The season is heading into full swing right about now. Some surprises, some disapointments but so far an enjoyable season from all teams. The Falcons are coming off a big win against SD and will face the Cheifs...and i'm scared. The potential for a mental breakdown is big. The Defense is still playing great, the offesne seems to be clicking especially last game, just stay healthy...we'll get DeAngelo back soon and we'll be stronger all around.

DCX, I'm kind of worried about this KC game too. We might be without 3 defensive starters, Chris Draft, Rod Coleman, and Aaron Beasley, so our pass rush might not be so great. On the bright side though, even with Coleman and Draft not playing this past week, we were still able to hold LT to 64 yards rushing, so that's gives us hope when it comes to facing Priest. Still, there's no telling how Vick and the offense is going to play. I think we need to pound the ball with Dunn and Duckett and wear down KC's defense and keep their offense off the field as long as possible.

N.Y. Jets at New England 4:05 pm *Stone Cold Lock*

LOL The Jets are in for a RUDE awakening. First good team they are facing.

I hope they don't think beating Miami, Buffalo and squeaking by SF makes them a contender. Their only good thing is being thumped reguarly by the Pats over the past few years may give them some experience of what to expect.

Chester Taylor and Musa Smith ran very well in preseason, actually they ran so much better than Jamal in preseason that I think here and locally with friends I expressed some concern about whether Jamal was "ready".

With that said hopefully Chester/Musa will be up to the challenge for these next two games.... Travis is coming back and though he's no great #1 in my mind, he's better than some of what we have.... and we just signed another wideout an ex-Raven from '01? Besides the fact that we drop to many balls we simply put are terrible at getting WR's open. I mean each time I watch other games and I see these WR's wide open(like last night), I'm like g*dd*amn can WE get some of that? <sigh> with that being said we SHOULD be able to beat the friggin Bills... but that Eagles game in 2 weeks... I don't know....

Who thinks things are gonna change for Rice as a Seahawk?

Will Norv Turner listen to the fans and bench Kerry Collins and replace him Tuiasosopo?

Who will when in the battle of the undefeated? Pats@Jets

Is the NFL going to let Ricky Williams back in the game?

I'm going to the Vikings game this weekend. I'm hoping that if Randy can't go, Tice picks me out of the stands to fill in for him. I used to tear shit up on the school playground.

The Falcons/Chiefs gave has me on edge too.

I didn't know Coleman was out. That should be ok. I hope that doesnt mean that KC can focus on Kerney more though, he is having an awesome season.
It was nice to see Vick come out of his shell a bit in the 4th last game. Very nice win.

Vick is a great athlete, but he doesn't even have the QB skills of a rookie!

Roethlisberger, only 4 games in, already has the 4th highest QB rating in the league. We finally have a QB in Pittsburgh again. :D

Patriots fans, repent before October 31st, as Big Ben is going to put your defense in a world of hurt.

I think Rice will have a positive influence on the Seattle recievers, Robinson especially. Also Seattle needs a dependable route based reciever, which they currently don't have. And their 4 WR sets suck with Bannister in there.

Then what the hell kind of skills does Patrick Ramsey have??

Vick throws some obnoxiously nice passes, he's still getting better.

There's upwards of 50 nfl QB's I'd take over Boller, but fuck, what do I know, I am not the offensive guru that is Billick.

Vick has a cannon for an arm, has good vision...he needs to be himself. He can and will be a 65%, 250+ yard passing, 60 yards rushing QB with yearly TD number around 17-22. He is young and just a freak of nature with all his talent, let him fall into his skills. Look at KG, he only now has fell into his skills and now is comfortable doing thing he wants to do. Time is all he needs...and being healthy.

I agree that Vick has all the physical tools he needs to be a really good QB, but being a QB is more mental then it is physical. There have been a lot of guys who had great arms, but never became great QBs because they wouldn't make the right decision or they took too long to throw the ball (lookin at you Bledsoe). It is still really early, but what most impresses me about Big Ben is how calm he is and how he is already making great decisions throwing the ball. These are things that most guys don't start to grasp until their 3rd year as QB.

