I'm glad I got unbanned in time for the super bowl. I've been waiting 15 years for the Broncos to go back to the super bowl and I would hate to miss the celebration with my fellow gaffers.

Who are you? New lurker?

How did your exams go?

Just some dude who's been a Seahawks fan ever since my brother's friend spent a few months in Seattle last October.

Beast Mode! 12th man! Flying Fish!

Exams haven't started yet. Maths on Tuesday :-/

Have you become a genius since you stopped coming here?

I almost always got good grades in science and math no matter how much I fucked around. You actually don't have to spend that much time studying.

Depends how far you get. Can't fuck around when you're in physical chemistry and quantum mechanics!!

I am not going to front.

I don't understand quantum mechanics. It all sounds like magic to me.

It makes me a little sympathetic to Gata for a few seconds because I realize that is what he feels like when someone asks him to add some fractions together or do some long division. But then I come to my senses and remember that he deserves all that he gets and more.

Dude you think Prototype is better than Infamous????!!!! I've been trying to turn over a new leaf but what the ffffffffffffff

I tried playing Prototype 2. That game is completely nonsensical. It's a wonder Activision published it.

I just played that for the first time earlier this month. It's the game Saints Row 4 wanted to be. Pretty fun game.

It's basically the consequences of the idea that even matter has wave characteristics. Sure, there's a ton more to it than that, but Einstein's relativity was basically the consequences of "the laws of physics are the same in all non-accelerating frames of reference" and "there is no perceptible difference between being in gravity and being in an accelerating reference frame". Simple statements, but with far-reaching effects.

As for not studying, yeah, even if you're naturally good at picking this stuff up there comes a point when you need to work at it or it'll kick your ass. Right now I gotta go over the derivations of certain statistical distributions and it's something I've never really had to get my hands dirty with much before. Lots of summation math and even some calculus!

This is why I became a chef marketer journalist. None of those things require math or the vague understanding of any of the principles behind it.

I listened to a podcast from a famous quantum theorist and honestly it sounds like magic.

I was with him when he was explaining how two particles could both be at the same place at the same time but once he started explaining shit about our thoughts and God and other shit I was lost.

Nah, still dumb as shit :-(
When I was in school there was a very successful studying method for dumb people that got them the same results as smart people.

It was called cheating. Doesn't really work on a math final but it got a lot of people through shit majors like sociology and the like!

Ehhh, if it's Michio Kaku he tends to wander off into the deep end on occasion. Not fond of him, honestly. A lot of that stuff is easy to get mystical about but such effects on the macroscopic level are rather limited.

Listening to the Bill Simmons podcast after 5 years, he finally won me over. Opened an online account and putting my mortgage on Seattle.*

I don't know why it feels like I'm on the Dark Side, but it does. And it feels great!

* = not really, just part of it.

There are a lot of higher level chem/physics concepts which I think are really interesting and have read books about the theories, but man when I was in class doing the calculations, that shit is hard. Particularly the fact that to work at that level you have to incorporate a lot of high-level techniques.

Man I'm glad I'm done with that stuff!! #blessed

Kaku can get weird when you get deep but I think for explaining simple concepts he's pretty good.

It was Amit Goswami. It was from Joe Rogans podcast and his credentials seemed pretty legit and it sounded like magic.

Imagine what a house with indoor plumbing sounds like to Gata. Thats what this shit sounded like to me.

I hope you are joking about betting on Bill Simmons advice.

You would be a very poor man if you followed his betting advice...

I love QM so much. Originally when I went to grad school it was to become an astrophysicist, but after taking graduate QM, I decided to switch to theoretical physics.

Damn YH you're in theoretical physics, that's so awesome!! My bro is doing astrophysics, I ain't smart enough to do that!!

Hah, yeah. He's the worst. I just mean finally breaking down and betting on this shit, which I've never done.

Really it was that Lynch interview last night on ESPN that won me over to the Seahawks side.

I didn't see the interview did they ask him about when he was drunk driving and hit a pedestrian then fled the scene? Serious question!

Marshawn definitely comes off as a likeable fellow!
