Gary Kubiak is expected to be back with the Houston Texans next week after suffering a mini-stroke, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning."
One reason for Kubiak rushing back, as Rapoport pointed out, is his job is not necessarily safe for 2014.
Given the Texans' Super Bowl expectations coming into the season, their 2-6 record -- and the 4-10 record over the last 14 games -- it's not a surprise to see Kubiak on the hot seat.
The interesting part of Rapoport's report is that he said the Texans' front office is "a bit frustrated" with Kubiak and the rest of his coaching staff.
The frustration stems from coaches having too much draft input and keeping stars on the field too long. Rapoport elaborated on the last point, saying that the front office believes the lack of a defensive-line rotation leads to wearing down late in games.
