There are blown calls all the time in this league. A blown call does not forgive the stunning ability to give up a 70 yard hail mary. You don't get to complain when you D gives up a hope and a prayer pass. Sorry lions fans.

Lions can complain about the refs screwing them in the Seahawks game. Not this one.
The Packers were down by 20? I missed the game until the last few minutes. Didn't realize it was that bad.
It was a weak penalty, but you can see why the Head Ref called it from his position (Behind Rodgers). He saw the head jerk to one side and thought facemask. Now he did get a very tiny piece of the facemask, but it was just enough.
The Defense shouldn't have let that happen though. You had 2-3 Packers players in front of them and were able to box out the Lions defenders. It was pretty ridiculous.

Ngata also loafed as Rodgers scrambled. There's way too much fuckery on tape for Caldwell to keep his job. Attention to detail is poor. Situational football is bad. Dumb penalties. Dumb timeouts

It's unbelievable that the packers have nearly the same number of players in the the frame as the lions... Horrible execution by Detroit.

Putting your hands near the facemask is legal.
You can say that call falls within the reasonable range of human error but doesn't change the fact that it was an incorrect call.
If every play was reviewable then there wouldn't be an issue.

I'm sure this will get lost in the hail mary excitement, but why the hell did the clock not stop when Richard Rodgers ran out of bounds with the football after a catch with about 4:00 left in the game? It seemed like quite a few seconds ran off the clock...
3 were at the line of scrimmage. 2 unaccounted for.

Going out of bounds only stops the clock if you are moving forward.
