I still don't get why we never got her to play as a backup on our offensive line.

Might be something in Ben's contract that no woman are allowed on the field with him.

What's the opposite of this, walking past cancer patients?

rodgers-o.gif

It's a shame this gif stops before Rodgers turns around and viciously punches that lady right in her cancer so hard that it cures her. Then it kills her. Only Tebow has the power to cure correctly, silly Rodgers.

There's a lot of things going on, but it's easy to just blame Raheem and Greggers so that's what I do.
This season has shit all over my hopes, like Alyssa in an FMT scat fantasy.
I've been through a lot of these kinds of seasons, it never stops hurting.
I'm sick of saying "Oh well, maybe next year."
Yep I understand. My hockey team has had past success but can't get their shit together.
Mostly due to a literally retarded GM.

Just was curious. I like to think I know stuff about the NFL so was looking for inside info on the root cause of it all if there was a singular one.

It is pretty obvious that Aaron Rodgers is the real life version of Johnny Lawrence.

Apparently JPP needs only 9 more tackles to set the record for most tackles by a DL player in a single season.
Longshot Osi plays too so that's a possibility.

I think it's fairly obvious by now that Osi has played his last snap as a Giant. Recent reports are that he is "weeks" out from returning from the ankle injury.

Good. I don't ever like to see guys injured but his return means reduced playing time for the best player on the defense. I wish him the best of luck with whatever team he ends up on and I hope Reese gets as much as possible from a trade.

Also forgot to mention about the game against the Jets - thank Tebow that we got to see the real Justin Tuck again this season. Granted it was against Wayne Hunter who it hot garbage but he just looked more like himself than at any time this season. I hope that carries over to the Dallas game. Having a healthy Tuck and JPP on the line? GOOD SHIT.

I like Larry. That is why it will be so fun to give him shit if the Ravens blow it once again this year.

So are you saying that FMT doesn't deserve an autograph or even an acknowledgment that he exists as a human being?

FMTs are people too dammit!

He did give her an autograph, several of them, there was even a full story about how he spent time with her times before that was captured. Once you see someone standing there every single time you arive back, you stop going to them. Why would he keep signing and signing merchandise for her?

SHE HAS CANCER. NO ONE ELSE HAS EVER HAD CANCER!!!!

In all seriousness....it's a shitty situation, but really, it's not that big of a deal when you read the whole story between them. Wish he gave her a nod or "next time", but he didn't.
I can't exactly act like I would be all buddy buddy week after week seeing her.

We are still talking about this?

Why doesn't Rodgers look her in the eye and be a decent human being and say 'sorry I am a little busy right now running to film some stupid commercial for an insurance company, I will try to get you the next time'? Instead he blows her off and turns away and doesn't even acknowledge her. And we don't even figure in when he suckers punches her like a villain from an 80s movie.

Like I said before, maybe Ben didn't ask his victims if he could touch them with his penis, but at least he looked them in the face!

If it wasn't for Tom Brady Rodgers would be the biggest qb douche in the league.

After a personal foul penalty on Monday night led to a high-profile media tiff, the NFL has stepped in to attempt to clarify what, exactly, the term “defenseless player” means.

The personal foul was called on Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton, and it left ESPN commentator Jon Gruden harshly criticizing the officiating crew, asking what Lofton was supposed to do to play defense while avoiding contact with a defenseless receiver. Gruden’s criticism had former NFL head of officiating and current FOX analyst Mike Pereira steamed.

“Nobody likes the rule but that was helmet to helmet contact and the NFL wants that called regardless of what Gruden says,” Pereira wrote in a series of Twitter messages ripping Gruden. “People ask me what was he supposed to do. He was supposed to hit him with his shoulder in the chest area or below. Most are doing that. He announced hitting a defenseless player. He was defenseless and u can hit him in the head or neck area with your helmet, shoulder, forearm.”

Today the NFL’s communications department attempted to clear things up, with e-mails to the media and Twitter messages pointing to the exact wording of the rules regarding defenseless players.

The relevant portion of the rule is:

“It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.
(a) Players in a defenseless posture are: [. . .]
(2) A receiver attempting to catch a pass; or who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner. If the receiver/runner is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player;
[. . .]
(b) Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:
(1) Forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him; and
(2) Lowering the head and making forcible contact with the top/crown or forehead/”hairline” parts of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player’s body.”

Hits on defenseless players have become like Rorschach tests: The way observers react to them tells you more about the observers than it does about the hits. But if we’re going to react to the hits at all, we should at least know what the rules say. It’s smart for the NFL to continue to make the rules widely available, even though we all know this wasn’t the last time two observers of the same hit will sharply disagree about whether it should have been a penalty.

Apparently JPP needs only 9 more tackles to set the record for most tackles by a DL player in a single season.

9 solo tackles for a Dlinemen is quite difficult to get in a single game, hell it's difficult for anyone not named Patrick Willis to achieve.

He has done it once this season, he got 11 against Washington.

edit: I don't know what the heck chanhuk did to the quoting system

(2) Lowering the head and making forcible contact with the top/crown or forehead/”hairline” parts of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player’s body.”

This is exactly what happened to our Kelley on the next drive.
If they want to call all this stuff fine, but at least be consistent about it.

I probably don't remember this correctly, but weren't the Giants fans on this board kind of irked with drafting JPP? I can understand why they were, because you had more pressing needs at the time and JPP was really just a raw player who has freakish athletic ability. It worked out in the end, though, right?

Is it possible to rename the NFC East the Tebow Division, in that we all know they suck, yet ESPN hypes them up like they are actually relevant?

Ratings equal relevancy. Every year a game involving the Eagles, Giants, or Cowboys is either the highest rated that year and sometimes even highest rated "ever".