In Vick's defense, I don't think his talents fit the West Coast system and it usually takes at least 2 years years to understand it. I think he may be a great QB, but personally I am more impressed with Big Ben (I am also very biased as a Steelers fan).

That's it, I just became an atheist.

No need to lose your faith in God, this is why God gave us Ben Roethlisberger. He is the NFL Messiah sent to deliver us from this evil Patriot Dynasty.

October 31st, it will be Destiny versus Dynasty on the hallowed grounds of Heinz field. :D

I am watching this game with a huge Pats fan, and if it looks like the Patriots are going to win, I am seriously going to just jump out of his window.

WEEK 7
Sunday, Oct. 24

Atlanta at Kansas City 1:00 pm - KC's defense showed up for the one game/season on their contract. I just feel bad for Dick Vermeil, he's a great guy who doesn't deserve to be stuck with such a horribly lopsided team.
Buffalo at Baltimore 1:00 pm - come on, they're playing the Bills. The entire starting roster for the Ravens could be suspended and they'd still win.
Chicago at Tampa Bay 1:00 pm - see above comments on Dick Vermeil but replace him with Jon Gruden. the GM has raped this team and Gruden is just doing the best he can with the scraps he's given.
Detroit at N.Y. Giants 1:00 pm - this will be a tougher game for the Giants, and I only pick them because they have more experience. the Lions could very likely win.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis 1:00 pm - Peyton can score on any defense in the league, and the Jags won't be able to pull off another last-minute miracle.
Philadelphia at Cleveland 1:00 pm - dear god, the Eagles are for real.
San Diego at Carolina 1:00 pm - the panthers aren't nearly as much of a fluke as they are a victim of most of their strong defenders getting out on free agency in the offseason. LT should rush for 500 yds against this rush d.
St. Louis at Miami 1:00 pm - I would love for the fins to win this one, only because making Mike Martz look stupid is much more satisfying than making Wanny look good. but there's this thing called "reality."
Tennessee at Minnesota 1:00 pm - Titans are going to be pissed, and McNair will want to make Daunte Culpepper look like his bitch.
N.Y. Jets at New England 4:05 pm - after the loss (which if it happens, will happen in the 4th quarter), Tom Brady will perform an R. Budd Dwyer at the postgame interview.
Dallas at Green Bay 4:15 pm - it's an up and down season for both teams. the pack honestly doesn't look like they have the stuff to go on a win streak, and Parcells is going to kick some ass this week to make sure they win this time.
New Orleans at Oakland 4:15 pm - what a horrible, horrible game. I'm just glad I won't be getting it on my doubleheader.
Seattle at Arizona 4:15 pm - Rice comes in, catches 12 passes for 180 yds and makes the NFC West competition even hotter.

Monday, Oct. 25
Denver at Cincinnati 9:00 pm - god I hate being a bengals fan. at least going 1-15 means they can maybe draft some defense and carson palmer can maybe mature more in the offseason.

Pissed about what? Being the worst team in that division? They should have been pissed last week when they were losing to a Titans team the Vikings already beat. But they couldnt get the job done last week and they sure as hell wont in the dome.

of course they're going to be pissed at their shitty record. despite that record, they still have a load of talent, while the Vikings haven't proven to me that they're any better than last year's vaunted 6-week miracle that sputtered out and died as the season continued.

I've seen this talk continue despite the Chiefs defense doing more than enough to win at least 3 games this season (including the Baltimore game). The offensive playcalling and overall game managment by Dick Vermeil and Al Saunders has been horrific this season, and they should shoulder the blame for most of the Chiefs problems. Wasted timeouts, terrible crucial situation playcalling, bad gameplans going into games, no adjustments being made after halftime, the list continues. But the only time you hear them admit to it is after the game, when its entirely too late. Monday, after Priest touched the ball 5 times in the first half at Jax, Vermeil said their plan was to run much more than they did. Good teams impose their will on the other team, just like the Chiefs did to the Ravens.

