Only reason why I'm drinking is because I'm on vacation in Mexico, and today is my niece's quinceañera so it's been tequila all evening.

The U.S. men’s national soccer team will play in Atlanta for the first time since 1977.

The U.S. demolished Cuba 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the Gold Cup on Saturday to advance to the tournament semifinals at the Georgia Dome on Wednesday. Game times are 6 and 9 p.m. The U.S. will play Jamaica, which defeated Haiti 1-0 in Saturday’s other semifinal.

More than 51,000 tickets have been sold for the semifinals, putting it on pace to break a sales record for soccer in Atlanta. The previous record of 68,212 was set last year when Mexico played Nigeria at the Dome.

Fear of a GAF Planet
Just woke up from a nap, have EVO on the TV and firing up DOTA.

Also about to do my best Russell Wilson impression and drink some Hazelnut Brown Nectar tonight.

Drinking one of these, now. Very good. Still not dethroning Sam Smith's, but I'll put it in second place in the brown category.

Are we supposed to be impressed or disappointed that they can't sell out the stadium?

But then again, I guess having a few empty seats is nothing new for the Georgia Dome.

Just pipe in some crowd noise so it'll sound like a full house.

Those figures are really good for soccer though. It would place them in the Top 10 highest attended soccer matches in the U.S. this year at least. Atlanta has always done well when it comes to attendance for the international friendlies over the past few years here, so I'm sure that played a big part in having the Gold Cup come to Atlanta.

And the Georgia Dome hasn't had attendance issues for a long time now :)

Favre was incredible until injuries took a bit of his fastball away. Just ridiculous what throws he could get away with through 2001 or so.*
