Pete is a saint. Reports have leaked the last few days that the NCAA violated their own policies during the USC investigation and it's confirmed that it was basically a witch hunt. Every player in this league wishes they could play for Pete!

When it comes down to it, what team really cares about players that aren't useful to them (or as useful as someone else available to them)? And if it's not the coach projecting it, it's the GM/owner/fans.

the most amusing thing of this whole QB controversy to me is the reaction of fans who aren't 49ers fans. you have people who, for years and years, said "man alex smith sucks and needs to get replaced!"