The Chiefs defense has been getting better this season while the offense has repeatedly sputtered. It's Vermeil's own fault that he has such a lopsided team, as he's the one that makes most of the personnel decisions. If he didn't want people passing all over McCleon, he should've tried harder for Antoine Winfield, Troy Vincent, or Bobby Taylor. If he didn't want to have a "situation at middle linebacker" he could've made an attempt for someone like Jeremiah Trotter.

I can't believe you bitches are picking the Chargers over the Panthers (though it'll probably end up being a close game). Shows how much the injuries have affected us. Atlanta should be excited to have DeAngelo Hall back for the Chiefs game; I think he'll shut down the already worthless Chiefs recievers.

Philadelphia at Cleveland 1:00 pm
San Diego at Carolina 1:00 pm
St. Louis at Miami 1:00 pm - Any given Sunday, any team can beat Miami.
Tennessee at Minnesota 1:00 pm - Cap hell sucks. Get used to it.
N.Y. Jets at New England 4:05 pm - Hey, I can hope...
Dallas at Green Bay 4:15 pm - "This football team sucks! No wait, it's awesome! Dammit, now it sucks again!" "Maybe it just sucks really well."

But then, I'm always wrong anyway.

i call this the week the 49ers can't lose!

i also call next week the week that the 49ers can't lose, we play the bears!

bob and eminem, should we place our $10 bets now, or are you guys going to back down now that you see quinn is a joke?

BAAAALLLINNN'
Atlanta at Kansas City, 1:00 pm - Quite frankly the way to beat Atl is to make things difficult for Vick, as Detroit showed. Problem is that I don't think that KC has the talent on the defensive side of the ball to make it happen. Atl's D should steamroll Green and Holmes.

Buffalo at Baltimore, 1:00 pm - Picking this one purely on defense. Buffalo's defense should frazzle an already shaky Baltimore offense and create some turnovers. Watch for Willis McGahee and get well soon JP Lohsman. Bledsoe needs to GO and JP looked great in the preseason.

Chicago at Tampa Bay, 1:00 pm - Quinn is abysmal.

Detroit at N.Y. Giants, 1:00 pm - Coughlin the disciplinarian has likely kept his team in check over the bye week and has had plenty of time to prepare. The Giants offense should keep rolling, and their D keeps gelling. Harrington is looking amazing, but the Giant secondary proved it was for real against one of the top rated passing games in the league in Dallas.

Jacksonville at Indianapolis, 1:00 pm - Jags have proven they can win games if their defense can keep it close, problem is that Indy just overpowers and over matches them. Leftwich is looking better and better, as is Fred Taylor, but it won't be enough.

Philadelphia at Cleveland, 1:00 pm - Philly is the best team in the league.

San Diego at Carolina, 1:00 pm - It's the LaDanian Tomlinson show, co-starring Drew Brees and Antonio Gates! Carolina's D is saddle with key injuries, and will fall victim to the underrated Superchargers. These guys can put points on the board.

St. Louis at Miami, 1:00 pm - Miami, 'nuff said.

Tennessee at Minnesota, 1:00 pm - Injuries will finally catch up to Minnesota. They had been lucky to fill the RB position, but Moss contributes much more than just his receiving stats indicate. Chris Brown will continue his domination while Steve McNair will put up good numbers once again.

N.Y. Jets at New England, 4:05 pm - Make a mistake and NE will punish you, ask the Seahawks who committed two turnovers in the first half last week. Pennington will do his best to keep the game close, but the Jet's defense is a bit out gunned. Every week a new player steps up for the Patriots.

Dallas at Green Bay, 4:15 pm - Eddie George and Richie Anderson. If Parcell's finally wakes up and realizes the talent that he has at the RB position, he'll be able to control this game.

New Orleans at Oakland, 4:15 pm Kerry Collins is just terrible. There's no other way to put it.

Seattle at Arizona, 4:15 pm - On paper, a decent team led by the budding stars Hasselback and Shaun Alexander. Holmgren has proven he can take talent a long way and will hopefully be able to coach the 'hawks out of the duldrums.

Some power rankings: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/7809262

8. New York Giants (4-1; unchanged): After a breather, the Giants should be able to extend their winning streak to five vs. Detroit