What are you a fan of? Why so jelly?

I agree with that. But honestly that is just because I want to see Larry cry.

I like Larry. That is why it will be so fun to give him shit if the Ravens blow it once again this year.

I was fully excited and optimistic about the playoffs this year until I saw the SD game and remembered who our quarterback was. We blow it again, there will be tears. If we play the Steelers in the playoffs and blow it, I don't what will happen, but I'll definitely be taking some time off of work.

Only problem I have with Larry is that there's only one of him. Murderers-Age is pretty thin outside of him.

Pretty thin? For a team that is about to go 12-4, clinch a 2 seed in the playoffs, and have been a top 8 team in the NFL for the last several years, we have NO presence here. Aside from one dude who loves Joe Flacco (CrimsonFlame I think), which automatically disqualifies him from Murderers-GAF because no real Ravens' fan likes Joe Flacco, and an occasional Nakazato post, I'm it. There has to be more of us out there. I mean, shit, I don't even live in Baltimore, anymore. Wish I did though
Damn, we had some good heroin

With all that Larry has been through this season?

Typical Steelers fan...

Dude, if you only knew what the situation has become....just pure insanity. Ravens will deliver me some pure joy this postseason, and I will revel in it.

EDIT: Multiquote....pretty great!

Not really because their defense sucks some serious ass and they have holes everywhere on their team.

While it is nice to have that kind of depth and talent on the Dline there you can just win with those 4 guys up front. You still need LBs and a secondary.

Wellington said he wanted Pouncey or ...Iupati I think?

To be fair, aside from the injuries Pouncey is pretty awesome.

Yup. I was the most vocal about it, and I will happily eat crow.

Consider 2 picks later was Mike Iupati and the pick after that was pro bowl center Maurkice Pouncey - it's hard not to be mad. Those guys were surefire picks whereas we drafted potential. The Giants are still in dire need of help on the OL, especially in the interior. Our backs are pretty good, but we have the 32nd ranked rushing attack in the league, averaging a league worst 3.5 YPC.

Larry you already gave the Ravens the win against the Bungles ON THE ROAD where the Ravens are not very good?

That is looking too far ahead. Hell with our qb situation I am not even sure we will beat the Browns.

But damn it would be so sweet if the Steelers won and the Ravens and Pats lost. I would feel as good as that old lady would if Aaron Rodgers took the time out of his busy schedule to acknowledge her existence (stomach punches don't count).

Aren't the Texans locked into the 3rd seed? They have nothing to play for against Titans.

Titans win will give them a shot at playoff so they will take advantage of any goodwill Texans give.

Ravens are still playing for a first round bye so Bengals loss is guaranteed. I shake my head at Titans losing to Colts and putting themselves in an even crappier position.

M.O.B.- I'M feeling TExans/Titans 2 weeks in a row

Great OP!!!!

I'm here. And I still don't appreciate your blasphemous comments about Ray. Mike Mccrary and Peter Boulware are ashamed.

Great OL draft, I think so anyway. Great timing too, you get JPP to bust out just as Osi's out the door, can go into the draft and not worry about DE, just focus on OL.

Pass rushers in this draft look like dice rolls, maybe Bruce Irvin lights up the senior bowl, but he played DE in a 335 stack so evaluating him Is tough.

Perfect time for the Giants to stock up, DeCastro is better than the Pounceys.. If I had a top 5 pick I'd take him, dude is a lock All-Pro for years.

And of course no one cares so it's ok.

Watching that game, all i could see was Dunta being the worst CB in the fucking galaxy. It was so embarrassing to see on national television. I really really despise the man.

LJ, how is the first round looking for Linebackers? We're oddly thin at the position (apparently Sylvester is only a special teams standout and isn't being groomed for the buck position). Once Farrior goes we'll only have Foote for Mike who's..not great.

To me the biggest problem was getting manhandled on the line. The Saints dominated both line of scrimmages. Very bad things usually follow.

I'm not giving us anything, not with Joe "Wildcard" Flacco at the helm. I hate him so much.

Also, I will now refer to Ravens-GAF as Murderers-GAF, which Deacon put out there. Sounds bad ass.

Hey, the Falcons are better than your team has been and we have to say that every year, too. Like I tell my old lady, "You may walk out, but you can't walk away".
So own up to your obsessive infatuation with the Bucs, embrace it, and think, "What if I lived in Orlando? Who would I root for?"
At least we don't have to worry about repeating a championship.

Only reason the Falcons are going to the playoffs is because the Bears are losing nearly every starter down the stretch of the season. Wonder how Atlanta fans would feel if their team didn't get an easy street pass to a wild card slot.

Can't wait for the Falcons slighted, now motivated defense to go back to NO and give up another 35+ to the Saints!

Not sure anyone but Upshaw fits the scheme, the rest are pretty small. Like Kuechly but he may be on the small side. Some feel Upshaw is a better 3-4 ILB prospect than a 3-4 OLB, he can't run and cover though, 2 down backer if so.

Best fit would be Hightower, but he's not the player he was before the knee injury. Guy looked so explosive, he's gained size though. More of a second round pick I think.

Brown looks good at times, sloppy tackler, but he's small for a 3-4 ILB, only 220 or so, he can run though.

Haven't watched much of Burfict, did watch the bowl game but he was benched for the first quarter. When he did get reps he dogged it, wasn't even trying to shed, Martin made him look like a fool in the redone. Guy was riding the pine for most of the night, he was in the dog house.

I think it's a pretty weak class, but the Steelers never miss in the first. I'm no expert either, just observations, and some sample sizes are bigger than others, I've seen Upshaw and Hightower a lot.

All I know is that I can't hate too much because last year we got in and ultimately won the Super Bowl because of Desean Jackson!
