The Farve love is annoying, but the Brady love is plain wrong. Tom Brady is just plain evil.

Steelers are crazy banged up. Hopefully we get Staley back to make up for the loss of Burress.

Ravens are fucked as well without their running back. Boller is going have to sink or swim quickly against the Pats.

Argh, the Colts playing on Thanksgiving at noon is really gonna piss me off unless the Colts jump out in front by 30 like the last couple games.

Have they said anything more about Burress' hammy? Last I heard, Burress claimed he was fine, but Cowher said he will likely sit a game or two.

I think they're just sitting Plax because they don't really need him this week. It's the Redskins, the Steelers SHOULDN'T have a problem. And I capitalize and underscore and italicize SHOULDN'T, and put a little asterisk next to it... They're going to save him for when he's needed.

Nah, nothing new on that. It would be smart to bring him along slowly and give him that week of rest, we can afford no Burress against the Redskins if we have Staley. Randel El is a pretty damn good reciever himself, not a huge target but he can make people miss.

I heard the Steelers were on Letterman tonight, I need to find a torrent of this. :(

Last Week: 14 - 2 :D

Season: 93 - 51

after 4 straight weeks of thinking "wow this couldn't POSSIBLY get any worse!", it did when we got stomped by the bucs. now NORMALLY i'd say we have a pretty good shot to beat miami. but miami probably should have beaten a seattle team that beat us in seattle 34-0. so guess what? unless our secondary stops playing like a bunch of bitches or unless rattay puts up 400 yards (he wont against miamis D), then we aren't going to win this game. whats more important dolphins, a meaningless win or the #1 pick in the draft? we already took out the bears and panthers from the #1 draft pick running, YOU'RE NEXT DOLPHINS!*

*p.s. we will trade away the #1 pick for the rights to ryan leaf and a 1994 autographed rodney hampton new york giants jersey. york will sell it on ebay for $25, win-win for the niners! we dont have to pay a #1 pick who could possibly help our team win, AND our owner gets tipping money for his valet parking attendant at the olive garden, which is where that cheap fuck is going to take his whore wife of his for their 20th wedding anniversary. the best part is he will still have money left over from that $25 to buy his cockrag of a son the neon orange and pink ankle bracelet he has been asking for since last christmas. then he'll say "someday the 49ers are going to be yours son..." and his son will say "YOU JUST DONT GET IT DAD! me owning the 49ers is YOUR dream dad! NOT MINE! YOU NEVER LISTEN!" then he will storm off and slam his bedroom door. and denise debartalo will say "oh john... i guess we'll own the team forever.... forever... for... ev....er" sandlot style.

fuck i wish they would sell the team...

Got my tickets yesterday! That's right -- Thanksgiving Day football in person! And, I get to watch my beloved Chicago Bears humiliate the Cowgirls for the first time since I've been in Texas. The only good thing about going to the POS Texas Stadium is:

Raven's D will have to come up huge for them to win. They are going to have be as physcial as possible and get at least one score on Defense to win. And they have to stay with the run, it is possible to run on the Pats and you have to do it to keep them honest.

Hopefully the Ravens pull it off and vault the Steelers to number one in the AFC. We are going to need that one game cushion with all the injuries and our upcoming schedule. :D

Is it just really hitting close to him this year and that's why I'm noticing (Ravens/Pitt) or is it all across the league that injuries seem to be up?

Nah, normal amount of injuries imho. I think you notice it more this year because your team is good this year. Plus Baltimore and Pittsburgh set such a physical tone for every game that you gotta expect a lot of injuries for them especially. I am worried about the injuries we will have (and cause) when we meet Baltimore again.

Archaix

Between Pittsburgh, Philly, Baltimore, Cleveland, and the Panthers, it seems as though there are much more injuries (at least to high-profile players) than usual, but I'm sure there are some lucky teams around the league without any(Indy and San Diego spring to mind, even though LT has been less effective than usual because of injury problems, he's played all the games).

Yeah, can't speak about the rest of the league. But I'm pretty sure that this is the most injury plagued Steeler team within the last 15 years or so.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04328/416104.stm

Already, the Steelers have lost 37 starts to injuries and one pregame ejection -- 18 on offense and 19 on defense -- yet they've somehow managed to run out to 9-1 record, tied for the best in the NFL. They've not only overcome injuries to their starting quarterback, halfback, guard, cornerback, linebacker and nose tackle, in some instances their substitutes played as well or better.

bionic77 said:

Oh, yeah, I believe you're right. Was just saying that since I've been a Steeler fan, this has been the most banged up I think I've ever witnessed them.

I can't remember a time where we had more injuries either, but time does strange things to your memory so I wouldn't be surprised if we had more injuries some other year either.

We can still take a positive from this. Adversity like this is sometimes a good thing for a rookie quarterback, so they know how to handle things when everything goes wrong and the team is depending on them to make a play.

those four or so years of free agency deficits for the Steelers were probably worse.

Well, my memory is certainly foggy on some of those bad late 80s teams. :lol

In the Cowher era, seems it was usually just one or two important guys going down with serious injuries, like O'Donnell, Foster, Woodson, Thigpen....or Bettis with his just in time for the playoffs injuries. Last year was the most banged up offensive line I think I've ever witnessed though.

In some instances this year, the injuries were a bit of a blessing, like with Maddox and Scott.

those four or so years of free agency deficits for the Steelers were probably worse.

Not the same thing though. In those, you have full offseasons to get or prepare guys you think can replace them.

On the bright side, nearly the whole roster should be relatively healthy come playoff time, barring further serious injuries. It's a shame Hampton is lost for the season, though.

bears had among the worst in the league IMO. while we haven't lost an abundance of players, we've lost the biggest difference makers on the team

Urlacher = top 3 or at least top 5 LB in the league
Brown = IMO in the top 3 in the league. Reed definitely number one, then Brown and a few others right behind him.
Tillman = Our best CB by far, and had a shot at making the probowl this year based on the way he was going last season.
Grossman = looked so so very good. our offense was actually decent with him and jones.

brown, tillman, and grossman all out for the year within the first 3 weeks of the year...urlacher's already missed time, and is now out 3-5 more weeks.

horrible, horrible year for bears as far as injuries go.

Nah, never really hated the Cowboys.

I just despise the Pats and Tom Brady. When the Steelers ran all over the Pats 3 weeks ago, that was maybe the the best day ever. :D

you better hope they lose again before their secondary gets healthy. I do hope it Pitt vs. Pats in the AFC championship game though.

I like a healthy Steelers team's chances against the Pats any place, any time of the year.

Bring it!

Edit: Luckily we can beat most teams with just our running game, because it is has become blatantly obvious that you can't beat the Pats by throwing the ball as they get away with rape and murder in their secondary.

I was, I'm sick that all these teams get press and the Ravens always get shitty national press... of course it doesn't help that they tend to play like shit during "spotlight" national games lately... but still dammit.

The thing I hate the most about Tom Brady is he's on possibly the most loaded team in the NFL (really, are they not stacked with pro-bowl quality talent on almost every area? maybe not for kick/punt returns but that's IT) and gets all the credit for their wins. He could throw 3/20 with 3 picks and the team winning solely because of Corey Dillon's running and it would be all about how Tom Brady led this new england team to victory.
