was off at home or work, but the nexus 5 cell standby is chewing through the battery. did I miss an option somewhere?
sorry to bother. haven't spent much time with it.
Settings - Wifi - Advanced -
Ensure 'Keep wifi on during sleep' is ticked.
Decent battery life you guys are posting. Does no one use JuiceDefender or am I just super old school? I mostly just hate wakelocks and having the connection running constantly.
Then again I also undervolt/underclock and go crazy with governors. I might be a tad insane.
People freak out over the most random things.Just to be sure, is it normal for the phone to have already 1 GB of RAM in usage, right?
you just have to disable google sync in the settings then clear data in the app settings. Is there anyway to get the gallery app to not show picasa stuff or pics I shared in hangout convos. or whatever that is. I just want it to show downloaded pics and pics I take from the camera. Sucks that the gallery app has improved so little.
I'm sitting at 1hr and 35minutes screen on time using LTE-only, with 8 hours and 19 min uptime and 73% battery remaining.
This utterly destroys the Nexus 4's battery life.
 Snapdragon 800.

Is the album art in spotify not showing up for anyone else?
Have you had any problems taking pictures like some of the reviews have suggested? i.e. sluggish software, slow autofocus, anything like that? This camera is so much better than the one on the gnex.
Just got my Spigen Ultra Hybrid case from amazon for $5.
Beautiful case, It does not make the phone wider by that much. The back while it looks good, I suspect won't last long as I am sure the clear plastic will scratch up. The free screen protector is a perfect fit and has almost no drag on my finger.
A Fiver well spent!
