I guess you must've missed the three turnovers on defense that absolutely destroyed the Ravens passing game. They held Jamal Lewis to minimal yardage until the fourth quarter when they were compeltely run down. Your offense can't go THREE AND OUT over and over, keeping your defense on the field, and not get tired. Really.
It's the same defense that kepts the Redskins in the game by six points against your Giants despite SEVEN TURNOVERS. SEVEN-FUCKING-TURNOVERS. And the Giants won by less than a touchdown!
Maybe you should try watching a game instead of writing Tiki Barber love letters!
[oh snap!]
... As for Gibbs, there's no excuses or savior talk. Gibbs is a Hall of Fame coach. He's proven himself and he doesn't need to prove himself again. The blame falls squarely on the shoulders of the Redskins' offensive players.
I don't even care about the playoffs, I'd just like to see the Redskins earn some respectability. They should start by benching Brunell, probably.
The Giants have a realistic shot at making the playoffs, especially if they can con two more wins out of the Cowboys and Redskins. Both are division opponents that are reeling from a poor start and lack of productive output. The Giants don't have coach or the talent to go deep, though. And they're going to have to decide when to put Eli in eventually.
Thanks for ignoring the rest of my post, full of valid points.
Let's talk about the Redskin's defense. They've played the Bucs, the Giants, the Cowboys, the Browns, and the Ravens. All of them
offensive powerhouses. In terms of offensive ranks in the league, let me put it in perspective: Bucs: 25th, Giants: 5th, Cowboys: 9th, Browns: 30th, Ravens: 29th. Assuming you watched the Giants v. Redskins game, it's clear that the Giants were in a funk that entire game (62 rushing yards, 215 passing yards). And yes, were lucky that the defense stepped up. Their high rank can be attributed to 403 yards against GB, 390 against Cleveland, and 413 against the Iggles. The Cowboys are a one dimensional team, stop the pass, you stop their offense. Bucs, Browns, Ravens? :lol Need I say more? Bucs gained 169 net offensive yards in that game. The Browns gained 280, the Ravens 232. But hey, whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Interstingly you mention that the Giants have only beaten subpar teams, yet you don't mention that the Redskins have LOST to subpar teams.
:lol @ no savior talk regarding Gibbs.
Giants don't have the talent? Realize that our defense is all young players, and we have some rookies starting. The Washington team is all experienced veterans. The talent of the young players on the Giants will be cultivated while those veterans on
your Redskins are already playing at their peak. We'll see at the end of the year who has what talent.
Why put Eli in when Warner is performing so well?
